Hello guys! Happy December! Glad to see you again, how have you been? Are you ready to celebrate the new year? Are YOU celebrating? What are the traditions in your country? Here, like Christmas, it’s a WHOLE thing with delicious food, and pretty lights everywhere and LOTS of tourists. Can’t wait to be done with all of it, haha!
Anyway, enough with the small talk, let’s dive in. Today I’m going to talk about…*drumrolls please* BOOKS! Who’s excited?! New year equals new resolutions but also brand new books we cannot wait to hold in our hands and devour in one sitting. So while browsing through Goodreads I decided to do my top 5 most anticipated books of 2018. Hope it will make your TBR list even more gigantic than before (you’re welcome …).
1. The Belles by Dhonielle CLAYTON
First, did you see that MAGNIFICIENT cover?! No, no I’m not that shallow please. SO excited about this one. It seems to tackle the hard topic of beauty – and what people are ready to do to obtain it – in an imaginative setting. Hoping for many twists and turns!
2. Save the Date by Morgan MATSON
I’m really into Morgan MATSON books. Her writing style is awesome and the characters always feel REAL. So of course I need her new book on my bookshelf, no questions asked. It’s about family and letting some things go in order to move forward.
3. Restore Me by Tahereh MAFI
I’m aware that not everyone enjoyed her writing but I liked it. I really got into the story and I’m impatient to pick it up again to know where this is going to lead. And let’s face it…Warner and Kenji are squad goals!
4. From Twinkle, with Love by Sandhya MENON
After reading “When Dimple Met Rishi”, I’m eager to read another one by Sandhya MENON. This story is about friendship, family, and unexpected love. I bet it’s going to be sweet, swoon worthy and, surely, it will put a smile on our faces! Do we need anything else?
5. Wires and Nerve, Volume 2: Gone Rogue by Marissa MEYER
Usually, I’m not into graphic novels but I totally fell in love with that world and those characters created by Marissa MEYER in “The Lunar Chronicles” series. I just couldn’t say goodbye just yet. Promising sequel + great designs = me jumping up and down impatiently.

I have so many anticipated 2018 releases!! But The Belles is also on my list, along with Obsidio and Save the Date. I’m super excited for The Cruel Prince, Gunslinger Girl, Heart of Iron, Leah on the Offbeat, and Nyxia Unleashed! ❤️

Oh these are some incredible books, and all of them are releases I am so beyond excited for as well. 😀 Morgan Matson is just an incredible author, one of my favourite YA contemporary authors, and I can’t wait for Wires and Nerve because I love Marissa Meyer, I love Iko’s character, and I just really can’t wait for the second half of her story! There are so many amazing books being released next year, I’m in awe of the fact that you managed to pick just five releases. 😀

I remember reading the first Wires and Nerve when I was sick and it really improved my mood! Can’t wait to get my hands on the second one. ? I’m also REALLY looking forward to From Twinkle, With Love, Thunderhead, Tess of the Road, basically anything that starts with a “T” it seems lol. Right now, I only have added around 40 books to my 2018 releases TBR, but I’m sure that’ll change later on 😀

I have 278 books on my TBR list on goodreads…though only one of them is a book that will be released in 2018– I’ve never really followed new book releases. After becoming a book blogger I am more aware of new releases but I still tend to stick to reading older books 😉

I was so excited when I heard there were going to be more Shatter Me books, so you know I am anticipating that book. From Twinkle, with Love is a must for me too. I adored When Dimple Met Rishi and am so excited to read more from Menon. Matson is an auto-read for me. Love her, and All your “honorable mentions” are must reads for me too. I hope we read them all.

I am not a big fan of New Year resolutions, because I believe that if we really want to change an aspect of our lives, we can do it any time, it doesn’t have to be at the beginning of a new year (which is just a day like any other day.) On the other hand, I can understand how people can feel that a new month or a new year is a fresh new start.

I’m still hesitant with Restore Me! I know, I know. #unpopularopinionalert I read the first three and I liked them, but the writing style didn’t work for me. I don’t know – maybe I’ll give it a whirl.
