It’s pre-dinner time for grounders

Hi guys! It’s already been a month?! I guess so ’cause here I am again! How are you? How was your month? I wanna know everything. I’ve been super busy with work and I just can’t wait for July to enjoy some well-deserved holidays. So today I chose a perfect recipe for a buffet between friends. With summer on its way, I don’t know about you but it feels really good to eat outside ! But let’s face it, there are also rainy days during this wonderful time of the year, so here’s a thrilling tv show that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

I’m coming back with a brand new recipe for you guys and this time it’s not for sweet tooths. If like me, you love to invite friends over and have a nice buffet dinner, just keep reading. This recipe is always impressing everyone and you don’t need to be an expert atΒ cooking. LetΒ me introduce you to…stuffed baguette ! Yeah, it doesn’t sound so yummy but I can assure you that you’ll devour it and that all of your guests are gonna ask you forΒ the recipe.

1. First of all, you need to prep this on the eve of your big dinner, it works really well as an aperitif, for a buffet or a picnic ;
2. Place eggs in saucepan, add cold water to cover eggs, heat over high heatΒ justΒ to boiling and remove from burner ;
3. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl (pickles, ham, cream cheese, eggs, gruyere) ;
4. Cut the baguette in length, remove the inside of bread and fill in with the mixture ;
5. Wrap tightly the baguette in aluminium foil and put it in the oven for about 20 minutes ;
6. Let it rest for 30 minutes before putting it in the fridge until the next morning ;
7. Cut the baguette in slices (not too thin or the slices will just fall apart!) and there you go, it’s ready to be eaten (cold or tepid) !

INGREDIENTS – for approximately one baguette :

I’m not that fond of creepy and scary tv shows, I’ll admit it…I’m more a marshmallow kind of girl ! But since the trailer came out, I’ve been really curious about this one show in particular…the 100 ! The plot really intrigued me and it was something I would gladly read about. So I decided to give it a try and well…I’m totally hooked !

The series is set 97 years after a nuclear war wiped out almost all life on Earth. The only known survivors are living on 12 space stations – called together “The Ark” – in Earth’s orbit. Resources are scarces and,Β in a program called “The 100”, one hundred juvenile delinquents are send back to Earth in hopes of possibly re-populating the planet. We follow a group of teens as they attempt to survive in this planet they have only seen from space. Confronting both the wonders and the dangers of this new world, they struggle to form a community and they soon discover that not all humanity was wiped out – some survived the war…

  1. With tons of plot twists, it keeps you on the edge of your seat,
  2. The dynamics between characters and the evolution of each one,
  3. Great backdrops and locations to admire,
  4. Its portrayal of powerful and strong female characters,
  5. A version of the future that leaves you craving to know more about,
  6. A mix between the past and the present with well-thought flashbacks,Β always keeping you guessing,
  7. Very original, thrilling & fast-moving sci-fi storyline,
  8. Nobody is entirely good nor bad, everything is shades of grey and it makes the characters believable in their motivations,
  9. A well-thought playlist, the music matches perfectly with moments you’re watching on screen,
  10. BELLAMY. Really, did you SEE that guy? I’d watch the show for him alone ! Bellamy - The 100.gif

  1. Its approaching late in the night and DELICIOUS LOOKING FOODS AND RECIPES will not do me good. I mean just look at that baguette! That is the glorious child of two really good looking baguettes.

    I seriously need to get on watching the 100! the plot seems so interesting and its loved so much, I must give it a shot soon! Supernatural is a great show, slightly terrifying in its earlier seasons πŸ™‚ It definitely used to be a favourite but season 11 lacked a little for me! WONDERFUL POST (AGAIN)! (my love is growing and it cannot be contained)

    1. Haha, so glad it made you craving for some baguettes! My job here is done πŸ™ˆ I totally agree with you, season 3 is not as good!

  2. I love the 100 too. But I’m behind in episodes for this season. I thought they canceled it, but they didn’t. This season actually goes good with the movie marathon I’m doing. My favorite character is Clarke.

    1. Yes, they were talking about canceling it but so far so good! You’re doing a movie marathon? What are you watching? 😊 Good choice on the character, I actually have issues picking a favorite! πŸ™ˆ

  3. God I can’t believe it’s been a month since your last post, where is this year going?!
    Anyway that baguette looks so incredibly yummy, I’m definitely going to have to save that recipe for a later date.
    Also I’ve heard a lot of great things about The 100, everyone seems to be raving about it including all my friends who recommend it to my pretty much daily πŸ˜€
    I really need to check it out soon, it’s definitely the kind of show I know I’m going to love, but I’m thinking I should probably read the books first πŸ™‚

    1. Tell me about it, feels like Xmas was just yesterday! Glad you liked it 😁 That’s exactly how I got into it, everyone was just talking about the 100 and now I’m totally hooked. I haven’t read the books, I heard it’s not at all like the tv show but it seems really promising. I should really order the first one 😊

      1. I’m surprised to see it’s already summer! I feel like we should still be in March or something! πŸ˜€
        I’ll probably end up the same way, I just have a list of TV shows I need to get round to but never seem to actually start any of them! I normally try and read the books first, even if they’re not similar to the TV shows, guess it’s just a habit of mine πŸ™‚

      2. Yes exactly! And I don’t know about you but where I live there’s not much sun so it really doesn’t feel like summer! 😭 Well, that’s a great habit 😊

    1. Haha, so glad you liked those baguettes! Hope you’ll try the recipe soon, you won’t be sorry πŸ™ˆ Well, I wasn’t really psyched about it either, I’m more of a comedy and romance kind of girl but my friends just wouldn’t shut up about it haha! So I gave it a try and I must say I wasn’t disappointed. The plot is really intriguing and it’s action-packed, you really won’t get bored! You should try the first three episodes to see if you get hooked or not 😊

      1. You can always try it, and stop if you don’t like it 😊 As for the baguette, you absolutely HAVE to try them! And if you’re not a cooking person, just make it with someone. It’s always more fun than to cook alone 😊

  4. Nyx, I don’t know how to tell you, but you are watching all the shows that I have been obsessed with for years!!! I am so glad you are on the Bellamy train, seen as he is the absolute best, but NEVER pick up the books. Just trust me on that one!
