Katharine McGee is good at drama! Here’s another one you don’t want to miss! Welcome to Manhattan, 2118, where we follow the lives of five teenagers as they struggle to find their place at the top of the world. I loved the fun world-building with all those futuristic technologies, the diverse set of characters (5 disctincts POV) and the themes that were explored like class division and privilege. It’s twisty and scandalous, you’re in for a treat!

Pretty Little Liars, Sara Shepard
I was completely obsessed with this series (read it way before the tv show)! We follow a former group of friends three years after their leader, Alison, went missing. Now they are getting mysterious text messages from a person known only as “A”. “A” knows secrets only Alison knew and these girls have plenty of them… You won’t be able to put it down until you’ve found everything out to tie up all the loose ends of the story. It has drama and cliffhangers that will keep you on your toes!

Gossip Girl, Cecily von Ziegesar
Another series I binge read! Gossip Girl is a richly detailed look into the lives of Upper East Side teenagers. It’s full of drama and backstabbing, it’s light, fluffy and fun. The narrative is merciless and it radiates dark humour. If you want to escape for a while and your fantasy involves New York, hipsters, and expensive penthouses, pick this up!

I love this list! I’m not always in the mood for drama (sometimes even fictional drama stresses me out too much) but sometimes it’s so relaxing to care about other people’s problems! I’ve only read American Royals so far and I had so much fun with it! It was so over the top dramatic at times but a delicious read, the perfect book to devour in an afternoon. Clique Bait is still on my TBR and I’m excited to read it at some point this year!
