Happy May, friends 🌷 It’s that time of the month again where I’m sharing what I read, did, wrote and blogged about in the past month. Let’s get started, shall we!
May has been.. alright? While I’m still struggling with work and my mental health more than usual, I had some very exciting and happy moments by the end of the month.
My sister came to visit and we spent a couple days in London (!!!!). We hadn’t been able to travel there since 2019 and it’s been such a breath of fresh air to be able to get back to this city, one of my favorite places in the entire world. We walked 10 km a day, spent too much time making piles of books at Waterstones’ and had a great, great time.
I’m excited for June to finally be here. Summer means adventures and I can’t wait to go on more of them! ☀️

It’s been… not the best month, when it comes to reading? I only read 3 books, which I guess is still good, considering everything, but I’m a bit disappointed.
FAMILY OF LIARS ☂️ This was… not quite what I expected it to be? Still entertaining, but maybe a little too dramatic at times? I have a full review up for this, if you want to check it out!

THE ROAD TRIP ☂️ Oh I really enjoyed this one and think I will read everything Beth O’Leary writes, next. A great adult book with a lovely romance, sister bonds and a fun road trip, too. 200% recommending this.

TOKYO DREAMING ☂️ I loved the first book in this duology, but was a bit underwhelmed by this one? Still an entertaining contemporary, but didn’t captivate me, unfortunately.

DO I KNOW YOU ☂️ You all know I adore Wibbroka’s books and… well, their adult book, The Roughest Draft, really own my heart. I’m SO excited for their upcoming adult romance about a married couple pretending they don’t know each other to reignite their flame.

WHERE SLEEPING GIRLS LIE ☂️ I LOVED Ace of Spades so much, I can’t even begin to explain how excited I am to read the author’s upcoming book. This is a Mean Girls with murder story, basically, and I AM HERE FOR IT.

Not ahead, but not behind either, so… good, I guess?
Not much has happened on the writing side, this past month. I have received feedback from some of the beta readers I’d reached out to, which both made me feel happy and a bit nervous, but I guess that’s a normal feeling overall? I haven’t tackled any revisions just yet, as I’m still waiting on a couple of people.
I tentatively wrote, maybe 500 words of something completely different, but I’m a bit paralyzed by starting a new idea, so I haven’t really focused on it, for now.
The month started off alright, with lots of inspiration and blog posts I love…. and ended with a week without blog posts. Something probably no one noticed, but that I still feel guilty about, for some reason. Try and understand my brain.
I have some fun blog posts ideas for this month that I hope I’ll manage to write, fingers crossed!

My May was a mix of weirdly quiet and incredibly stressful! I didn’t read a lot but bought quite a few books and spent most of my time stressing about university and then falling down various entertainment rabbit holes. I am also now the proud owner of a weighted blanket so at least something good came out of May. I hope I can get my life back together in June, catch up on some reading and generally squish myself back into a functioning adult form. I hope you have a wonderful June! ✨

ahhhh i am so jealous you got to enjoy spring in london! when i was there, it was december and while the christmas decorations were gorgeous and all, the sun would set so early! i ended up only going to waterstones twice and i regret it already hahah
i had no idea the author of ace of spades was coming out with a new book!!!!!!!!!! this is very exciting because indeed ace of spades was fantastic and i am a huge mean girls’ fan so hahah

May was mostly good for me, I had some really great times with loved ones and could enjoy nature a lot which always makes me extremely happy! 🙂
I'm looking forward to holidays in the mountains at the end of the month, can't wait to leave the city for two weeks and just go for hikes and baths in the river and just be outside 🙂
