Happy November, friends 🍂 Can’t believe how fast this year has flown by. Let’s see what happened, shall we?

The September slump kind of followed me in October. I know it’s the weather, the colder days getting to my mental health again – as it does, every year, but I’m desperate to ignore it. Not sure how that works, but well, I’m trying.
Still, October had some wonderfully bright moments, as well. I got to travel back to see my family for a weekend. I also celebrated my birthday with some books and a fancy delicious restaurant, so that’s been nice.
I hope November will be kind and kinder to the world, as well. Praying every single day.

Monthly Reading Wrap-Up
I didn’t read as much this past month, not sure why, but well, still happy about what I got to read!

THE LEGACIES ☂️ Jessica Goodman is a must-read author for me, now. I really enjoyed The Legacies, rich people with secret societies is all I need to be honest. I wasn’t as captivated by this one, compared to her previous books, but maybe it was my mood at the time. Still really enjoyed it and recommending it to any YA thriller fan! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
THE GETAWAY LIST ☂️ I really love Laura Taylor Namey’s book and was eager to read this one. I didn’t fall for it as much as the other books, mostly due to not connecting as much with the main character, but this was still a great, well-written read! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
THE MEADOWS ☂️ Okay this book was one of my most anticipated reads for 2023 and to be honest… well. It was a bit slower than I expected it to be, but the atmosphere, the story, the, woah. It’s captivating and terrifying and deeply echoes with our real world, as well. Really really highly recommending this, friends. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Book Discoveries of The Month
Bookmarked a couple upcoming releases on my virtual TBR this past month, two books that sound just, excellent.
As always, you can follow me on Goodreads to see my TBR!

PAST PRESENT FUTURE ☂️ Remember Today, Tonight, Tomorrow by Rachel Lynn Solomon? Well, there’s actually a SEQUEL? SET IN COLLEGE?! I’m so in. Add to Goodreads
OUR INFINITE FATES ☂️ I randomly stumbled upon this upcoming book on instagram the other day. I haven’t read anything by Laura Steven, but this book’s synopsis caught my attention. It’s about Evelyn, who can remember all of her past lives and is constantly killed by a supernatural being…whose soul is tethered to hers. This sounds kind of awesome and I don’t know I feel pumped for this?!! Add to Goodreads.

Goodreads challenge: 41/50 books
I’m still ahead of schedule so, yay!

I feel like my progress has been slower in October.
The thing is: I got to the part where I’m writing a lot of things from scratch again and… that takes me way more time than revising.
Still, I kind of managed to write almost every day this October and, most of it all, I’m not giving up.
Worse: I’m actually making plans. Like, who am I, I don’t know.
November’s NaNoWriMo (you know, that terribly exhilarating month where you write a novel… in a month). I can’t participate, since I can’t focus on more than one project at once, but I hope to use the thrill and energy of the community all around to make even more progress with my writing. Fingers crossed.

October has been worse than September, actually. My blogging 2 times a week days really are over, I guess. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, blogging still hasn’t been a priority in the past month. Nor has my inspiration to come here, I guess.
I still got to write two fun posts this past month, ones I’m pretty happy about, so yay! And I do want to get some specific posts out before the end of the year, so we’ll see how that goes. Aside from that, well, we’ll see what happens, next.

On the blog this month: blogging, books & more
I wrote my usual birthday post on the blog this October, filled with what I did in the past year and some of my goals for my 30th year. I feel old. Help.

I revisited an idea I started back in March (woah. Time flies?!) : Blind date with a book! This time, I recommended some books perfect for fall season.

Glad to see that you liked The Getaway List, I got an Arc that I hope to read before the end of the year ❤️ What?? A Today, Tonight, Tomorrow sequel?? I’m running to Goodreads right now!! 😱 I literally had not heard of this, but now I’m so excited!! 😊
Ahh I can’t wait to hear what you think. It was a fun read! 🙂 and YAY! I screamed when I heard the news ahah I’m so pumped!!
Whattt there’s a sequel to Today Tonight Tomorrow??? Also Our Infinite Fates sounds amazing!
RIGHT, I screamed, I’m so excited!!!
I hope you’ll have a wonderful November! <3
I haven’t heard too much about The Meadows but it sounds interesting and I’m glad you enjoyed it so much! 🥰
Congrats on almost writing everyday in October. Honestly keeping up your motivation is one of the hardest parts of writing and I admire your progress so much. I am hoping to use the nanowrimo buzz to get into my first draft a bit more. Best of luck with your next steps. 🫶
It was so, so good, Sophie, I hope you’ll pick it up sometime 🥰
Thank you so,so much. I hope that writing has been going well for you, so far!! <3
test comment (i’ve not been able to comment for a long time lol, so here’s me testing first)
oh wow, of course the one time i write a throwaway comment instead of a paragraph, it works! please discard my previous comment 😂 The Meadows sounds so good! say the word atmospheric, and I’m there. all the best with writing! starting over from scratch is always hard but it often leads to better things.
😂😂 of COURSE it would work ahah 😂 please do let me know though if you get any more issues with it!!
I LOVE love love love The Meadows so much, I’ll have to write a review. I feel like this book hasn’t had much hype, but it’s SO good. Really got into my head ahah. Thank you so, so much, it means a lot!! 🥰 I hope November will be wonderful for you! 🥰
The Meadows has such a beautiful cover and sounds really interesting, too!!
My October was alright I guess? And I wanted to participate in Nano and already plotted so much and since the start of November I haven’t typed a single word, instead imagined everything in my head. Oh well, that has to count for something too haha
It’s such a great book, I hope you’ll get a chance to read it! 🥰
It definitely counts! Write in your head until you’re ready to get the words on the page. And when you do, don’t worry if it’s messy. It’s out there and you can always make it better!! Rooting for you always! <3
