Blogging ways – Sharing some secrets, and a special celebration

Good morning guys! I know. It’s SATURDAY, and you’re asking what I’m doing here, because well, you’re getting sick of me and my posts? Maybe? I hope that’s not happening…Because I love you guys. And, with all the wonderful responses to my latest bookish discussion, I felt ready to kick some blogging ass again, and with that, another idea sparked in my mind. This is just an introduction, and an idea, so I’d love some of your feedback!

blogging ways

Blogging ways is a new (or old, I don’t know if other people are doing this, if they are, your idea is GREAT) feature, inspired by responses to my latest bookish discussion, and the wonderful Blogging Extravaganza, and “Tell Us You Ways” post. What is it about? It’s all about SHARING advice, tips, and just, well, the struggles and happiness of blogging together! Basically, I, and YOU as well, will share advice on blogging, commenting, following blogs, keeping up with everything, writing reviews…Just a glimpse behind each of our blogging life, in the hopes that people will share the same experiences, and/or share their advice as well! And maybe some secrets, too. We all have some blogging magic inside of us now, do we?

secrets

I’m not going to dive in this right now. Because I would love your feedback, and because today, I’m going to share a secret with you guys. It’s kind of one of my blogging ways, when you think about it. I have a special sidekick helping me with this blog. She’s so supportive of my writing, blogging, she brainstorms ideas with me when I’m getting crazy, and she’s the brains behind some of my travelling post ideas, some pictures as well. She reads all of the books I read, and she’s a huge YA contemporary lover. And TODAY, April, the 16th, it’s HER BIRTHDAY. So, I want to use this post to introduce you to my special, part-time helper, twinnie, best friend, travelling buddy, and sister. She plays a big role in this blog, and I want to use this post to wish her as well a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY. I know she’s going to read this, and I hope she’ll like the shout out, and yours as well. So, please join me in comments on wishing the BEST of happy birthday to my wonderful sister?

  1. This is an amazing idea 🙂 happy birthday to your sister! I do have family and friends that know about my blog, but they aren’t as book-obsessed as I am, and aren’t really sidekicks. I do make use of my sister’s awesome photography skills, and I must thank her for that! I’m grateful for it.

    1. Aww thank you, I’m glad you like it! And thanks I’ll tell her your wishes, it’s so sweet of you! It’s so great that your sister is a great photograph, I would love to be able to do great photographs, I’m always so jealous of bookstagram pictures ahah 🙂
Thank you so, so much for your sweet comment! ❤

  2. HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your sister! That’s soopah exciting, I hope her day is awesome and filled with unexpected flying glitter (UFG for the win!)

I absolutely adore this idea–mostly because I love reading the advice other people give to those who, like me, are still trying to figure out this whole blogging business. 😉 Because I’m all sorts of selfish like that, I guess. Or something.

Seriously, though, this idea is awwwwesome! 😀

  3. Happy Birthday to your sis! And I think Blogging Ways is an awesome segment to share stories and secrets.

Sometimes I invite my cousins to review movies with me. I’m a bit shy when it comes to talking about my blog to friends and family so I don’t involve them much. I want to invite a few friends to review books with me, but I’m not sure how to approach them, like do you wanna do reviews with me or HEY DO REVIEWS WITH ME IT’LL BE FUN

    1. Thank you for her, you’re so sweet! ❤
I'm really glad you like that idea! 🙂 Ahah, well I think that if you read and like the same books, it would be such an awesome idea, like, hey, why don't we fangirl together and put our thoughts about this book together in a great review? 😛
      Thank you so much! 🙂

  4. This is such a great post, and a great idea, I’d love to see more of it! I don’t really have any blogging sidekicks. Honestly my friends and family don’t even know about my blog, not sure if it’s because I don’t want them to know or I’m waiting for the right moment to actually bring it up 😀
Anyway happy birthday to your sister! It’s great you have her to help you with your blogging!

      1. I don’t think any of your ideas are stupid. I’ve loved all of them that you’ve posted on your blog so far 😀 ❤️
Exactly, I like that I can spend my evenings blogging and not have to explain to my family or friends what I’m doing if that makes sense. This is something that’s completely mine! 🙂

  5. This is such a great idea! I don’t have any suggestions for future topics, but I’m 1000% looking forward to your upcoming posts.

Happy birthday to your sister! Hope she has a great one!

It’s awesome that she’s there to help you so much with your blog. Having a second pair of eyes checking over your work is invaluable. My husband plays the same role with my blog; he doesn’t actually read any of the books I do, but we discuss all the books at length, and he reads all my posts before they go up. He gives amazing feedback on the clarity, pacing, and tone of my posts.

Someone needs to give him and your sister a medal for their helpfulness. =)

    1. Aww thank you so, so much, it makes me so happy that you like this idea ! And thank you for her, really ❤
Ohh, that's so amazing that your husband is so supportive of your blogging, and helps this way, it must be so great to have someone looking over your posts just like that! Well, my sister kind of does that for me, so I can say that it's great 🙂 EXACTLY, we should give them a medal or something! 🙂
Once again, thank you so, so much! ❤

  6. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUR SISTER!!! ❤ It's great (and sometimes even necessary) to have someone to run ideas off. I don't really do that with anyone for the blog, but I do it for my writing. Mainly my cousin has to sit through hours of book discussions with me, but I like to think that she enjoys them hahaha

    1. Thank you so much, well thank you for her, you’re so wonderful Kat ❤ (and my sister heard a lot about you, haha, since you're so awesome obviously. sorry does that make me sound weird? It's just, she saw the book you sent me, and well, you are awesome, so… ahah <3)
You're right, it's sometimes necessary to talk about some ideas, I mean, I know that I would have been lost if I haven't had her for some posts (and in life as well, but that's a whole other topic haha). Well, I'm SURE that she enjoys them, I mean, who doesn't enjoy hours of bookish discussions? 😛

      1. Awe hahaha no! I told my cousin about you as well! You’re such a great person and I can just throw all the compliments back at you and therefore there’s no way around mentioning you in my daily life hahaha

  7. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUR SISTER!! She sounds awesome, and it’s so nice that you have someone to support you for blogging. This sounds like such a cool feature too! This may seem kind of weird, but I love it when bloggers share things about how they blog/what blogging is like for them. It’s a much more interesting meme too! My sister knows about my blog (and hopefully reads it… she does have it book marked, but idk if that’s just to please me, haha!) but she doesn’t help much. She’s very good about my bookstagram account though – she’s often a model, lets me use her books, or lets me shoot in her room! 😀

    1. Thank you so, so much Denise, and thank you for her, that’s so sweet of you ❤ It's so great when there are people around to help, even just to proof read or confirm that a picture looks okay, or completely wrong, ahah. I'm sure your sister reads your blog, I mean, she HAS to, she must love it as well 🙂
I'm so glad you like that feature, and it doesn't seem weird at all, I love reading this kind of post as well, that's what made me want to try this out. Thank you so, so much! ❤

  8. Blogging ways is such a creative idea! So YES, do go forth with it! And please tell your sister I said a happy birthday even though she doesn’t know me. We really appreciate her contributions to D&H Books. 😀 And that is so sweet, I know a lot of bloggers have beta readers that proof their posts but I’ve never had one of those. Probably because only a select few in real life know about my blog. I’m not embarrassed or anything but I guess it never comes up in conversation. XD

    1. Aww, thank you so, so much Summer, I’m so happy you like the idea ❤ ❤ I will tell her, thank you so, so much, I appreciate all of her ideas so, so much as well ahah 😛
You're right, I don't talk very much about it either, it doesn't really come up in conversation, and well, it feels like another world, our own world, and it's great to keep it that way sometimes 🙂
      Thank you so much ❤

And even though I don't know your sister, I wish her a VERY happy birthday!! ❤ ❤ Let us celebrate with cake and chocolate, yes yes.
For me, apart from like, a couple of my very close friends, no one knows about my blog. The subject never came up much, you know? It must be amazing to have such a close person (such as your sister) be a part of your blog! 😀

  12. I really like this idea! I am looking for all the advice I can get to be honest hahaha. I don’t really have anyone giving me feedback and helping me out with blog ideas yet but my boyfriend is very kind and reads my posts and reminds me to sit down and work on it from time to time. Having someone who supports you is really important to keep going I think 🙂

I know it’s a day late but happy birthday to your sister!

  13. Maybe you should make your sister become a coblogger? I find cob logging less stressful and more rewarding that doing it by myself. And my sister is obviously (not quite) the perfect cob logger. Anyway, happy birthday to her, and this new feature sounds wonderful. Maybe you could make a form where different times different bloggers contribute (like a google form type thing) where say the theme is having ideas for posts you could either ask bloggers or just let anyone contribute a paragraph about how they think of posts then share it along with your ideas? It could be a great way to spread the love 🙂

    1. I’m guessing it’s less stressful indeed, yes! I really should think about this idea, though I don’t know if she’d have the time or want to participate more fully, as to write articles and stuff, but it’s definitely a great option 🙂
Ohhh, that’s an excellent idea, thank you so much for sharing this with me! I’ll have to think about it, but it’s really so sweet of you to suggest this, thank you!

  14. Awww, I’m a bit late. Well, tell your sister I say Happy Belated Birthday!!! I hope she had a truly wonderful day!! 😀 ❤

I think this is an amazing idea – it's really great that your sister shares your interests and is able to give inputs on your blog! I'm actually incredibly jealous since no one in my family or friend group has a hobby of reading. You and your sister sound like you have a great dynamic!! 🙂

    1. Aww thank you so, so much, that’s already so sweet of you ❤ I feel really lucky to have her, I swear I somedays can't believe I am that lucky to have a sister like that 🙂 We do, really, but well, I am sure we all have some special someones, friends, family, etc we have such great connections with, and that's the greatest feeling 🙂

    1. Thank you so, so much for her, that’s so sweet of you 🙂 Well, I wouldn’t call myself so experienced, but if I can ever help, with this feature, or just like that, if you have questions or anything you want to ask, feel free, I’d be happy to help you 🙂 Thank you so much!

  15. This is super late, but happy belated birthday to your sister! I hope she had an awesome day 🙂 My mom knows about my blog and sometimes reads it, and thanks to her my entire close family knows lol, but they don’t have the url so they don’t read it. And Blogging Ways is an amazing idea; I can’t wait for the first post 😀
