Who we are
Drizzle & Hurricane Books was founded in late 2014 by Marie, a writing and communications graduate in love with young adult books. On this blog, you will find a lot of bookish talks, mostly focused on young adult books: book reviews, book discussions, blogging discussions, special features and so on.
Occasionally, you will also be able to read other content such as traveling diaries, writing and others of life’s explorations in collaboration with Marie’s perfect sister you will find under the name Nyx.

⏳ Currently accepting book review requests.
Whether you’re an author, publisher, publicist, we will happily consider your book or your client’s book for review. Please read the guidelines below before submitting your request. Any request that has clearly been made without reading the guidelines will be ignored.
Our reading preferences
Please note that, at the time, we will only accept fiction books.
Marie’s preferences
- Fiction and Young Adult Books ONLY.
- Personal preference for contemporary, but I will also consider fantasy, science-fiction, thriller, mystery and historical fiction.
- I won’t read at all: erotica, horror, all non-fiction books.
Nyx’s preferences
- Fiction, Young Adult Books, New Adult Books, Adult Books.
- Personal preference for contemporary, but I will also consider fantasy, science-fiction and dystopia.
- I won’t read at all: erotica and horror.
Our reviewing way
- You can be certain to get our honest opinion about the book you send out for review. Whether we enjoyed it or not, we always try to be as constructive as we can in every review.
- Reviews for ARCs and early copies we have received will be, at best, published in a time frame close to the book’s publishing date. That being said, we do not promise that this time frame will always be respected, given that this blog is maintained outside of life’s other obligations.
- We accept both digital and physical copies for review. Before considering a physical copy, please note that we are living in France.
Not all requests will be accepted. We deal with requests in case-by-case and due to the amount of emails we can get, please be patient. If you’re not following any of the guidelines stated above, you might not get an answer at all. Please read carefully so that none of us loses our time.
Every book review will be published on our blog, as well as promoted on our social media accounts.
Author interviews
We would be delighted to set up an author interview on our blog. Any author interview will include a set of questions (the number of questions is to be determined depending of your wishes) and it will be published at your convenience on our blog and social media. Feel free to let us know if you’d love more details!
Giveaways
Please note that, as international bloggers ourselves, we are only open to hosting international giveaways.
We understand the shipping costs of an international giveaway, yet as book bloggers advocating for international book bloggers, we aim to make our giveaways as inclusive as possible.
Every giveaway will be published on our blog at the time of your convenience and promoted on our social media as well. Please feel free to reach out to us for more details.
Cover reveals
We would love to host cover reveals on our blog to reveal your beautiful book to the world! The cover reveal can happen at the time of your choosing and will, of course, be posted on our blog and our social media as well. It can be revealed with an excerpt of your choice, too. Please reach out if you’d love more information.
Promotional blog post
We’d be happy to create a personalized, promotional blog post for your book if you’d like to. We are open to discuss together the kind of blog post, a spotlight, a list, a creative post…We’d love to talk to you about what fits your needs best for your story.
