Happy February, friends! Let’s wrap up this looooooong month of January, shall we.

2021 haven’t been the massive change we all expected it to be, but I guess it doesn’t take a stroke of midnight to turn the world upside down into something better. These things take time, we can just hope we’re on the right way.
January has been… okay? I’m never too fond of winter months, especially January for some reason. My seasonal depression kicks in, I’m too tired and insomniac and it’s cold and it has snowed too and I’m just in a generally “ugh” kind of mood.
We’ve been settling into the house okay (most of the time), taking the time we have with the curfew here (read: not many) and our jobs to buy and put furniture together and scream because adulting sucks and is stressful and ugh. Otherwise, not much has happened in this long month. Taking it day by day, I guess.

My reading isn’t off to the best start, quantity-wise, but I’m learning to be okay with it… I guess. I also already found one of my favorite books of ALL TIMES in this list, sooooo that’s okay?
INFLUENCE ☂️ I love books with influencers and social media so on that side, this one was a hit. I loved the mystery side, too, but unfortunately found that it lacked a little bit when it comes to characterization.

HOT BRITISH BOYFRIEND☂️ Another entertaining read that disappointed me a little bit on some aspects, too. Liked the England setting, the traveling and the character growth, but still found some aspects of it lacking.

LIKE HOME ☂️ That was a beautiful surprise. I really really liked that one, the friendships were beautiful, the messages about change important, too and this book just made me happy.

THE ONES WE’RE MEANT TO FIND ☂️ I can’t breathe just thinking about this STUNNING READ with fierce characters, unique story and world and the twists, the turns, everything. Pre-order this. This is one of my favorite books of all times.

Goodreads challenge: 4/60 books
I set my goodreads challenge at 60 books, not to put too much pressure on myself and I’m starting to wonder if my goal should have been even lower…

One of my writing resolutions for 2021 was to write more and.. well I’m halfway there? I haven’t been as regular with my writing as I would have liked to be, but I tried my best, so I’d say that’s good.
I’ve been making progress on a first draft of something new since the end of last year, a YA mystery with a billionnaire’s daughter and a secret sister. If you watched the show Dynasty (the recent one!), that’s bascially the vibes I want to give my story a little bit.
My writing has been slow and I’ve been trying not to beat myself up too much for it, but well, sometimes I still do? I can’t do it all and ugh. This is frustrating???

Written in January: I . can’t. remember. I didn’t keep track of it. Oops. Not much. Maybe 1k or something.

I feel like January has been an okay blogging month, for the most part. I’ve been feeling a little insecure about so many blogging things some days and disheartened about my work, while other days I’ve been on a roll and so inspired and writing blog post ideas here and there.
It’s a rollercoaster, I guess.
I’m hoping to launch my new book bloggers feature this next month. It takes a bit of time and I’m slowly working on it, so it will most likely be a once-a-month thing or something. I’m still figuring it out, but hoping for the best!
I’ve also been working on monetizing my little book blog a little bit with affiliate links and, so far, my expectations are low, but if you ever want to buy a book and support my work (or get self hosted, or buy a blog’s theme!), feel free to check out my links on the footer of my blog! I’m planning on talking about this journey a little later, once I’ve settled into this for a couple of months maybe.
I have some exciting ideas for this February on the blog, too, blog posts I’m eager to write and I hope you’ll enjoy. I’ve also been playing with the idea of publishing a newsletter… would that be something you’d like to subscribe to? Please let me know your thoughts in comments!
On the blog this month: book reviews
On the blog this month: blogging, books & more

☂️ If you enjoy my work, you can support me, it would mean the entire world to me. Every comment, like, share and more means so much already. If you’d like to do a little extra something, you can:
- 💫 Support me by tipping me on ko-fi,
- 💫 Get something from my Amazon wishlist,
- 💫 Use my affiliate links to get yourself something (no extra for you, a small tip for me!) at the bottom of my blog’s page.
- Thank you for reading my posts always! 🥺

I clearly slacked at blog-hopping in the past month and I’m sorry. I don’t really have posts to share right now and I’m sorry. I’ll do better, I’ll try my best.

How was your January? How’s your reading year going so far? Let me know everything!

Ohhhh I’ve just remembered that I have Like Home pre-ordered! So many amazing books out this month.
Ooh, I hope you’ll enjoy it!! 🙂
I love the cover of The Ones We’re Meant To Find. I’m glad the inside was good too. I hope you’re having a great February!
It’s one of my favorite book covers ever. I hope February will be kind to you, too! <3 <3
I’m so glad you loved the ones we’re meant to find, it is a book I wouldn’t initially pick up as it is a bit outside my comfort zone but I enjoyed Joan He’s debut so I wanted to check it out (also low-key the cover). It is sounds interesting though and now I’m even more excited!!
I haven’t read that much in January, I think I’ve read 2 books and 3 graphic novels 😂 I’m really trying not to think about numbers this year though.
I think trying your best on writing is what it is about and your new WIP sounds amazing. My writing has been slow in January which wasn’t the start I wanted but I am hoping to do some research this weekend so little steps.
I look forward to seeing your ideas in February, I’m sure it will all be amazing and I would subscribe to a newsletter for sure ☺️💛
I wish you a wonderful February 🥰
Oooh I’m glad to hear you enjoy Joan’s debut, I’ve been curious about it, but uncertain whether it’s for me or not. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on that book!! <3
I think it's so good not to focus on numbers, we are way too often into all the numbers, but they create such a terrible pressure at times.
I hope you can take some steps to write more soon, I'm sending you all the inspiration, and always here if you want to talk about writing, too! <3
Thank you so, so much, Sophie, have a lovely February as well and take care <3
I’m so happy to see that you loved The Ones We’re Meant To Find. I have that preordered, too.
Ah I hope you will love it!! 🙂
I feel insecure about my blog EVERY day and I just try to not look at the numbers and to cherish every singe comment and like.
I just wanted to tell you that I really like your blog. How it looks, your articles, your writing, your reviews! Just, yay!!
Hope February treats you well 🙂
Oh thank you so much, that’s so sweet of you!! 🥺🥺🥺 I hope you’ll have a lovely February! <3
I’m trying again to post this comment, didn’t get through last time.
I’m always insecure about the numbers for my blog. I just try not to look at numbers too much. I just cherish every like and comment 🙂
I wanted to let you know that I really like your blog!! Keep on going strong 🙂
I hope February will treat you well.
I requested an ARC of The Ones We’re Meant to Find – keeping my fingers crossed!
Ah I hope you’ll get to read it soon!! 🙂
Argh I feel the exact same way about January—the cold and dark and seasonal depression and insomnia is a rough combination. I hope things look up for you in February <3
Ooh I’m so glad to hear you enjoyed The Ones We’re Meant to Find so much! I can’t wait to pick it up. Best of luck with all your goals, and I hope you find some more great books in the coming month!

Ahh right, it’s one of the most stunning book covers ever. I hope you’ll love it!! <3
January went well for me besides some personal concerns, reading kept me stellar. I have reading and blogging goals as well. Mine are more intertwined as I feel my blogging will help me get my creativity back in general. I am also trying to find my way back into the blogging community, so it was great to read your post. I wish you an amazing February!
Oh thank you, I’m happy you enjoyed my post <3 I hope you'll be able to get some of your creativity back and will enjoy your return to the community, too! :D
Omg you got to read The Ones We’re Meant To Find???? I’m so jealous but also happy that you liked it cause ahh I can’t wait to read it! Also very excited for this mystery feature, will keep an eye out for it 🙂

Thank you so much!! That’s so good to know, thank you for your support 🥰
Aw, Marie, I’m really sorry to hear January was kinda meh )): I’m also not very fond of January in general, it’s always exam season, so it never feels like a new year. But hopefully, February will be way better for both of us!! <3 (also I'm SO excited to read The Ones We're Meant to Find and it makes me so happy to know you enjoyed it!!)
Let’s hope February has been better for you so far? and that it will continue to be kind to you, I’m sending you all the love, Marta <3
Ah I love the cover for the ones we’re meant to find 😍 also you’re doing your best Marie, blog hopping takes up so much energy and time. It’s OK to conserve that energy because your own mental health and energy comes first 🤗
My reading is going OK I read 3 books last month, one book was the last book in a series and the ending was wholesome 💕 I finished the bone witch last month, which I’m so happy about and I adore that book so much. Even though it took me forever to finish, it was worth it but now I’m not ready for book 2. My heart is still recovering from book 1 😂 sending you love and good vibes for your February 💜✨
Thank you so, so much Clo! 🥺 It does take a whole lot of time and energy and sometimes I end up focusing on other things. I love blog hopping, but I need to find my new rhythm for it, too. <3
I'm happy you enjoyed the bone witch! I've heard great things about this book, I need to check it out sometime!
Thank you so, so much, I hope your February will be wonderful 🥰🥰
your praise for the ones we’re meant to find has me monumentally more excited for it!! i’m so happy you loved the book so much 😭😭 and i’m sorry that you’ve been feeling insecure about some blogging things, you are so valued and i appreciate you (as a blogger and beyond blogging!) so much 💖 i hope you have a wonderful february, i hope the end of winter will mean more lightness for you soon <3
I can’t wait for you to read it, May, I hope you’ll love it as much as I did <3 thank you so, so much 🥺🥺🥺 I hope February will be kind to you <3
I always have trouble with being okay with my reading quantity-wise. I always feel like if I’m not reading a lot then I’m not a great “bookworm”; if that make sense. But I think if we only read a few books a month but really enjoy and love what we read, then that’s even better than reading a bunch of books that you might not even enjoy a lot of them. I hope you’re having a great February, Marie! <3
I’m glad I’m not the only one. I agree with you, though, quality matters way more than quantity 😀
Omg you’ve already read the ones We’re Meant To Find!! I’m so jealous and can’t wait to see your review for it. I’ll have to hurry up and read the authors debut soon. Plus she gets the most stunning covers 😍😍😍
I didn’t get reading until sometime around the 20th of January thanks to the virus but at least I’ve been kind of making progress at beating my slump since then. I’ve been picking up some of my most anticipated books, that I was half worried I wouldn’t enjoy thanks to my constant reading slump struggles, at least.
Your writing project sounds really interesting. Good luck with it!! I need to try and start up again sometime, it just always seems so daunting.
I can’t WAIT for you to read it, honestly I am not over how GOOD this book was. 🥺😭
I’m glad that you’re making a little bit of progress with your slump and hope that it keeps on getting better and better! Take your time with it all and enjoy what you’re reading at your own pace <3
Thank you so much!! <3
Thank you. It sounds incredible.
Thanks ❤ that’s what I’m trying to do (: I mostly just need to stop falling into it between books. Once I finish one I’m very good at not picking another book up /:
Oh no really? I’m sorry to hear that 🙁 maybe you need to take a little bit of a break in between books now? I mean, it’s okay if that’s something you have to do to feel excited about your next read again! <3
Sorry for the ridiculously late reply. And I don’t think that’s it, I think I just panic about not getting into the next one. I was doing quite well up until recently so fingers crossed I get going again soon. I got side tracked trying to get some of my blog organized and completely abandoned reading again. 🙈
I get that ahah it’s easy to get side tracked with other things to do! I hope you’ll find your rhythm again <3
Thank you. I hope you’re well & look forward to catching up on your posts 💗
Thank you <3 <3
You and me both struggle during the winter months, but be proud because you have been able to continue blogging! I literally have disappeared off the planet during the month of February. It totally wasn’t planned, but it happened! I hope your february was better than your January! xxx

Thank you so much <3 It's been a bit of an escape to keep on blogging ahah, I've been slacking in so many other aspects of my life lately. Thank you <3 I hope that this month will be better for you, spring's on its way <3
Marie omg I hope that you’ve had a better February!! Apologies for being so late but sending all the love your way, Love you and all the work you do, know you’re appreciated and love <3<3<3<3
Thank you so, so much, you’re the sweetest, thank you <3
