Souvenirs from across the world !

Hi friends! How are you in this lovely Sunday? I know what you’re going to ask, and I’ll stop you right here. You were expecting another post to feed the wanderlust in you, maybe, and I’m sorry. I hope this something special will make it up to you…

I wrote it in my monthly recap as a teasing, but now it’s official (it was before, but erm, okay, writing it make it seem OFFICIAL, so I’ll do it) : March is going to be filled with some MUCH NEEDED get-aways.

Paris, view of the Seine and the Pont des Arts (Love Bridge)

In two weeks, I’m going to be in Paris for the weekend, with my twinnie, my sister. We’re going to do too many things a day, because we’re crazy, probably eat A LOT. I’m going to BUY BOOKS, because HELLO ENGLISH LIBRARIES. Might do a stop at some of Anna and the French Kiss locations…? And simply, just enjoy hotel life and everything that goes with it.

In three weeks, I’m going HOME. Oh, I’ve been looking forward to that moment, and I just CAN’T wait. I’m studying away from home, far away, and I’m glad I can use some days-off to do the round trip. What I’m going to do, you ask? EAT GLORIOUS FOOD. Have fun and catch up with my family. You have no idea how I miss it.

Okay, so now is the part you’re going to CARE ABOUT. If you noticed the featured image, well you already know. Welcome to SOUVENIRS FROM ACROSS THE WORLD, my brand new feature to show and share some love and forever feed your wanderlust. As the tagline suggests, “A piece of travelling for you”….this is going to be very simple. I’m going to travel, and, for this starting month and according to my plans, TWO of you lucky people will get something from each of my travels! I’m the travelling Santa, delivering all year long!

friends santa

This month, you can get something from Paris, or Alsace -my hometown, which you can get to know in all its gorgeousness right here. WHAT WILL IT BE? Well, as the title suggests, it’ll be a souvenir, and obviously with a personalized note for the lucky winners.

BUT THIS shall not end here, because maybe I’m OVERLY ambitious, but I definitely want to share the LOVE between bloggers. I would love for the two winners, once they get their gifts, to share it on social media, with the hashtag #SFATW (souvenirs from across the world…smart, right, I KNOW). Why, you ask? To see it they got it alright, obviously. BUT…if this goes smoothly and you guys like the idea, well, I would love for this to become a regular feature…and maybe, to include you guys even more in it, too. I have no idea how that would work and would/could develop, but it’s definitely something I’m considering…so PLEASE share and let me know if you’d like the idea? zootopia

This was all the fun, now for some ground rules :

⚓️ You can participate to both of the contests, but obviously you won’t win the two.
⚓️ You have to be over 18, or be able to provide your mailing adress, so I can send you the souvenirs.
⚓️ AND, last but not least, you just have to enter this Rafflecopter giveaway.

Alright, that’s it for today, so…now, it’s YOUR TURN to talk! Do you want to go to Paris, or my lovely hometown? If you’re travelling, where are you heading to, next? And if you’re not, where WOULD YOU LIKE to be going, right now? ✈️

What do you think of this feature? What do you think of the, perhaps whole idea of #SFATW ? Are you EXCITED? Are you going to participate?  Let me know in comments! 💬

  1. I love the hashtag! I always like seeing the connections as things travel across the world. (Every once and a while in my change I get bills that have a “tracking” website on them so you can see where this money has been circulated).

I just booked my trip to Iceland, England and Scotland so I am super excited. It’s been very distracting because all I want to do is look up things for this trip and not do my school work haha

    1. Thank you so much Lauren! I’m really glad to hear you enjoy the idea! 😀 Ohhh, wow, those are great countries, I’d love to go to Scotland and Iceland! I’ve already been to England a few times, but never get sick of it! ❤ Haha, I get the feeling, I'm always so distracted thinking about holidays, instead of focusing on my work, haha!
      Thank you so much! ❤

  2. Oh wow this sounds amazing! I love travelling (and with the amount of holidays I’m going on this year I feel that’s kind of a given) and I always bring back souvenirs for my friends and family, kind of like bring a piece of your holiday home with you, sometimes I go overboard and spend way too much on gifts thought 🙂
I love Paris, I’ve been there twice and the city is so beautiful. I haven’t really been anywhere else in France but there are so many other places which I’m sure are just as amazing as Paris, maybe one day I’ll get around to them!

    1. Ahah, oh I get it, it’s sometimes hard to stop! I always feel like getting TOO many things, too.
Paris is a pretty city, but I have to admit it’s not my favorite, at all, ahah. I really hope you’ll go to other cities in France, too…maybe close to where I live? It’s absolutely gorgeous, I’m sure you’d love it, and I’d give you a tour, ahah 😉
Thank you so much Beth! ❤

      1. I just like buying presents for people, I always overspent on birthdays and Christmas as well 🙂
I’d love to see more of France, relatively speaking it’s close to where I live, only a couple of hours by plane, and what I’ve seen so far is beautiful. If I’m ever close to where you live I’ll definitely take you up on the offer of a tour as well 😀
And that’s all right, I really do love this idea, it sounds amazing!

      2. Oh yes, what I love the most about getting presents, is when people open them and they actually like them, haha, I love that feeling of happiness 😀
Ohh, well yes you’re not that far, and there are so many great places to see! Well sure, if you ever plan on going there, let me know, so I’ll clear my schedule for you :p
Thanks again, so, so much! ❤

      3. Yes, especially when they’re not expecting much. When I went to America for the first time I brought my friend back a lot of presents and she was so surprised and it was the nicest feeling when she was opening everything 😀
Nope, I think around two hours by plane or Eurostar. I could literally go to France for a day trip 🙂 and maybe I could actually, it’s certainly one way to see more of the country a lot quicker 🙂

      4. Ohh yes, it must have been so nice, and, it’s kind of selfish, but it feels so good to know you pleased people 🙂
Well it’s not that far at all! Actually I just looked up because I always want to go to London, haha, I’m just an hour and a half away from London by Eurostar right now, if you ever feel like stopping by 😉
This is a great idea, and you definitely should do that 🙂

        Liked by 1 person

      5. Exactly! And it’s like bringing a little piece of your holiday back with you, so people get a glimpse of what you experienced (whenever I’ve gone to America I’ve brought my friend back tons of American sweets though)
Wow that is a lot closer than I thought it would be, I travel an hour and a half to get to work each day so travelling that to get to another country is nothing! I’ll definitely keep it in mind, thanks 😀
And yeah, I see a lot of day trips coming up in my future sometime, hopefully soon!

      6. Oh yes! I love getting souvenirs for myself, too, haha, it’s selfish a bit but I love the memories that come along with one or another object. It’s just wonderful 🙂
Yes, ahha, well where I’m studying/interning right now is so close to England, I wish I could go there for a weekend or something, hopefully I will 🙂 And you’re welcome, it would be my pleasure 😀

      7. Same here, I have a collection of little things I’ve brought back from holiday with me. I have key rings, cups and glasses, tons of photos and postcards, I got fluffy toys from Disneyland! It’s just nice seeing it and remembering parts of the holiday 😀
Well if you do decide to come to England/London let me know, and I can give you a tour! Europe itself has so many countries so close together it’s really easy to go on day trips isn’t it? It’s definitely something I’m thinking of doing more often now!

      8. Oh yes, it’s so nice, I love those little gifts -kind of why I wanted to give out some myself, too :). It’s so great, and it makes me a bit nostalgic, too… OH, I wish I could travel all the time, ahah 🙂
Ohh well I’ll definitely let you know, then, I’m sure you know about so many places I didn’t explore yet 😀 Yes it’s so easy, yet I don’t know why we don’t think about this more often…

      9. It’s a brilliant idea. And it’s something I haven’t seen around before but there are bloggers all over the world on WordPress so maybe it’ll catch on 🙂
I would love to be able to quit my job and just spend all my time travelling but it’s one of those impossible dreams, you need money to see the world 🙂
Yep, I think unless you’re local there’s always going to be hidden places you don’t see on your holidays. There’s probably places I haven’t been all around the world even thought I’ve been there on holiday.

      10. Oh well I certainly hope so! I need to do some brainstorming to see if I can come up with something nice 🙂
Yes exactly, and I’m always amazed because there are people who seem to be always on the move, on their instagram and stuff, and blogging and I always wondeer, HOW can they just do that, ahah.

      11. I’m sure you’ll find something perfect. Sometimes when I’m shopping for gifts I literally find something randomly and think ‘yes, this is it, the perfect gift’ 😀
God I know, I don’t follow anyone on Instagram (still need to create an account) but seeing travel blogs and everything I just think, what do I have to do to have your life? It must be amazing to wake up in a different country each month, or to constantly be able to travel whenever you feel like it 🙂

      12. I think when I create an Instagram it’ll be more of a personal one than a bookstagram one. Obviously there will be pictures of my books because some of them are so pretty 😀 but I’ll post travel pics and just other things I enjoy as well 🙂

  3. Marie, that is SO nice of you! First of all, you’re incredibly lucky to be heading to Paris so soon. I dream to visit this city since I was little! ^~^ I’m excited to read the posts in this new series; if I can’t travel, at least I can have the chance to get something from this FABULOUS PLACES.
I hope you have a great time in Paris. Enjoy it a lot and eat as many macarons as possible! 💟

  4. I’ve always dreamed of going to France (I can see that Anna and the French Kiss has affected us all 😉 ). I hope you have an amazing time! ❤ And the idea of souvenirs from places. It's an awesome way to connect with different bloggers! I'm looking forward to more. 😀

  5. Oh, I think this is a truly fabulous idea. I’m always in the mood to see more of the world. I visited Paris once when I was very young and loved the atmosphere — and Alsace sounds like an equally lovely place.

PS: As for how to extend this … perhaps invite other people to talk about their hometowns? Excited to see where this project goes!

    1. Aww thank you so much Alyssa, I’m glad you think so! It is lovely, I hope you’ll get the chance to go there someday, I’ll give you a special tour 🙂
Ohh, that’s a great idea, actually, thank you for suggesting it! I would love for this project to extend to other bloggers as well, so this is quite great! I have to think how I can do this, but thank you so much! 😀

    1. oh Yani, you will, I really hope you will, and you can talk about it a lot when you do, I can’t wait to hear about all of your adventures! 🙂 Ohh that’s such a great idea, unfortunately I can’t have snapchat on my phone, it doesn’t work well 😦 but I’ll post on Instagram a lot, and this snapchat idea is quite great, I’m definitely keeping it in mind! Thank you so much, you’re the best! ❤

  7. I love this idea so much, Marie! You always come up with these amazing ideas to spread some love between bloggers 😀 ❤
I've been to Paris once with my mum, so I entered for a souvenir from Alsace. 🙂 It makes me wonder what I could send people from Vienna.

    1. Aww thank you so much Kat, I’m so happy you like it ❤ Well, actually, that's something great to think about, because earlier on someone suggested we could get to know each other's hometowns with this feature … just an idea, but I'm definitely going to try to come up with something where all bloggers can share things with everyone, and just, spread the love even more, hopefully, if people are on board 😀

      1. Well, I still have to think about it, but I think it could be a great idea, and I hope that people would be interested … I still have to figure out how this could be done, though… but thank you so much! I only have ideas, motivation and a lot of hope people would like it, for now, ahah 🙂

        Liked by 1 person

      2. That’s a good way of thinking about it 😉 I am definitely up for it if it ends up being about several places. I am sure there’s something I can find in Vienna that people would like to receive. I work next to a souvenir shop after all hahaha

  8. Honestly, I’d love to just visit both because why not? And I hope you have a lovely time in Paris with your sister when you go, Marie! Food and books are the best!! And, oh my gosh, I swear the gifs you use are always the best. I just watched Zootopia with my friend a few days ago and it is so adorable!! I loved it so much. And the DMV scene made me laugh so hard, haha. Also, thanks so much for the contest! And for #SFATW being a regular feature? Oh my gosh! Yes, if you’re okay with it! ❤

    1. Yes, why not? That’s exactly my feeling when I think about travelling, or plan on going somewhere. WHY stop at one city, ahah. Thank you so, so much, I can’t wait, it’s been hard lately and I really need this ❤
OH yes, wasn't it one of the best movies? It was so much fun, and I loved the fact that some jokes and references were as much for adults as they were for children. And just, well, the sloth. I love sloths, so this was the movie for me, ahah ❤
I'm so happy you like the idea, Summer! I definitely want to make this something regular, and maybe find a way to include more bloggers, so we can get to know each other a bit better…? I'm not sure how that would work out, but I need to think about it 😀 Thank you so, so much for the support ❤
