Personality, Hogwarts, Brains and Career : the awkward tests of the Who I Am Tag

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening friends! How are you in this lovely Sunday? Today I’m changing things up a bit, because I have decided to reveal a bit about myself instead of writing the usual discussion or traveling post. Who said I couldn’t be surprising?

I was tagged by one of my favorite people ever, Kat @ Life & Other Disasters, and the lovely Melissa @ BookNerdMomo to answer these. Took quite some time to get through all of the tests, but I had lots of fun and think that the answers definitely got me right. So without further ado…

What is the meaning of my name?

Okay so here’s what I found online…

French cognate of Mary, which is derived from the Hebrew Miryām, a name of debated meaning. Many believe it to mean “sea of bitterness” or “sea of sorrow.” However, some sources cite the alternative definitions of “rebellion,” “wished-for child,” and “mistress or lady of the sea.” The name is borne in the Bible by the mother of Jesus, the son of God.

So apparently I’m a very bitter and rebellious person, also loves the sea or something. Read into this how you like it after all, hahaha. My name wasn’t chosen for its particular meaning, at all ahah.

What is my Myer-Briggs personality type? (Link)

Okay, heads-up if you ever take this test: the answers are crazily accurate. At least they are for me.

the-advocate“Advocates tend to see helping others as their purpose in life, but while people with this personality type can be found engaging rescue efforts and doing charity work, their real passion is to get to the heart of the issue so that people need not be rescued at all.”
“Advocates just need to remember that while they’re busy taking care of the world, they need to take care of themselves, too.”
Strengths: Creative, Insightful, Inspiring and convincing, Determined and Passionate, Altruistic
Weaknesses: Sensitive, Extremely Private, Perfectionnist, Can Burn Out Easily
“Advocates will take the time necessary to find someone they truly connect with – once they’ve found that someone, their relationships will reach a level of depth and sincerity that most people can only dream of.”
“One of the things Advocates find most important is establishing genuine, deep connections with the people they care about.”
“In friendship it is as though Advocates are searching for a soul mate, someone who shares every facet of their passions and imagination.”
OH, and I’m like Martin Luther King and Mother Teresa apparently…I guess I’m doing okay?

What is my Zodiac Sign?

I’m a Libra, which often means I’m sensitive and seek balance, beauty and sense of justice. It also says about me that I’m willing to sacrifice my own happiness for others’ which is very true,  and that I take very long to make decisions which is also true. But well, I don’t really believe in horoscopes because I don’t trust that anyone born between September and November have the same trail of thoughts and values haha.

What is my Hogwarts House? (Link)

Yay, I’m a Hufflepuff!!

What are my Learning Styles? (Link)

Just like Melissa, I kind of suspected I had a writing and reading preference when it comes to learning. I always used to write things down and read them tons of times for the words to get printed inside my head. So the results really weren’t too surprising. And, suspense, here are my results….

  • Visual 7
  • Aural 6
  • Read/Write 11
  • Kinesthetic 4

You have a mild read/write learning preference!

Am I Right or Left Brain Dominant? (Link)

I had no idea what to expect but, seriously, if you’re bored, do this test. It’s weird to answer all of these questions haha. According to this, I am using my brain equally, which either mean I am like super smart, or just unable to decide how to think about things. I’m thinking it’s more of the latter here, maybe my brains are in constant fight haha.

What is my Blood Type?

I don’t know, and I’m lazy to check haha.

What Career Am I Meant To Have? (Link)

I prayed to get that one right, but I swear I didn’t cheat haha. Even if it’s just a test, well…it’s good to dream, and in my dreams I’m meant to be a … Writer, yay !

You have a skill for language, your imagination is vast and you are artistic and creative. Your brain is just overflowing with ideas, and all you have to do is get a piece of paper and share it with the world. You were born to turn words into magical stories.

Which Divergent Faction Do I Belong In? (Link)

I didn’t know what to expect here at all, maybe Erudit? So I guess that was kind of a surprise to learn I’m like Tris, I don’t see myself leading a rebellion anytime soon though haha. Anyway, I’m guess that for this, I am…Divergent!

You deviate from the norm. The aptitude test is inconclusive. It cannot determine just one faction for you, Divergent. Your mind is ceaselessly changing. You’re creative, with a strong sense of self, and you have a clear picture of who you are and what you want. You stand out from the crowd. You may pose a threat to the norms of society, but you are unwilling to give into them.

What Does My Birth Order Say About Me? (Link)

I’m the Baby of the family apparently, haha, since I only have one wonderful older sister….According to this, I’m supposed to be a Free Spirit, Risk Taker, Charming…I’m not sure about all of these things haha.

I’d love for these bloggers and friends to do these kind of tests, if they’re up for it obviously!

Reg @ SheLatitude

Fadwa @ Word Wonders

Donna @ ChocolatenWaffles

Shanti & Shar @ Virtually Read

Do you recognize yourself in some of my answers? Are we secret-spirit twins? Do YOU believe in astrology and horoscopes? What is your dream career – besides blogging and reading books, obviously ? Let’s chat about you in comments!

  1. I so love that we scheduled this for the same day 😀 And that we are the perfect rare advocates!! Let’s make the world a better place! Haha, I was so not happy when I saw Jon Snow in the list of famous advocates xD I mean, ouch!!!! I don’t want … shit spoilers!
Haha, you’re smarter than me! My brain can’t use it’s right side –‘ I knew you’d get writer!

    1. OH YES me too, we had a connection here haha :p
Oh I’m not smarter at all, we just use different parts of our brains…which means we complete each other perfectly 😀

  2. Agh, that was super fun to read about your different answers and learn more about you! (I’m an INFP-T 😛 But guess what, I believe JK Rowling is an INFJ too. 🙂 BUT I HAVE SHAKESPEARE. XD ) *clicks links*

      1. YOU ARE NOT A BORING PERSON. If you were, why would people love you so much??? 😉 ❤

Okay! 🙂 Hmm, let's see. Well, I know the meaning of my real name, but not May… *looks it up* HEY LOOK IT'S A VARIANT OF "MARY" TOO! *high fives* It also says it's a month name, like April and June.
I am le INFP-T, and it seems a lot of writers are??? (Except for JK Rowling, who COULD be INFP, but she isn't. 😦 )
I am a Scorpio! I don't really know much about it except for the fact that I'm a SCORPION! 😛
#Ravenclaw YAAAS 😉 (Hufflepuff is great though. It was underrated for some time, before a beloved little man name NEWT came along. ❤ )
        OOH I TOOK THAT TEST. I don't remember what I got exactly, but I know read/write had 13. 😛
        I am both! I believe it was L: 46% and R: 54%
Oh look, I don't know and I'm too lazy to check as well. *high fives*
A WRITER YAYAY I WAS SO HAPPY WHEN I GOT THAT. (And I remember taking that quiz before. BUT I DIDN'T CHEAT. 😛 )
Divergent! I was expecting Erudite too, but Divergent was the most, Erudite second, and Amity the third. Dauntless was the very last. XD
Apparently I'm a natural leader, ambitious, and responsible??? Honestly, I could only describe myself as responsible, and half the time I think I'm being responsible I'm actually not. XD

      2. YAY, a variant of my name, WE ARE SECRET TWINS! 😀
I so agree with you that Hufflepuffs were a bit underrated, but I loved Newt so, so much! ❤ ❤
Hahahahahaha, well…maybe you're still responsible, according to your principles, so that's okay? 😛

  3. I don’t put any stock in horoscopes or most of these personality quizzes/things, either. The Myers-Briggs one is interesting, because that does tend to be pretty accurate. I got The Advocate, too, but it was still only about 90% on the mark, to be totally honest. 🙂

    1. I guess they’re always easily figured out, which makes the whole thing a bit less entertaining – also even we can’t understand ourselves at times (I know I do) so I guess no amount of personality tests are going to give us the right answers to anything ahah 🙂 The Myers-Briggs test is really interesting, I agree 🙂 Thank you so much!

  4. I was tagged for this one as well and I can’t wait to do it! I did the Myers-Briggs thing a while ago and it was scarily accurate, but I don’t remember what is was. 😂 I tend not to believe in horoscopes since most of the predictions are made up by people lol, but it’s fun to look at!

    1. Oh yay, I can’t wait to see your answers! I think the Myers-Briggs is really accurate too, it’s crazy but also great to learn about yourself this way 🙂 Haha right but it’s fun to read at times 😂

  5. I’m so glad you ended up having fun doing these quizzes, Marie! They were definitely a great way to spend an afternoon fo me. 😁
The Myer-Briggs personality test does seem to be scary accurate. While reading through mine I was actually shocked by how much it fit me. It’s weird how a little test of questions can equate to something that accurate. Yay for reading/writing learning preferences! I used to read things back to myself a ton too. I still do it but now I tend to read it out loud whereas I used to not do that. And I knew you would get writer for the career quiz! 😊
Great answers! I loved reading them. ♥

    1. OH thank you so much Melissa! I had a lot of fun doing this, thank you! 😀
I agree it’s crazy how accurate this is, but it’s also great to read and recognize so much of yourself in this. Usually tests aren’t this accurate ahah 🙂 Thank you!! ❤

  6. This is a great tag Marie, and I really enjoyed reading all your answers as well. I was tagged in this one by Melissa too and I can’t wait to get around to it myself because it looks like so much fun. Plus I always love taking part in quizzes like these.
I guess it just goes to show name meanings don’t really mean a lot because you’re definitely not a bitter person, you’re one of the nicest people I’ve met on WordPress, and just in general. Also yay I’m a Hufflepuff as well! 😀
I haven’t actually taken any of the other quizzes yet (obviously I know what my star sign is though) so I guess when I get around to this tag I’ll have a fun afternoon of taking part in them all ahead of me! 😀

      1. Well actually I thought I would be using more my right than left brains, logic and I sometimes aren’t really friends haha so I guess that was a bit surprising – but good, in a way. 🙂

  7. Ooh perfectionist, is it? It’s definitely accurate then. ❤ LOL I'm curious as to what my result would be… and omg so true, there's no way everyone born within a certain timeframe has the same characteristics. They're fun to read though haha. This was such a fun tag aha. 🙂

  8. I love the Myers-Briggs personality test! I’m not a huge believer but it’s always fun to see which traits I identify with, and which traits I don’t, and Myers-Briggs has always been the most accurate out of everything else I’ve taken. I think humans are much more complex than that, but hey, what’s the harm? 😉

Thanks for the tag and for sharing your answers with us, Marie! I really enjoyed reading this, and I have a feeling I’d love doing it as well. ❤

    Liked by 1 person

    1. I agree, we’re all way too complex to be figured out in some kind of tests, but it’s always fun to see what you end up with ahah 🙂 Thank you so much, Reg! If you have time and haven’t done this yet, I’d love to read your answers! 🙂

  9. This is such a cool tag!

I’ve never done a lot of these. On Meyers-Briggs I know I’m INTP, but I can’t remember what the T is for? The only letter that is actually STRONG is the I (introvert, go figure) and the rest I’m always close to 50/50. And yet … Every time I’ve taken that thing I’ve gotten the same results!)

I took the brain one just now. I got right-brained, which is funny since my academic background is ALL statistics and economics. Of course, I’m also BLOGGING at the moment, so maybe doing it in the middle of the workday might change things? I’m very curious, lol 🙂

I’ll have to try the rest of these in the near future 😀

  10. Wow, Marie, we’re actually super similar. We’re both INFJs, Libras and we use both sides of brain equally. I don’t know what that means, but yay!
I don’t know exactly where I stand on my Hogwarts house. The first time I did the test, I ended up on Slytherin, which is my favorite Hogwarts house so I was thrilled! But I think I was a bit biased and answered the test picking the answers that matched Slytherin the most, hahah. The second time, though, I decided to go with my intuition and ended up on Ravenclaw. I do relate with a few aspects, but I also like Slytherin so much, so I don’t know where I do belong, hahah.

    1. Ohh yay, that’s so great! It means we were made to be friends 😀
Maybe it means you belong to both houses, both want to have you in their ranks for sure 😀

  11. We have so many answers in common! Both writers and using our brain equally 😉 I love, love, love that Nick gif. He’s my favourite on New Girl hahaha But I have to say, I am surprised how many people don’t know their blood type. It’s a useful thing to know in an emergency.

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Haha Nick is my favorite on New Girl just as well. I’m getting a bit tired of this tv show lately though, I feel like it’s not as good as it used to be?
You’re right, it is useful…I need to check haha.

      Liked by 1 person

      1. YES that’s exactly the feeling I get just as well; It makes me sad, it was such a good show but it’s less fun with every episode, I watch out of habit more than out of need to have a good laugh, haha.

  12. Awesome tag… I can’t resist to do it myself. I will very soon.
Fellow INFJ here and balanced-brain as well.
I’m a Sagi but my very best friend is a Libra lol.
I can’t wait to take the other tests…

P.S. I’m your new follower and you got me with Hogwarts lol.
It’s very nice to meet you. 🙂

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Aww thank you so much, it’s great to meet you too and to know that we have so much in common already 😀 Can’t wait for you to take the other tests, hope you’ll have fun 🙂

  13. YAY great to hear that you are also a Hufflepuff! (I’m part Puff, part Claw). These tests are so much fun, especially when they are accurate or tell you something about yourself. I was obsessed with the MBTI for a time as well! Thanks for sharing, Marie!

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Thank you so much, Jeann! I agree, and the MBTI one definitely is a good one, it told me so much about myself that I didn’t really see, but that makes sense 🙂
