I’m afraid I don’t have much to share in this part of my wrap-up. Life has been the usual ups and downs this September, filled with work all-month long, busy weekends and lots of writing – more on that below.
Otherwise, not much to share here, really. I’m not a September, or a this whole part of the year kind of person, really, so I’ve been feeling in a bit of a… slump, if I can put it this way.
October hopefully will be a little less, slump-y. It’s my birthday month (on the 15th!) so YAY and I get to see my family a little bit so I’m happy about that. Let’s hope October will be kind ❤️

Monthly Reading Wrap-Up
Back to the usual reading routine, pretty happy I got to read 4 books this month. I fell in love with one of these. Like, really.

ALL THAT’S LEFT TO SAY ☂️ I just loved this synopsis, about a girl going to a private school to figure out what really happened to her deceased cousin. This was such an entertaining, captivating, emotional read. Definitely reading more from Emery Lord asap. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A BRITISH GIRL’S GUIDE TO HURRICANES AND HEARTBREAK ☂️ I really love Laura Taylor Namey’s book and was eager to read this one. I didn’t fall for it as much as the other books, mostly due to not connecting as much with the main character, but this was still a great, well-written read! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

YOU COULD BE SO PRETTY ☂️ I have no words to describe this book. It’s a slap in the face kind of read and a book that should be MANDATORY reading, really. Loved it, 2000% recommending this to anyone. Just read this. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

LUCIE YI IS NOT A ROMANTIC ☂️ If you’re looking for an entertaining, endearing adult romance, Lucie Yi will be great! It personally felt a bit long to me, at times and I wasn’t too compelled by it, but this is completely personal, of course. It was still a good book overall and I really liked its concept! ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Book Discoveries of The Month
The book discoveries section isn’t overflowing this month, but I still added a couple of interesting books to my TBR, so let’s see!
As always, you can follow me on Goodreads to see my TBR!

DEAD GIRLS DON’T SAY SORRY ☂️ I found out about this YA book on good old dying Twitter early this past month and it sounded so intriguing. Two best friends, one of them dies, the survivor is suddenly uncovering all the lies her very best friend told… This is a tale about toxic, complicated friendships and you all know I’m HERE for this. Add to Goodreads
LENNY MARKS GETS AWAY WITH MURDER ☂️ This book is about an ordinary thirty-something teacher, trying to forget the day her mother left her and her dad told her “you did this”… until the day she gets a letter, and starts to properly remember what happened then… this sounds like a mysterious book and I’m so curious to know what happened! Add to Goodreads.

Goodreads challenge: 38/50 books
I’m still ahead of schedule so, yay!

Well, I wrote almost every day in September! Looking back, I realize that I’ve made pretty good progress on my writing, even if I still have like, 3/4th of my book to edit.
My writing mood has been all over the place, from really inspired to feeling stressed about it – especially when I’m getting back to places I need to write, from scratch.
Still, I can feel like I’m building this story in a better way than it used to be, like I’m really finding its roots and, hopefully, it will bloom in all the right ways. Fingers crossed!
My tentative goal is to finish this draft by the end of December. Afterwards… well, we’ll see, but stay tuned 👀

I remember writing that August was terrible, blogging-wise. Well, September was no better. I kept up with my book reviews, especially for the books I got lucky enough to receive / read early, but other than that… Inspiration and, let’s face it, time, hasn’t been on my side in September.
I’ve been busy and the moments I took were dedicated to making progress with my writing so, there’s that. I don’t know what October will bring, to be honest. I will, most likely, keep on writing a couple reviews, but other than that… I seriously don’t know.
I guess time will tell! Thank you all for being here and still reading this, I appreciate you all so much. ❤️

Ah proud of you with all the writing you got through in September, you did so good and deserve like all the cookies and I know you’re not done yet. BUT you still wrote everyday and worked on that draft so yayyyy! It’s been a hot minute since I’ve read anything by Holly Bourne but I am so excited to read her recent release, it sounds so good and the fact you loved it has reassured me that yes I will more than likely adore it.
My september has been pure chaos like I’m working more hours now at my job and trying to find the balance has been hard. I find that by the time I get home I have no energy to blog or do much of anything aside from play Genshin Impact/Minecraft or watch YouTube to like decompress from my day. Then before I know it I need to sleep again…truly I don’t mind waking up early for my job. I just hate how it feels like I have less time in my day somehow, I know it’s probably because I am bad at time management but hey I’ll figure it out eventually.
I do LOVE the autumn mostly for the cooler temperatures although at the moment the weather here hasn’t gotten the memo that we’re now in Autumn. We’ve had a few warm weeks that are out of place for this time of year. I finished my reread of Six of Crows and read When You Trap A Tiger both were such good reads! So my reading last month was pretty nice if a little on the low side but most of my time has been spent playing Genshin tbh.
Hope you have a wonderful October Marie, sending you all my love and hugs 💜
Thank you so, so much, your support with this book just means the world and I hope you’ll want to read it (again!) 🥺🥺
AH I am SO eager for you to read Holly Bourne’s latest, I just adored it and it seriously blew me away. I can’t stop thinking about it. I hope you’ll love it!
I so get the lack of energy when you’re working. I wish I could tell you it gets better, but I feel like, as I get older, it’s just.. the way life is 🥺 it’s all about priorities, in the end. I know someday, I am too tired and have to make resting and just watching a tv show a priority. On the weekends and when I know I have more time, I just try to think about what I really want to do and what matters the most, for me. In the end, it all works out for the best, just takes a bit of getting used to! Always here to support you and chat whenever!! <3
I hope that October will be kind to you, wishing you all the luck with the long hours! <3 <3
A thousand times yes to reading it again. Like I am chomping at the bit to read it again Marie, so excited to see the changes and just will be over here cheering you on always with your writing and this book.
It’s been too long since I last read one of Holly Bourne’s books but I have feeling her latest is just going to brutally hurt my heart in the best way.
Yeahhh honestly still think we should all get a refund because adulting is not what we thought it would be. Like what do you mean we end up being perpetually tired and have to schedule in time for the things we love? Aw same for you, I really should message you more in dms but yes always here for you too lovely 💜
So, so, so grateful for you, Clo, thank you 🥺😭 (and I might bother you with this book by the end of the year, then, aerm 🥺)
Holly Bourne’s latest really HURTS ahah, but it’s just so impactful and relatable and, well, yeah. She writes some of the best books ever, really. I hope you’ll love it!! <3
Adulting is sooooo tiring honestly ahah. Thank you so much, and yes feel free to DM ANYTIME, always here for you whenever <3 <3
Hope you have a great birthday! My sons is on the 13th!
Thank you so much! And oh, happy belated birthday to him!! <3
Your September sounds much like mine where not a lot happened, it was just status quo for me too. I’m looking forward to October being better than September – not that the month was bad, but it was just kinda meh for me. I hope you have an amazing October! ❤️
Thank you so, so much! I hope October has been kinder to you, so far, sending you so much love <3 <3
You’re welcome! And thank you! October has been much better than September so far, which I’m happy about! I hope your October has been lovely! ❤️
I’m so, so happy to hear that!! <3
❤️❤️
Congrats on nearly writing everyday in September! That’s an awesome achievement in itself and I hope you have been enjoying it as well. Even with the dreaded stress accompanying it at times. Best of luck with finishing the draft 🥰
Yay to finding a new 5-star read too!
Have an awesome Birthday and month 🎈💗
Thank you so, so much, Sophie!! I hope October has been wonderful to you!! 🥰
You have yet again influenced me! I want to read You could be so pretty. I haven’t read anything by Holly Bourne yet, but I’m definitely intrigued since you rated it so highly. I have also been in the same mental funk as you. I have terrible luck when it comes to the winter blues. I feel like I skipped over it last year a little bit, but this year it coming fast and hard. I started taking supplements, because they tend to help. I’m so proud of you for writing everyday in September! I can’t wait to hopefully eventually read one of your pieces of work. Sending you all the love xx

OH YAY! Melina, you will LOVE Holly Bourne, really. Her contemporary books are fantastic and the way she talks about mental health is incredibly raw and wonderful, too. I can’t wait for you to read anything by her, really, I hope you’ll love it <3
I'm so sorry to hear that - but also, I feel a bit less alone, so that's nice.. I hope the winter blues won't get us too hard, I feel it already and it's tough.
Thank you so much for all of your support, it really means the world 🥺 hoping that you can read it all someday soon, working on it for sure! 🥺
Wishing you all the very best, sending you so much love! xx
I’m glad you had a good reading month and made progress in terms of writing and editing! I don’t have much to report for September either but I wish you luck with the editing and writing for this month <3
Thank you so, so much, your support means the world to me <3 <3 <3
