Happy 2024 ! It’s that time of the year again, where everyone makes resolutions they promptly forget. I hope I won’t be forgetting mine, but let’s see what they are now, shall we?

My reading resolutions for 2023: how did I do?
- Read 50 books.
✅ I made it! Barely, because I finished my 50th book on December 30th, but I still did it! I’m pretty happy I managed to read 50 books. I’ll always be a bit sad that I can’t read as much as I used to, but well. I’m doing my best and enjoying what I read, so that’s what matters the most, I guess!
Here are a couple book highlights of the past year:

More of my 2023 favorite books here.

My new reading goals for 2024
- Read 45 books
It’s the first time in… well, a long time, I’m lowering my reading goal for the year. I barely made my 50 books goal in 2023, and this year, I don’t want to feel too pressured to make it. I also want to focus on other goals, so… 45 it is! Fingers crossed I can make it.

My blogging resolutions for 2023: how did I do?
Blogging has been all ups and downs this past year. While it started off strong, I’ve been focusing on other things as well and you could feel it on my blog, lately. Less posts, less just, being there for blogging, as a whole. Let’s see what I did with my resolutions, then!
- Participate in the discussion challenge
✅ It’s been a bit of a tradition to participate in the challenge hosted by Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction and Shannon @ It Starts at Midnight. I’ve loved writing bookish, blogging and discussions as a whole the past few years, but this time… I don’t know if I count it as a win. Looking back, I kind of wrote 3 discussion-like posts in the entire year. Nyx wrote 2.
So… I guess it’s been a slumpy year, discussion-wise, unfortunately. But I participated, so… half a win, I’d say?

- My Reading, Blogging and Writing Resolutions for 2023
- What influences me to read a book (a non-book blogger POV)
- Just have fun with blogging
✅ I think I can say I did this? It resulted in me posting less, sometimes not even being there too much, but when I did… I had fun. I genuinely enjoyed what I wrote, posted over the years and did so when I felt inspired, so… yay for that!

My new blogging goals for 2024
- Just have fun with blogging
Not making big, fancy new resolutions for blogging, especially given the blogging year I’ve had. I don’t want to give this little place up, because I deeply love it, but I don’t want to put too much pressure on myself to write content, either.
Maybe I’ll end up writing a whole lot this year, maybe not. Maybe I’ll talk more about writing, or not. Maybe I won’t do much. I just want to keep on having fun, whenever I do something here!

My writing resolutions for 2023: how did I do?
It’s been a pretty good writing year, I’d say. I wrote a lot, a lot more than I usually do and I’ve been extra focused on it, too, so yay! Let’s see how I did with my resolutions.
- Write the first draft of my revenge WIP
✅ I did this! I’m pretty proud to say I managed to write a first draft in a little over 6 months, a record for me. I wrote this from January to July and I had so much fun with it. This is an upper-YA book about revenge (obviously), California, ex-childhood friends and messed-up people. Here are some aesthetics!

- TALK! about my writing MORE!
✅ I tried, so I’m counting this as a win? I mostly tried doing it a little more on my instagram account, but I still kept on talking about it regularly in my monthly wrap-ups, as well, so… yay for that!
- Other things I did
- Started draft 4 of my sisters WIP
✅ I was hoping to start AND finish draft 4 of my sisters WIP… but that was maybe a bit too hopeful. I started it mid-August and, as I’m writing this, I have maybe another month of working on it for it to be done. Still, I’m writing, writing, writing, so, yay!
- Take my writing seriously
✅ I want to put this 2022 resolution back out there, because, in 2023, I kind of did. I thought, harder than before, about what I want to do with my writing, my hopes, my dreams, my personal projects and everything. Keeping it all on the down-low, for now, but yeah, I’m happy to say I am trying to take my writing seriously and, places, hopefully!

My new writing goals for 2024
- Finish draft 4 of my sisters WIP
My tentative goal for this draft was December, 31st, 2023. I didn’t make it, but I know I can make it this year. Hopefully, by the end of the month, I’ll have yet another full draft of this story that means so much to me.

- Work on the sisters WIP
Not revealing everything, just yet, but once I’m done, I got some work to do on this story to shape it up for what’s next. Traditional publishing? Self-publishing? Time will tell so stay tuned!!
- Start draft 2 of the Revenge WIP
I’m obsessed with this story, honestly and I can’t wait to get back to it. I’d love to write a full draft of it again this year, but… I don’t want to get my hopes up, either. So I’ll just put “start”, in my resolutions, and I hope I can make it go somewhere. I’m excited to write more of this story!!
- Talk about writing more
This is still very much a resolution, especially given my personal writing projects. Talking about my writing more, on the blog, maybe in revamping my newsletter, on my instagram account… There’s a LOT to be done here and I’m both excited and terrified about it. But yeah. Let’s do this, right?!

My personal resolutions for 2024
- Travel, travel, travel
You know by now that I need to move to feel alive and, well. I’m hoping to plan some trips this upcoming year, big or small or both, as much as I possibly can.
- Self-care
It’s been an on and off kind of year, mental-health wise, but the second half of 2023 has been pretty terrible, to be honest. I want to try to put myself first, to work on myself more and always and just, to try and take care of myself and the way I talk to myself, as well. Here’s to hoping.

All good goals, yay for taking it easy! Hoping you get to travel and do good things in 2024 ❤️
Thank you so much, Kristina ❤️ Wishing you all the very best for this year ❤️
That’s amazing that you finished your first draft. I think it’s quite a feat to write a book, so, congratulations. Blogging should be fun. Things we do that are not fun are called jobs. Good luck and I hope 2024 is a fantastic year for you.
Oh thank you so much, Sam! 💕 You’re so right, it needs to be fun before anything. I hope the year will be fantastic to you, too! 💕
Wishing you the best for 2024! Totally felt what you wrote about self-care for 2024 because I was in a similar situation last year. For this year, I don’t have any big resolutions, just to listen to body and mind (/mental health!!) and stress less, also to say no more often, haha. As for bookish goals, I want to visit the library more often, read at least one book a month and reduce my tbr pile. Happy reading!
Thank you so much!! I really hope this year will be the year we can practice more self-care. We deserve it. 💕 I’m sending you so much love and wishing you all the best with your resolutions! 💕
Yay! You did well on your goals last year and I wish you all the best on your goals this year! 😊
Damn, girl you have a lot of WIPs you’re writing!! You got some serious writing happening and good for you! I really hope you achieve your dreams! 💞
I get you about moving to stay alive. This year my goal for ‘travel’ is to just do more. Anything I want to do I’m going to put it out there and see if it can be done. I’v already got 2 things (ok 3 can’t forget about Taylor concert… even if it is the end of the year for me! 😂) to look forward to in the next few months and I have another thing brewing that I’m hoping can become a reality. I’m just excited, 2024 is a new leaf I think. Here’s to all our goals and dreams! 💜
Thank you so much!! I’ve been focused on writing lately I guess, ahah, I just wish I were faster at writing and getting all my ideas down. But thank you for your support, appreciate it so much💕
You can’t forget about Taylor! It’s something to look forward to, even if it’s late, so it COUNTS!! ahah 💕 Sending you all the love and wishing you the best for this year!!
You’re welcome! And I feel you, that’s how I feel about reading this year… I haven’t been reading as fast as I’d like (yes I know we’re only 2 weeks into the year). This is the year I’ve gotten all my IRL friends really into reading and they’re completely crushing it (which I love!!) but I’m SO lacking compared to them, which is crazy! I hope you get on your writing game though! 💞
You are 100% correct, it still counts! Only 10 months to go before Taylor!
Thank you so much, the same to you!! 💜
I so get the comparison game, it’s tough to stop once you start! But you got this, and focus on quality, as long as you read books you enjoy, that’s what matters! <3 <3
Thank you so much!! <3
Yes exactly! It’s really hard to stop, but I do agree with you – I have to focus on the quality of the books I’m reading! And so far, it’s been a pretty good year so far, reading-wise! I hope you’ve been having a good reading year, so far! 😊❤️
That’s so good to hear!! 🥰 My reading year has been pretty good so far, as well, so yay!! 🥰
Aw yay! I’m glad to hear that! 😊💞
Congratulations on completing your goals!
I’d definitely say that you talked about your writing a lot more on bookstagram and it was a really nice and fun thing to see <3
Good luck with the 2024 goals, nothing wrong with lowering the Goodreads goal and just focusing on enjoying blogging and reading 🙂
Thank you so much, appreciate you so much 💕 I hope that the year will be fantastic to you!! 💕
I’m so excited for you, Marie! I really hope 2024 is such an amazing year for you, especially with your writing, but even more especially for your mental health. I connecting a lot with what you were talking about and I wish for nothing more than for life to be absolutely wonderful for you. 🖤
Nicole thank you, your support always means the world to me 💕 I hope that this year will be incredible to you, wishing you all the very best always 💕 💕
Thank you so much, Marie!! 🥰
Good luck with your 2024 goals! ❤️ I’m glad that you found a way to keep blogging fun for you – I always love reading your discussion posts 🥰 It’s great that you made progress with your writing, I wish you all the best for the future 😊
Thank you so, so much Caro! I wish you all the very best for your 2024, as well! 🥰
