Hello everyone, happy new year!! Wishing you all the best for 2022! May it be filled with joy, awesome people and lovely books!
I’m back on the blog today to talk about…all the books I want to read this year (ok ok not ALL the books, I made a little selection of 10…)! There are some new books but also old ones that may have been on my TBR for way too long and just looking at them makes me scream “What the hell are you waiting for??! They sound amazing!”.
So here’s my list, enjoy my little bookworms!

10 promising books I want to read in 2022

Boys I Know, Anna Gracia
A book about messy boys and messy relationships? I’m all in! I’m really looking forward to reading the story of this “just good enough” girl. It seems to deal with important topics like sex, love, college and relationships. A book about finding the real you when you’re surrounded by all these expectations. It sounds SO good!

Windfall, Jennifer E. Smith
I’ve had this book on my TBR for years now and I don’t understand why I still haven’t read it! This one is about an 18 year old winning the lottery and how money can change everything, in both a good and a bad way. I think it’ll be a bit predictable but it sounds like a really fun read!

Parachutes, Kelly Yang
A modern immigrant story focusing on two girls navigating wealth, power, friendship and trauma. It sounds like such an important and powerful read, I can’t wait to get my hands on it! I bet it will leave me speechless and maybe I’ll even shed a few tears…

The Similars, Rebecca Hanover
Clones in a prestigious school? Uncovering dark truths? Oh my god, I’m so in! I hope it’ll be full of twists and turns. I hope it’ll make me gasp out loud. The story looks so unique, I’m really eager to dive right in!

Circe, Madeline Miller
To be honest, I’m not really into mythology and I haven’t read anything about it but there is something about this one that is literally calling me! I’m still a bit wary that’s why I haven’t read it yet but hell I really want to. Give me all the adventures, the betrayals and the magic! And a complex heroine? Oh my god, yes!

The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, Suzanne Collins
I’m a huge fan of The Hunger Games fan so I absolutely need to read this one. Haven’t got around to it yet but it’s definitely on my list. I know it won’t be as good (it can’t be) but I’m still looking forward to read a bit about the origins of The Hunger Games.

The Ex Talk, Rachel Lynn Solomon
Enemies-to-lovers featuring a radio show? I need this right now! It sounds cute and light hearted. Having read her other books, Rachel always manages to make her characters genuine and flawed so I’m super excited to get to know these new ones!

Lucie Yi is not a Romantic, Lauren Ho
“An ambitious career woman signs up for a co-parenting website only to find a match she never expected”. The blurb alone has me hooked! This unique story sounds funny and smart. I bet we’re in for such a fun ride!

Love, Lists & Fancy Ships, Sarah Grunder Ruiz
A yacht. A bucket list. A kiss with a stranger. Call me intrigued. It looks like a rom-com but it seems like so much more as it also deals with grief and family. Emotional, heartwarming and sweet, I’m so pumped to read this one!

After I Do, Taylor Jenkins Reid
Hi, I’m a Taylor Jenkins Reid fan and I NEED to read all of her books. I absolutely adore her, her writing, her imagination, the way she makes her characters so real and the important topics she focuses on. It sounds like such a beautiful story about relationships, I can’t wait for all the feels!

I hope you end up enjoying these! I read a ballad of songbirds and snakes quite a while ago and thought it was alright except it was way too dragged on at the end 😂hope you like it more than I did!
Thank you so much 🥰
Oh, that’s too bad! Fingers crossed I enjoy it 😅
😘😘
I enjoyed Windfall! It was a book that stayed on my mind when I wasn’t reading. The Ex Talk and Parachutes are books I’m looking forward to reading as well (eventually) 🙃

I hope you love all these! I know a lot of people hated The Hunger Games prequel, but I thought it was interesting. I can’t resist stories about terrible characters.

Circe is such a beautifully written book, the writing is lyrical but not flowery.
That’s great! I don’t enjoy it when it’s too flowery.
Can’t wait to get my hands on it! 🤗🤗

This year, we’re definitely reading those!! No more stalling! 😁
I gotta admit that I wasn’t super impressed with Windfall. It was enjoyable, but not a favorite. Then again, you totally know where I stand on Love, Lists and Fancy Ships! I hope you’ll love all your 2022 reads, Nyx!!
Oh, that’s too bad 😕😕
Yeeees, I do 😏
Thank you so much Kat! ❤️❤️
I really enjoyed Windfall, it has one of the most amazing fictional parents I’ve ever read!
I’m even more excited to read it now 😁😁
Thanks for stopping by 😘
These all sound amazing! I just finished another Rachel Lynn Solomon book so I’m trying to find something to fill the void and the Ex Talk sounds so good – will definitely have to check it out along with a couple other titles on this list! 🙂
Thank you! 😊
Awesome!! So glad I made your TBR grow a bit 😉

Circe is an AMAZING book. If you havent, check out Song of Achilles, by the same author, which is an epic and heart-wrenching book.

I have only read The Ex Talk from this list and it’s a book I really adored, so I hope you love it as much as I did. I have Sarah Grunder Ruiz’s book on my TBR waiting to be read. After I Do is the only TJR I haven’t read and I just know it will WRECK me.

Yeees, it really sounds so so good! Can’t wait to read it 😁😁
Thanks for stopping by 😘
I do want to read The Ballad of songbirds and snakes and maybe Circe. I love mythology. But right now I am focused on finishing the Narnia series (almost finished it) and read one book of the Lord of The Rings that I haven’t read yet (I read the series last year). I also want to read two Christian books, listen to two Steve Berry books, read two books by Rachel Hartman, and maybe read the least book by Kent Wayne. I also want to read some of the books I already own.
Yaaay! 😊
That’s awesome!! Happy reading and thanks for stopping by 😘😘
I can’t believe I still need to read Songbirds & Snakes but at least I’m not alone 😅 I have read Circe though and adored it, although I’m definitely into mythology. I have quite a few Jennifer E Smith books on my tbr too – completely forgot about them 🙈
I hope you end up loving all of these & have a wonderful year too.
Haha, yaaaay! 😂😂
Hope I’ll enjoy it!
Haha, it happens 😂
Thank you so so much, here’s to an amazing bookish year! 😘😘
Love the sound of boys I know! And Circe is a wonderful book! Definitely want to try after I do as well.
Yaaay! Can’t wait to read them all 🤗🤗
Thanks for stopping by 😘
The only one of these I’ve read is The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. I really wanted to read that one but then read some underwhelming reviews when it first came out. But I actually enjoyed it a lot more than I expected to. Hope you enjoy these reads in 2022!
I hope I’ll enjoy it!! 🤞
Thank you so much 😘😘
I had a copy of Windfall, but ended up putting it back at the bookstore and now buying it. Now I regret it haha. I may have to go back and buy it. I didn’t really like Circe or The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes as much as I hoped I would. I hope you get the chance to read all of these books on your list this year!
Haha 😂😂
Oh, that’s too bad! I hope I won’t be disappointed 🤞
Thank you so much! Happy reading 😘😘
