Is it just me, or did January last about a gazillion years? This month always feels like the longest, every single year, but this one was a particular kind of torture, tbh. I’m just glad it’s over and hope February will be kind.

Not much to share, unfortunately January hasn’t been filled with exciting things, mostly just work, work and work, where things are happening that I am very uncertain about. My mental health hasn’t been the best, either, but I’m trying my best. I really don’t want to be a downer here, so whatever, let’s move ooon to the fun part of this wrap-up, a.k.a the books and more! ❤️

Monthly Reading Wrap-Up
January has been a pretty good reading month! I really enjoyed all of my reads and even found not one, but TWO new favorite reads so, yay!

EVERY TIME YOU GO AWAY ☂️ Abigail Johnson writes such beautiful books, friends. This book has all the emotions, a beautiful complex friends to lovers romance and ugh, so good, read it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
You can read my review for this book here!
THE SPLIT ☂️ This was a really captivating adult mystery split between two timelines, with two sisters and one of them disappearing. Such an exciting read. Kit Frick is slowly becoming a must-read for me! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I HOPE THIS DOESN’T FIND YOU ☂️ Ann Liang IS a must-read for me and this book was way too relatable at times, excellent with its enemies to lovers romance and I’m obsessed okay. A new favorite. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
THE SOMEDAY DAUGHTER ☂️ Ellen O’Clover just has my heart, I think. I loved her debut, Ro Devereux, and The Someday Daughter just somehow made me cry??? I don’t even know why, it ached at times. Such a beautiful book with complex mother daughter relationship, soft romance, anxiety and a pug I adore. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Goodreads challenge: 4/45 books
Well look at that, I’m already ahead! I guess I cheated a bit, since I lowered my challenge this year, but… I should do that every single time. It’s nice to feel ahead and not to feel too pressured!

One of my goals was to finish the draft of my sisters WIP by the end of January.
I wrote “the end” on January 28th, so… looks like I made it! I swear I could cry, but I just feel too empty for that. Like, this book has been my life again for the past 7 months and I don’t know what to do, now that I don’t have to get back to it, yet.
Traditionally, it’s good to let your book rest before getting back to it, so… I’m trying to do just that. It’s tough! But I’m trying. I’m excited to talk more about this book soon, though!! ✨

Well, like planned, I didn’t post very much – or at all, in January. I’ve been really focused on making progress with my book and writing goals and blogging fell off the wagon, a little bit. Still managed to write my resolutions posts and I’m still here for the wrap-up, so that’s good. I’m just not trying to put too much pressure on myself and just go with the flow, here.

For me, January was gone in a jiffy. Idk how it passed so quickly. Time really does scare me. Anyway, I wanted to say that setting up goals you are sure you can meet is way better than pressuring yourself into them, especially since it comes to reading. After all, this is something you enjoy and not something you HAVE to do. I hope you are kinder to yourself and that all your resolutions come to an end successfully. 🙂
Thank you so, so much for your kind words, this means so much! 🥰 I hope that January has been kind to you and that February’s off to a great start!
I’m sorry to hear that January has been tough, I hope February is kinder to you 💖 I’m SO excited to read I Hope This Doesn’t Find You and The Someday Daughter, they were high up on my new releases list 🥰
Thank you so, so much Caro <3 I can't wait to hear what you think of them!!🥰
The Someday Daughter looks quite interesting but also something that will hit you hard.
It did hit me hard ahah, I related to it in ways I didn’t expect to. Definitely recommending it always! 🥰
I see how January can be a tricky month, but (surprisingly) I was actually very happy with it. Readingwise it went well, too so I can’t really complain. February is going to be short (while still longer than other years) so let’s see how that is going to go. I am already looking forward to more book updates from you. The aesthetic board looks awesome!
I’m so happy to hear that! 🥰 I hope that February will be really great to you. And thank you!! So happy you like the aesthetic board, I do a little too much of them ahah, but I love them! 🥰
January is one of my fave months so I love that it feels like it lasts for 2 months!!!
Ahh that’s so great, so happy you enjoyed the month!! 🥰
I 100% agree with you, January felt a million years long! It was like, oh there are still 5 days left of the month, I’m like how is it not over yet?! Despite it feeling SUPER long, I feel like it had a mixture of ups and downs for me. It looks like you’ve gotten a good start to the year! Your reading sounds amazing, I’m so happy for you that you’ve already found some favourite reads! AND your writing is doing well, too! Look at you go! I wish nothing but amazing things for you in February! 💜
Right? I can’t believe the month was that endless 😂 thank you so, so much for all of your support, it means so much! I hope that February will be wonderful to you <3
I feel like February is already a blur! 😂
You’re very welcome, here’s to a wonderful February!
January *was* really long. I really hope whatever is happening at work gets sorted and you’re able to move on mentally from whatever is impacting you there (sending good vibes; work shit always sucks). Also, CONGRATS ON FINISHING YOUR NOVEL! 🎉 That’s so exciting and I’m stoked for you! I hope whatever you write next (whether it’s editing that next draft or something new or jumping back into another project), it fills you with joy.
Sending you all the good vibes, sunlight and great mental health, Marie. You deserve it! 🖤
Thank you so much, Nicole, this means the entire world, thank you <3 <3 I hope that February will be fantastic to you, and always here to chat whenever you need to. Sending you so much love <3
Of course!! I am rooting for you always, Marie. You deserve the world and then more and I am always hoping life treats you right! 🥰
Appreciate you so, so, SO much Nicole!! 🥰🥰
January wasn’t that good for me as well. congrats on completing the draft. I hope you can publish it soon. Wish you a great Feb!
I hope that February will be way, way better for both of us. Sending you so much love <3
I’m sorry January has been tough and it doesn’t ever make you a downer for talking about how you feel, sending you love and best wishes for February 🥰
Congrats on finishing your draft✨ that’s so exciting, I hope you are proud of yourself because it is not easy and you did it!
I am glad you found some good books last month and wishing you a kind February! 🤗

I’m really sorry your January wasn’t that great and hope February is looking up for you! 💙 And congrats on finishing your draft! That sounds like an amazing success, so please celebrate yourself a little bit!
Thank you so, so much for your kind words, this means so much! I hope February will be kind to you 💙
Hey! Just discovered your blog and you have the prettiest web design omg 🥺 For me, I read Crime and Punishment, King Lear, and Daisy Jones and the six. Looks like you read some good books this month too! And honestly, I didn’t make any formal resolutions, but I should have lol!
Oh you’re too kind 😭😭😭 thank you so much, this means the world, thank you thank you thank you!! 😭 Daisy Jones is one of my favorite books, I hope you enjoyed it!
And resolutions are sometimes hard to follow and just set us up for too high expectations. We can do without ahah. I hope that your February will be fantastic and thank you, Katie!🥺🥰
Yes, I hope you have a good February as well! 😊 For me, personally, I think setting smaller weekly or monthly goals is more effective. I feel like I am constantly thinking about the future or my bigger goals, so setting “mini goals” is how I improve a little bit each day. 🙂
You’re so right, it’s such a great way to think about it. Little by little, you’ll get there easier! 🙂
The Split sounds right up my alley, I’ll check that out. Congratulations on your WIP, seems like it was a good writing month. I hope February will be kinder to you and your mental health <3
Ahh I hope you’ll love it, it was such a fun read 🥰 Thank you so, so much, I hope that February has been absolutely lovely to you so far, you deserve it <3
Hello! New blogger here and just found you. Love your blog! January was both an eternity and over in a blink of an eye, if it can be both? lol
It can be both, for sure 😂 I hope that February will be great for you! And thank you so much!!
Wow! two 5 stars in one month. I consider that a great reading month. I hope you’re having a great February xx
Thank you so much, Melina! Hope your February has been great so far!! xx
