Hello everyone! How are you? Are you ready for the last few weeks of 2022?
I’m not a big fan of this time of the year but I guess we can say that spring is slowly making its way over here…
I’m back on the blog today to talk about some of my favorite comfort reads. You know those books you love to return to again and again (even if it’s only to dip into a chapter or two). Those books that cheer you up and keep you warm. Those books that make you smile and forget the outside world for a little while. Yeah… those ones! We love those books, don’t we? So, here’s some of my favorites. Enjoy!

10 YA Comfort Reads to Warm Your Heart

Exactly Where You Need To Be, Amelia Diane Coombs
I totally fell in love with this romantic road trip story about a teen girl’s last chance to have an epic summer with her best friend before everything changes. I adored the mental health rep, the incredible friendships, the complex mother-daughter relationship and all the freaking swoons!! I found myself bursting with pride for the main character as she grew… this story just melted my heart.

The Summer of Broken Rules, K.L. Walther
Packed with heart and emotions, with a big, warm family and a soft romantic relationship. I’m 200% recommending this to every YA contemporary fan! What’s it about? A summer at Martha’s Vineyard filled with wedding festivities, a tradition of playing assassin, and a cute groomsman! This book radiates good vibes, it just had me sitting on my couch, happy, with a huge grin on my face the entire time I read it!

Like A Love Song, Gabriela Martins
In this one, we follow, Natalie, a Latina teen pop star whose image takes a dive after a messy public breakup, until she’s set up with a swoon-worthy fake boyfriend. It’s fluffly, light and freaking adorable (with some serious topics thrown in and a great representation)! And, if like me, you’re obsessed with the fake dating trope, celebrity romances and heartwarming friendhips, this one is totally meant for you!

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, Jenny Han
So… if you still haven’t read this one… what the hell are you waiting for?? This is the story of Lara Jean, who has never openly admitted her crushes, but instead wrote each boy a letter about how she felt and put them in a box hidden under her bed. But one day, all those letters are send and Lara Jean must deal with her past loves face to face. The rom-com moments, the sisterhood and family vibes, the yummy baking… this book will fill your heart with sunshine!

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Ann Brashares
I’ve got such a soft spot for this story! It’s a bit old but still timely and freaking enjoyable! For best friends Carmen, Tibby, Lena and Bridget, this is their first summer apart. A well-worn pair of soft jeans bought at a thrift-shop becomes an unexpected bond to hold the four pals together as they decide to circulate the pants amongst themselves throughout their vacation. A sparkling breath of fresh air, this book captures the spirit of friendship in the most charming manner possible!

More Than Maybe, Erin Hahn
This book made my heart melt! It’s an adorable contemporary romance about two teens that are brought together by their shared passion for music, despite all the problems they face in their day-to-day lives. This story is perfect for any music enthusiast and slow burn romance lovers. I loved the characters, they were truly something special. They had plenty of layers and I was really wrapped up in their story. A delightful little gem you need to read now!

Small Town Hearts, Lillie Vale
The cover and the title alone are screaming comfort read! The rule is quite simple: never fall in love for a summer boy. But it’s easier said than done when the boy in question is a cute artist who spends all his free time at the coffee shop where Babe works. Can Babe keep her distance, or will she break the rule? This one is adorable with the small town vibes, all the delicious cakes and the romance who is as sweet as sugar. You’re definitely in for a treat!

American Panda, Gloria Chao
Mei is a freshman at MIT and she is on track to fulfill her predetermined future: become a doctor, marry a preapproved Taiwanese Ivy Leaguer, produce a litter of babies. But it’s not really the life that she wants and she can’t bring herself to tell her parents that (1) she hates germs and (2) she has a crush on her classmate Darren, who is decidedly not Taiwanese. This was a refreshing story about finding your voice and it warmed my heart more than once!
