Happy last day of March, happy April, everyone 🌸

I’m going to skip this part again this month, because… well. March has been longer than February, but in no way better. Spring’s here and the weather’s still being uncertain and so is my own mental health. Nothing new under the sun here, just missing a lot of things and people right now.
I’m tired. 🌸

I’ve been reading less again! It’s a bit of a rollercoaster, but only going down this time and this year so far. I’m getting used to this new rhythm though, so I guess that’s okay?
ANNA K. AWAY ☂️ I loved Anna K. and was so happy to read its sequel, I’m happy to say it didn’t disappoint at all. I loved the drama, grew even fonder of some of the characters. Definitely recommending this series as a whole!

A SISTERHOOD OF SECRET AMBITIONS ☂️ This was one of my most anticipated reads of 2021 and… I have mixed feelings about it. While I LOVED the concept, I felt like the execution could have been a little bit better? Still recommending it if you’re interested in the story, though!

ACE OF SPADES ☂️ Oh my GOD. I honestly can’t find the words to describe this book. It’s dark, it’s thrilling, there are so many twists and turns and it’s addictive and damn. I loved it SO MUCH. It’s a new favorite for me.

I THINK I LOVE YOU ☂️ I was looking forward to reading this one and it was exactly what I wanted it to be. Heartwarming, lovely enemies to lovers romance, adorable friendships. If you like YA contemporaries, get this one!

I’m still one book behind schedule. I don’t know if I’ll end up making it at the end of the year, but… I don’t really pay attention to it so much. If I do, it stresses me out and I just want to have fuuun okay.

My writing has been doing… good, actually? I don’t say this often, but I am kind of proud of the things I’ve accomplished lately. I’ve been prioritizing my writing a lot this past month – which made me cruelly fail at blogging things, but… can’t do it all, I guess. Thanks to this, I’ve been making good progress with my YA Mystery WIP, so I’m glad! I don’t know where this is going and it’s so messy, but I’m having fun, so… that’s what matters.

I regained a little bit of faith with my writing early this month while receiving feedback for the WIP of my heart, a YA mystery I submitted to both Pitch Wars and AMM. Don’t panic, I’m not getting published (I wish). I just heard some pretty nice things about my writing style and… it felt good. Meaning: I sobbed in front of my emails for 2 hours kind of good.

Written in March: At the end of February, my WIP was at 16 872 words. Right now at the end of March, it’s sitting at 32 427 words. I thought I wasn’t making too much progress, but it looked like I did. Pretty happy about it!

It’s been a mixed feelings kind of month, blogging-wise. In between some things unfolding again on book twitter and feeling worthless yet again as a book blogger, I’ve also gained enthusiasm again for some projects of mine…only to feel deflated again by the fact that this work, any book bloggers’ work doesn’t get the credit it should get.
I don’t know what I’m going to do next or if I have any exciting blog posts planned for the upcoming month.. I guess I’ll just see where my inspiration takes me and focus on what makes me happy. Hopefully it’ll be good!

To change things up a bit, Nyx shared some adult books on her radar and it’s an excellent list I personally want on my shelves right this second. I felt in the mood to share books I’m still obsessed with after a long time and… I feel like re-reading them all, really.
I’m always so happy to write any kind of blogging tutorial and to help bloggers, if I can. This month, I talked about writing a great blog post, but if you want anything special, PLEASE feel free to request it, I’d love to write about it for you all!!
I also celebrated my very first year on bookstagram! It’s been an experience and I’m sharing my conflicted thoughts about this bookish social media in my latest post.

I slacked again when it comes to reading blog posts. I’ve been focusing on my writing a little more and on my blog content, too, which means something had to go out the window. This month, it was reading your lovely blogs. I’m so sad and I wish I had more time, but… I’m doing my best with the time I have. I promise I’ll catch up with you all next month!!

How was your month? Did you find a new favorite book this past month? I’d love to hear all about it, so feel free to tell me in comments!

I’m so happy to see you loved Ace of Spades! I am very much looking forward to reading that one soon.
Yay! I hope you’ll love it as much as I do 😀
Hey Marie! First of all, happy bookstagram anniversary. It is without doubt a big accomplishment to be consistent with something as time consuming as social media. And please do keep writing about blogging tutorials. I have been struggling with certain aspects of my book blog (I’m a lot new) and your posts certainly helped me a lot. Hopefully, February will bring good news and a lot less Covid-19 cases.
sorry, I meant April
Oh thank you so much! 🥺🥺 I’m so, so happy that my posts could help you and I’m always happy to answer any questions if you’d like! Thank you for your sweet words. 🥺🥺
I enjoyed Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo and Are We There Yet by Kathleen West this month. Great wrap-up!
Thank you so much!! 🙂
I wish I could help you through the darker days and I really hope the sun will come through soon again. You can always DM me about anything if you need or want to talk <3
Thank you so, so much Kat, this means so much <3 <3
It looks like you had a fantastic writing month! Congrats on all your progress! 😊💞
Here’s to an amazing April! 📚
Thank you so, so much, Meghan!! 🥺🥺
You’re very welcome! 😊
I’m so happy to hear that you had a good writing month! I picked up my story a couple of times as well, and I’m decently pleased with what little I was able to add to it. I hope the sun shines for you and that your mental health improves <3 sending all my love xx
I’m so glad you could make some progress as well, that’s so great <3 I hope April will be kind to you, too <3
I just recently found your blog and I am in love with your aesthetic and posts! It makes me so sad to know that you have felt worthless as a book blogger 🙁 I’m super new to your blog but I could quickly tell that you put a lot of work into it because everything looks absolutely amazing!
I’m happy that you got some good feedback about your writing 🙂 I’ve thought about writing a book but it’s something I am still uncertain about and I don’t think I have enough motivation (or time) to really focus on that at the moment. The fact that you wrote 16,000 words in one month is so impressive to me! I wish you all the best with your writing 🙂
I’m very excited for I Think I Love You – it’s cool that you liked it 😀
This month I didn’t have any new favourites, but it wasn’t too bad of a reading month.
Can’t wait to see more of your blog posts pop up in my feed 😊
Oh my god thank you so much 🥺🥺🥺 you’re so, so kind, thank you for saying that and for all of your kind words 🥺 I hope you’ll get to writing someday, when you get the motivation to get to it! <3
I hope you'll enjoy I think I love you, it was such a good book! Have a lovely month! and thank you 🥺
Ace of Spades sounds really good! I am happy to see that you loved it so much. 🙂 I hope you have an amazing April, Marie! <3
It was SO good, I hope you’ll pick it up when you can! Thank you so much <3
I had written a really long comment, but I’m not sure what happened to it, it just went poof after I posted it 🙁 so, if I’m repeating myself and that comment is still out there, I’m sorry 😅
Anyways, what I had said was that I’ve very recently found your blog and I absolutely love its aesthetic and the posts I’ve seen so far! It made me sad to read that you have felt worthless as a book blogger because from the moment I found your blog, I saw that that is totally wrong! You can tell how much work you put into it because it looks absolutely AMAZING
I think it’s so cool that you wrote 16,000 pages of a book in just ONE month! I’m happy that you got some good feedback on it too and I hope that one day I’ll be able to read your novel 🙂
I Think I Love You has been on my TBR for a while and I’m super excited to get to it 😀 it’s great that you liked it!
I didn’t have new favourites this month, but that’s okay, because February was an awesome reading month for me.
I look forward to seeing more of your posts in my feed!
Ah your comment didn’t disappear at all, I’m moderating them one by one, that’s why! You’re so sweet, thank you SO MUCH for your sweet words and for taking the time to leave your comments, it means so much! 🥺🥺🥺
I’m sorry your mental health hasn’t been great. I understand that; mine has a bit up and down the last couple of weeks. I’m hoping that April will look brighter.
Great job on your writing though. I really need to get back into the groove this year. I’m hoping to have 100 pages written by the end of May.

Thank you so much, Lauren, I hope April will be better and brighter for you, too <3 And yay! best of luck for your writing goals! :)
I really hope you’ll feel better soon love! Try take care of yourself, okay? But yes for prioritising writing, that’s so exciting! I can only imagine how good your writing style must be, lol! Congrats on the nice feedback! And publishing will hopefully come one day 😉
Thank you so much, love, I’m trying my best. <3 Also uuh I don't know it's not that good? 🥺🥺 you're too kind 🥺🥺
Sending you love and hugs 💜 If you ever wanna talk, rant or anything my dms are always open for you on any of my socials 🤗 I read nothing in March though 😔 I’m in a constant state of stress and overwhelm and the idea of reading makes me feel guilty. I have been consuming a lot of YouTube again though 😅 and I’m hoping in April I can find my balance again with everything, including reading. If I can read just 1 book in April I’ll be over the moon. (tho I won’t hold it against myself if I don’t)
Thank you so much, this means a lot <3 <3 I hope you'll be able to find a balance that works alright for you this month, I'm sending you all the love <3
OMG I am so happy to see you loved Ace of Spades, I can’t wait to read it!! I hope Spring comes for you soon for some mood lift, the weather here has been niceish and it gave me a tiny boost. Which is nice. Happy April love
Thank you so much! <3 I hope you'll LOVE Ace of Spades, it was SO GOOD! <3
you’re welcome, I really meant everything I said 🙂 thank you, I hope so too!
Ahhh, that makes sense! Sorry for basically repeating the same comment twice, then 😅 Sometimes when that happens, a message will appear saying that the comment is awaiting for moderation, but it didn’t happen this time so I didn’t know if it had gone throught or not.
I’m glad it did 🙂
Don’t worry about it at all, honestly your comments made my entire day and I’m so happy and grateful you went through the trouble of posting again 🥺🥺 thank you for your sweet words!! 🥺🥺
I hope the beginning of spring brings you better days, Marie! 🌷 Though I love winter, it is nice to see the sun from time to time ☀ Very happy to see that you loved Ace of Spades, I want to get more into thriller and have high hopes for this one 🥰 I have also been feeling a bit down by the lack of appreciation for bloggers, so I think taking the time to do what makes you happy is so important! I hope you’re having a good April! ❤
Thank you so, so much, Caro! <3 I hope that April has been kind to you so far <3
Ahhhh, I’m SO excited you had such a kickass writing month!!! I hope you are so proud of yourself, because you SHOULD BE. That’s such a fantastic achievement! I totally understand beating yourself up for not doing everything (I feel this on a visceral level and I do this all of the time), but don’t let that dampen what you *did* accomplish, because that deserves to be celebrated!! <3
Thank you so much😭😭 It’s so hard not to beat ourselves up for not doing ALL THE THINGS, but… we can only do so much in a day. 😭😭
Exactly!! But this, even though it’s challenging, I hope you’re doing okay!!
I’m trying my best <3 thank you, I hope you too <3
I’m sorry to hear that your march wasn’t very good. Mine was bad for two weeks, then good, but i’m back to having a really tough month. I applaud you to be able to write blog posts still! It’s been so difficult to find the motivation to do much other than read, aha. Sending you positive vibes xx

Oh no! I’m so sorry you’ve been having a tough month. Know that I’m always a message away if you ever need to talk, always <3 Sending you all the love and positive vibes <3
