Happy March, friends! Can’t believe we’re back in March already. Ugh.

I don’t have much to share in that area, I feel like February hasn’t been the best month overall, anyway. I’m just sad and depressed and feeling low, aside from a couple days where we could feel the spring coming and I could feel a little better.
I can’t wait for spring to come around 🌷

My reading has been slowing down compared to last year.. while I feel a little guilty and not happy about that, I’m learning that it’s all I can handle with everything else so… that’s life. I’m happy I managed to read one more book this month, compared to January!
I guess now it’s all a matter of REALLY prioritizing the books I want to read the most, right?
A TASTE FOR LOVE ☂️ I had so much fun with that one! Endearing, entertaining and adorable. I loved the siblings relationship, the friendships, the romance and all the baking made me so hungry, too.
Read my review 💧 Buy the book on: Amazon – Book Depository – Bookshop – Blackwell’s
FABLE ☂️ I was pleasantly surprised by this one! I really liked the characters, the sea adventures and the world.

CRIER’S WAR ☂️ I’m SAD that it took me this long to get and read this book because you all were right. I LOVED IT SO MUCH? The world-building, the characters, the soft building romance THE AH I NEED THE SEQUEL HELP.
💧 Buy the book on: Amazon – Book Depository – Bookshop – Blackwell’s
WHEN WE WERE INFINITE ☂️ I am a little conflicted about this one. I really liked the focus on friendship, growing up and everything, but… yeah. It’s a tough book and it ended up being a bit triggering for me to completely enjoy it.

PERFECT ON PAPER ☂️ Ahh I really loved this? I fell for the characters, the story, the relationships and queer rep. Such a fantastic book, 200% recommending this.

Goodreads challenge: 9/60 books
I’m one book behind schedule and realize that this seems to be getting a bit of a habit here. Why did I set my goodreads challenge like the other years thinking I could make it ahhhhhgh.

It’s been slow, but I’ve been making some progress so that’s good?!
I think I’m always having trouble with comparing my writing to others and my own progress to others, as well. It’s good to remind myself that I might be slow, but I’m trying. I’m doing it at my own pace and it’s okay. There’s no rush, just my own damn expectations.
Here’s a little aesthetic of my current WIP. It’s a YA Mystery 👀

QUESTION: Would anyone be interested if I wrote more blog posts about writing?

Written in February: Ever since I got Scrivener, I stopped keeping track of words I write every month, so I don’t know how much I wrote. Instead, I thought I’d share my current word count for my manuscript to track my progress! So far, I’m at 16 872 words.

I’m really happy and thankful because I had a lot of fun launching the first blog post in my book blogging feature, book bloggers talk. I’m so happy you all enjoyed it! (Let’s face it: it also makes the 3 days I spent putting it together and agonizing over the layout a little less terrible). If you want to participate next, don’t forget to check out the post and sign up for the newsletter!
Otherwise, it’s been an okay month, I guess. I’m still feeling like I’m not doing enough sometimes and like my stats still aren’t the best they could be, but I’m trying to focus on having fun and not let numbers bring me down.
I have some exciting blog posts for March that I can’t wait to write so, yay for that!
On the blog this month: book reviews

On the blog this month: blogging, books & more
We talked a lot about romance, since February’s Valentine’s Day. Nyx wrote an amazing post wondering if YA books have too much romance, I shared some of my favorite romances, as well.
I was in a mood to talk about blogging and supporting book bloggers’ work, so I shared my thoughts on that, too. I always feel like bloggers deserve WAY more love. I also launched my new blogging feature and we talked about the future of book blogging.
☂️ If you enjoy my work, you can support me, it would mean the entire world to me. Every comment, like, share and more means so much already. If you’d like to do a little extra something, you can:
- 💫 Support me by tipping me on ko-fi,
- 💫 Get something from my Amazon wishlist,
- 💫 Use my affiliate links to get yourself something (no extra for you, a small tip for me!) at the bottom of my blog’s page.
- Thank you for reading my posts always! 🥺

I’m really happy that I managed to blog hop a little more this past month, yay! I always want to do my very best to support bloggers, read their posts and share some love, but sometimes I lack the time to do so. I always feel like I could do more, but I’m just one person. Soooo anyway, here is my small selection of blog posts I read and enjoyed this month!
Books & Reading
- Belle @ Belle Can Read wrote an incredible blog post about reading for the sake of content.
- Chana @ Paper Procrastinators talked about misogyny in fiction.
- Elodie @ Ursa Reads shared some lovely books celebrating love.
- Ruby @ Ruby Rae Reads compiled an amazing list with Valentine’s Day recommendations.
- Lauren @ Love Yo Shelf has some great recommendations for lovers of To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before!
Blogging
- Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction wonders if unbiaised reviews are a thing.
- Shruti @ This is Lit wrote about SEO for book bloggers.
- Sofi @ A Book A Thought tells us how to stay motivated as a reader and book blogger.
Writing
- Kate @ Your Tita Kate shared on her blog, in collaboration with Shenwei, a must-read blog post about white authors writing POC.

How was your month? How’s your reading challenge going? Are you LATEEEE already just like me? Did you already find books you fell for? Let me know everything!

I’m so sorry to hear you’ve been feeling sad lately .. Although i’ve been getting better, I feel a bit of depression creeping out here and there too- mainly because I still have no idea what I wanna do with my life now nor do I have goals or motivations and i’m just 😐 yeah.. (I’m “only” 26years old so I still have plenty of time but..)
I can’t wait for our snow to melt and days to feel “happier” with the sun and warmth — Alas we’ve stuck with snow until probably June, because Canada x) The past two days we’ve had crazy wind with a temperature of -27 degrees Celcius 🥶
Sending you lots of Love, Marie <3
May March gets better for you!
Thank you so much for your sweet words, Kristina <3 I'm sorry to hear you haven't been feeling like your best self lately, either. I'm here for you and I'm certain you'll figure it all out. Take it day by day and with little goals, little things that make you happy and you'll figure it out, I'm sure of it <3
OH MY GOD I couldn't survive with those temperatures 😳😳 stay safe and strong, sending you all the love <3 <3
Thank you so much Marie ❤️❤️ you precious bean
Of course, always here if you need ❤️
Looks like you had a good reading month! I hope MArch is even better!

Thank you so much! <3
Thank you so much! <3
Really glad you enjoyed Fable, I loved it!
I loved it so much as well, such a great read 😀
I hope spring hurries up and brings you some sun to life your mood. Virtual hugs from me, because I know exactly how you feel and I truly only wish you the best <3
Thank you so, so much Kat, you’re the best <3 <3
I’m sorry that in your personal life february wasn’t the best. It was about the same for me. I’m hoping for better days soon now that we’ve been having better weather. Great post, and hope you have a better march 🙂 xxx

Thank you so much, Melina <3 Here's to spring coming soon <3
I’m sorry you’re not having a great mental-health month. I’m sure that’s playing into the difficulties with numbers making you feel bad and inadequate about the blog. It’s been about a year now of full crazy, so try to keep giving yourself a bit of room and remember that (like you said) this year is not going to be like others. 😅 That said, it is lovely to see your new series of posts. Focus on all the good. <3
Me reading this comment: 🥺😭. Thank you so, so much for your sweet words, Jennifer and for the reminder 🥺. I hope you’ll have a beautiful month <3
Lovely wrapup!! I love your blog and graphics, it’s all so unique!
Ahh thank you so much, you’re so sweet!! 🥺🥺🥺
Any progress is good progress, right? And thankfully it’s not too much longer until spring!
Personally, I love hearing about other people’s writing journeys, and I feel like very few people focus on writing in the book blogging community, so I would definitely be interested if you wrote any writing posts! Seeing others make progress always inspires me with my own writing. Not to mention your aesthetics for your mystery WIP are so pretty!
I hope March goes well for you!
Definitely, any progress is good so… yay!
Thank you so much, you’re so kind! 🥺 I’m really shy about my writing, but I also feel like I want to talk about that part of my life more? I’ll have to see what I can do about that. Thank you so, so much! I hope March will be lovely for you, too <3
I’m the same way with my writing! I joined some discord writing groups a little over a year ago (thanks to NaNoWriMo) that really helped my confidence with sharing/talking about my “writing life”, so I’ve only recently started being more open with it. It gets easier when you know people are there to support you!
Ahh that’s so lovely, I’m happy to hear that for you! <3 I'm sure it gets easier with time, I need to learn to be more open with it all and less nervous 🙈🙈
The worst thing anyone can do is compare yourself to others! I am editing my book and it’s taking me much longer than usual but hey…at least I am moving forward.
Ahh that’s amazing, congratulations, editing’s a beast ahah. I wish you all the best with your writing <3 <3
Thank you!
This month I read the Shadow and Bone Series and Chain of Gold and because it’s been a while since I’ve been back to reading that is such an achievement for me! I hope I can read more in March!
Ahh I really need to read the Shadow and Bone series someday. I hope you’ll be able to read more, as well! Thank you so much! <3
I’m sorry to hear that February hasn’t felt like the best month. I hope you start feeling a lot better soon! Spring is just around the corner. <3 The books you read in February all look and sound good. I may have to add a few to my forever long TBR. I hope you have an amazing month, Marie! Sending positive good vibes your way. <3 🙂
Thank you so, so much Ashley, let’s hope so <3 I hope March wil be kind to you!
I’m SO sorry February hasn’t been the best month, I send you all my love and virtual hugs for you, love ❤️❤️❤️
Ok, I need to read your WIP 😅, it sounds wonderful!!! I know you’ll do something amazing with that idea 😍 & thank you SO much for sharing my post, honey, you’re the best! You know I love your blog SO MUCH. 🥺🥺 PS: I almost freaked out because I couldn’t enter to your blog, I don’t know why, but I got an error on the page … I was scared, but I’m fine now 😂.
Have the most wonderful month 🌟🌟
Thank you so, so much Sofi you’re the sweetest <3 <3 and I'm so glad you like the idea, thank you 🥺🥺 I hope someday you might enjoy the book, too! 🥺
I loved seeing the books you read and hearing about your writing! Cheering you both on this March! 😀
Thank you so much!! <3
I love your wrap-up posts so much, and try not to pressure yourself to much with reading!! Also thank you for including the important links at the beginning of your post, it truly makes a difference! As for your writing, I LOVE the aesthetic! You don’t even know what I’d give to read it lol! February was a month of breaks for me: no writing, barely blogging, sometimes reading, but March has been kinder to me already! So I’m back to all of those and it makes me so happy!
I’m currently rereading Fable, hoping to read Crier’s war soon (but you’re already expecting updates from me from that one haha) and anticipating both Perfect on paper and When we were infinite (10/10 title!!)! Loved reading this, Marie! Have a great March!!
Oh thank you so, so much, you’re too kind <3 I'm happy to hear that you're feeling better after your little break and happier to be back to it all, I hope this feeling will last <3
PLEASE yes update me when you read Crier's War, I cann't WAIT to hear what you think of it :D
Marie! <3 I'm so sorry to hear that seasonal depression is definitely here (I FEEL that) and I hope that spring comes ASAP. I am so excited that you read some good books and wrote some of your fantastic novel (and yes, don't listen to your voice comparing yourself to others; it's never worth it). You prolly already knew this, but I am 100% voting YES to more writing content, if you're willing to share.
<3 I adore you and hope things continue to brighten!
Thank you so, so much Nicole <3 I hope so too! <3 <3
I’m sorry to hear that February wasn’t the best 🙁 Sending you the sunshine from California!! <3 I ~adore~ the aesthetic of your WIP, especially the very first picture! x
Ah thank you so, so much, it means a lot <3 <3 I hope March has been kind to you <3
I felt the same in February, sad and depressed all month, then better at the first sign of sunshine. I’m glad I’m doing better now but angry and how much it gets to me, you know?
I completely get that. it’s tough. we’re doing our very best always. <3 Sending you all the love and sunshine! <3
Omg Marie, don’t beat yourself up because you still had an amazing reading month!! I literally read nothing in February (welp I was reading, just never finished anything) so like!!! GO YOU!!! hahaha it’s honestly fine, I’ll catch up this month.
Also yes you definitely do need to post more about writing please and thank you <3<3<3
Hope you have a wonderful March friend. Oh and thank youuuuu so so so much for mentioning my post omg!! So honoured to be featured. Love ya lots xoxo
Thank you so much, you’re too kind <3 I hope that this month has been better to you, reading-wise <3 and of course! I love your posts always <3
February was just such a weird month for me as well, I hope March is going better for you!! 🌷🥰 I haven’t done any writing at all since starting my Master’s course, but I’m happy to see that you were able to make some progress!! I would love to read more books about writing from you ❤
Thank you so, so much Caro, you’re so sweet <3 I hope March is treating you kindly! <3
I’m really sad to hear you haven’t been feeling well lately 😔 I hope the weather starts getting better there, and that the brighter days will make you happier! I wish there was something I could do!! But I’m sending lots of love 💕 ALSO!! I’m really really happy you loved Crier’s War! I can’t wait to know your thoughts on its sequel too! And I really wanna read A Taste For Love, so I’m glad to hear you enjoyed it. 🥰
Thank you so much Marta, this means a lot <3 I hope I can read Iron Heart soon, SO EXCITED! <3
