Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, friends! I hope your Sunday is or was great. What are you reading weekend? I want to know ALL about it. Alright, I have decided again to write a Sunday Post, because once in a while, we all need to settle down and catch up, right?
In case you didn’t know, this is a special feature created by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Obviously I have A LOT to share with you guys, otherwise I wouldn’t be doing this, so, here goes for my usual craziness!
Trying to get some books off my endless TBR…📚
Okay, so it’s been a pretty CUTE week, in terms of reading, I’d say? You all know I’m a sucker for contemporaries, right? Well, I just read sweet books this week, starting with my first Kasie West book, The Distance Between Us. Summing it up in one word, it would be, CUTE.
I have read two of Sarah Ockler’s books this year, and one (The Summer of Chasing Mermaids) was even a HURRICANE for me, so…I bought another one of her books, and it’s going to be very, very Bittersweet.
Keeping the blogging-frenzy alive ! ✏️
In case you missed it, here’s what I talked about on the blog this week:
🔹 I finally launched my Souvenirs From Across The World feature! This is a feature to allow book bloggers to talk about their countries, hometowns, share pictures, advice, clichés, or even TALK ABOUT BOOKS from their country / written by local authors… This is a trial run, and I am OVER THE MOON with your enthusiasm and your blog posts. You can see it all here -and visit France with me!
🔹 I AM EXTENDING THIS because let’s face it, I am crazy. If you want to talk about your country, your hometown, books and everything, YOU STILL CAN FOR A FULL WEEK! Just don’t forget to come back to my blog post and leave a comment with your link, so I can add you!
🎁 If you are interested in sharing actual souvenirs with other book bloggers, today is THE LAST DAY to subscribe! If you want to do so, it’s HERE.
🔹 I have read 36 books so far this year, and I managed to pick TEN of my favorites. That was HARD, but necessary, so you can all GO read these.
🔹 I answered A LOT of your questions to celebrate my 500 followers, THANK YOU again, you guys are INCREDIBLE. This first part is all about blogging and reading.
🔹 I reviewed Never, Never, a fantastic book… right up until the end.
Sharing the love around the book blogging community 💖
I know I am bothering with this, but first of all, check out all the FANTASTIC blog post from people participating in #SFATW. They are all absolutely gorgeous and will certainly make you want to travel and love these bloggers to bits.
🔹 The incredible CW @ Read, Think, Ponder, is celebrating her THREE years of blogging! She answers some questions and is giving away some books. Show her some love, she is one of the best bloggers out there.
🔹 Lauren @ Wonderless Reviews is sharing something INCREDIBLE called, Blind Date With a Book. Basically it makes you want to buy all the books. That’s the dream, right?
🔹 Jillian @ Rant and Rave About Books is comparing UK and US Slang Words. SO useful and just incredibly well-thought.
🔹 Michelle @ The Writing Hufflepuff wrote a thoughful discussion post about romanticising abusive relationships.
🔹 Kat @ Life & Other Disasters shared 5 of her favorite blog posts, and WHY are you still here, go read these now, they are just as awesome as she is (well, almost).
Throwback on this week ⌛️
Life as an intern 📓
This was my last full week at my internship, I’ll be officially done with it next Tuesday night, and officially ON HOLIDAYS. So, yeah, I guess I am pretty happy/excited/FREE.
And the rest of it 🙀
I am officially DONE with school, meaning that I won’t have to set foot at my university again. I got a pretty last grade at my final exam, and I’m now only waiting for the rest of it. KEEP your fingers crossed for me!
Moving out’s in a week as well. Did I already mention how I HATE packing? Well, I feel like this is going to be fun, because let’s face it, moving out is just like packing, but in much, MUCH worse.
HOLIDAYS are officially PLANNED, and I am GOING AWAY someplace I LOVE with my twinnie sister. I can’t wait. More on that later…
What to expect next 💭
More answers to celebrate my 500 followers, where I will be talking about my hobbies, more personal questions, a zombie apocalypse and other random questions. Hopefully MORE Souvenirs From Across The World blog posts -am I annoying yet? Sorry. I love you. Reviews, announcements for July, and more about some travelling plans as well….
What a fun week! Congrats on the five hundred followers, I’m sure you’ll receive more 🙂 And thanks for sharing blog posts around the blogsphere. I have read some of these and they are indeed insightful reads. I’ll sure be checking the others though!

Enjoy your holiday, Marie! I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you 🙂 Where are you going on holiday? some where warm and sunny? Good luck with your moving out, just see it as the start of a new adventure (I always did when my parents and I were on the verge of moving again).

I loved The Distance Between Us. My favorite Kasie West book is On the Fence. I’ve read all of her books. I loved reading the around the world posts this week. What a great idea. 😉 I wanted to do one on the United States, but I didn’t get a chance to write one by today. I’m still planning to do a Philadelphia post with Fourth of July coming up next week. Thanks so much for mentioning my slang post. 😊 I haven’t read any of the posts you linked, so I better go check them out. Congrats on finishing school. That’s so exciting. I’m sure your grades are excellent. And good luck with your move. Moving is always so stressful but at least you can celebrate on vacation. I can’t wait to see where you’re going. 😎

Thank you so, so much, yes definitely stressful a bit, but I'm excited for holidays to finally start 🙂

Oh, that’s good news. I was out taking pictures today at my vacation house in Maryland. I was thinking maybe I’d show off the East Coast of the US. And maybe Southern California since I used to live there.

We already talked about the whole internship and school being done! I hope you don't worry too much about the future and get to enjoy your holidays for now 🙂 you deserve it!!! I hate packing as well. I kid you not, I started packing for my 6-month-long exchange semester the night before flying away (I had to be at the airport at 4 or 5 AM). Okay … I prepared it sort of before in bits and pieces, but my mum had to help me or I would have never gotten it done … nevermind that I took WAY TOO MUCH with me.

You’re welcome Kat! ❤ and thank you, yes I'm going to try not to freak out too much and relax for now 🙂 Hahaha, packing is always SO hard, I hate it because I have no idea what to take with me ahah. But the worse is probably when I come back, because I always do with tons of books that doesn't fit in my suitcase ahah.

I absolutely have the same problem! Mostly I just try to carefully put as many books between my clothes and the rest of them in my backpack. My back will hurt for days because it’s so heavy, but at least I don’t have to pay for overweight hahaha

Great post Marie! And congratulations on finishing uni and finishing your internship on Tuesday. ❤ It sounds like you'e got some great things planned for the summer, I definitely can't wait to hear more about your SFATW feature as well. I'm the same though, terrible with packing. I will live out of my suitcase when going on or coming home from various holidays! 😀
I actually plan to pick up both Kasie West and Sarah Ockler's book next month, they've been on my to-read list for a while so I'm finally getting around to them! 🙂

Ohh I remember that feeling, the break after all the insane work during the school year, it was always the best feeling in the world when there wasn’t as much hectic stress surrounding everything I did and I could start relaxing again! 🙂 It sounds like you’ve got some great plans to make the most of your summer as well!
Why I’m starting them, along with more than a few YA contemporaries on my shelves, if the weather gets nicer I’ll sit in the garden with my Kindle and read in the sun for an afternoon or two! 😀

Oh yes, well I’m so ready for this feeling to come around, ahah, I’m exhausted and in need of a real break 😀
Ohhh that’s such an awesome plan. I can’t wait to do that as well, it’s the perfect thing to do in the summer.

Ahah I don’t know either. Well, even if I go to bed late, I can’t seem to wake up late…is that what being an adult feels like? ahah

Being an adult is going to bed late and staying in bed the next day till midday because you’re so tired! At least that what it feels like for me! 🙂
LikeLiked by 1 person
Haha well being an adult feels like wanting to scream and run away from responsibilities while watching cartoons hahahaha, it feels like that for me 😛
LikeLiked by 1 person
Oh same here, I dread being given more responsibility than I currently have at times, it’ll happen one day though!

Oh I get it. I’m currently having to adult a lot, and I hate it, because I feel like people are making even the simpler things SO complicated. It’s so annoying
I’m glad I got books to get out of this world for a while ahah 🙂

I’m at the stage where I technically am an adult, but I don’t feel like one. Oh I get that a lot, but then I also get complicated things that are made even more complicated! No winning with this one!
Oh same here, I don’t know what I’d do without books to escape, at least for a little while! 😀

Ugh I feel like I’m at the same stage, and I don’t really like it, I’d rather be younger and have less responsibilities and complicated stuff to deal with

I imagine it’ll be quite interesting! I’m thinking how to make it exciting for people who have done it the first time around… maybe you could have it more themed, i.e. the first one is a more general introduction to the blogger’s city, the next one could be more specific to the blogger’s favourite restaurants/activities/etc. Travel is also in the culture and not just… sight-seeing, I guess. I’ve really been enjoying reading the posts people have put up, though! ❤

Yes, this is EXACTLY what I’m thinking about, Reg, you are reading my mind! I’d have to find enough themes to make it not boring, of course, but if people are interested, I think it’d be quite great, I love what everyone came up with, and the enthusiasm, ❤ ❤ Thank you!!
