I can’t believe that half of 2022 has already come and gone, like, HOW? I feel like I was writing my most anticipated reads for this ENTIRE year, just yesterday.
I also realized that, out of the 30 YA books I was anticipating at the start of the year, I read, like, 3. Oops. Since, apparently, I want to shame myself a little more, I compiled a little list of 10 most anticipated reads for the rest of the year… let’s see by the end of it all just how many of them I managed to actually read, what do you think?!

10 Most Anticipated YA Books For the End of 2022
Tell Me No Lies, Andrea Contos
I mentioned this book a little while ago when talking about the books about sisters I wanted to read and I’m SO pumped okay. It’s about Nora and Sophie, two sisters that aren’t talking much….especially since the party, when Sophie’s boyfriend suddenly disappeared. This sounds like an incredible read with complex sister bonds and I am here for it!

Long Story Short, Serena Kaylor
Long Story Short is about Beatrice, a homeschooled statistical genius. In order to convince her parents to let her go study at Oxford and to show them she can make friends, she’s sent to Connecticut Shakespearean Summer Academy to connect with people… A story about stepping out of your comfort zone with an introvert MC, yes please. This sounds like THE perfect contemporary read.

How Maya Got Fierce, Sona Charaipotra
How Maya Got Fierce is apparently The Bold Type meets Younger, with young Maya landing an internship at a dream magazine… where they think she’s 26 (and not 17). I absolutely LOVE this idea for a story and can’t wait to see how this plays out!

The Lies We Tell, Katie Zhao
I really enjoyed How We Fall Apart by this author and this one sounds excellent. It’s about Anna, starting her freshman year of college and investigating the unsolved campus murder of her childhood baby sitter. There’s mystery and a rivals-to-lovers romance and I’m excited!!

If You Could See The Sun, Ann Liang
Confession time: I’m already obsessed with this book. Alice Sun, the only scholarship student at an elite international boarding school, suddenly realises she’s turning invisible…. and decides to use this new power to find out secrets about her classmates…for a price. This sounds SO so so so good and that cover is so beautiful and I need it today.

Drizzle, Dreams and Lovestruck Things, Maya Prasad
I promise I didn’t add this one because Drizzle. This is about four sisters in their family inn, named Most Romantic Inn in America and it sounds soft and sweet and everything I adore in a YA contemporary okay. I just can’t wait to read these sisters stories.

Never Ever Getting Back Together, Sophie Gonzales
I love Sophie Gonzales’ work SO much and Never Ever Getting Back Together sounds EXCELLENT. It’s about a girl entering a dating competition to get revenge on her ex-boyfriend…. and falling for the girl he cheated with. This sounds WAY too good and I have Taylor Swift’s song in my head and I love it already.

Bad at Love, Gabriela Martins
Gabriela Martin’s Like a Love Song won my heart and I couldn’t be more excited for this new book. Daniel’s a rock star with a bad reputation, Sasha’s an aspiring journalist seeing in Daniel a way to write an unforgettable story… This already screams “messy feelings” and I’m ALL here for it.

Those Summer Nights, Laura Silverman
Laura Silverman’s one of my favorite authors of all times, obviously her upcoming book is going to be on my TBR! In this story, Hannah is still trying to get over her ankle injury and the death of her soccer dreams with it, while juggling with a new summer job... where her ex-best friend and her brother’s surprisingly hot friend happen to be, too. I can’t wait to fall for Laura Silverman’s characters again!!

Creep: A Love Story, Lygia Day Peñaflor
I loved All of This Is True SO much by this author, I’m excited to read this book even if it seems… well, creepy, that’s the word. It’s about this perfect couple in high school and Rafi, admiring them from afar, wanting to become their closest friend. I’m really intrigued by this book and, if it’s anything like Lygia’s other book, I’m going to be obsessed with it!
