Originally coming from the Breaking The Spine blog, Waiting on Wednesday allows me to talk about a book I just can’t wait to get my hands on !
Don’t forget to tell me about the book you’re eager to read, this week, in comments!
Expected publication : May 3rd 2016
Publisher : Roaring Brook Press
This is what it means to love someone. This is what it means to grieve someone. It’s a little bit like a black hole. It’s a little bit like infinity.
Gottie H. Oppenheimer is losing time. Literally. When the fabric of the universe around her seaside town begins to fray, she’s hurtled through wormholes to her past:
To last summer, when her grandfather Grey died. To the afternoon she fell in love with Jason, who wouldn’t even hold her hand at the funeral. To the day her best friend Thomas moved away and left her behind with a scar on her hand and a black hole in her memory.
Although Grey is still gone, Jason and Thomas are back, and Gottie’s past, present, and future are about to collide—and someone’s heart is about to be broken.
With time travel, quantum physics, and sweeping romance, The Square Root of Summer is an exponentially enthralling story about love, loss, and trying to figure it all out, from stunning debut YA voice, Harriet Reuter Hapgood.
I’ve seen this book around, on lots of book blogs, and I will admit it, I fell in love with the cover, first. Well, that’s kind of superficial, okay, BUT it did made me want to check out the synopsis, and damn I’m glad I did! A weird story where past and present collide, a best friend leaving the main character, some kind of memory loss?! WAS that book MADE FOR ME?! I guess I’ll see that when it’s released…
I have seen it around a lot too and it’s also on my tbr list! I would love to find out too if it’s good 😀 I love summer contemporary romances, finger crossing that this one will be amazing 😀
YAY! We should buddy-read it when it’s released 😀 I really hope it will be a great book, hopefully as beautiful as the cover, ahah 🙂
Thank you so much for your comment Kimsiang! 🙂

No problem! thank you as well. When will it be released? 🙂
This May, the 3rd! 😀 So soon, yet so far, ahah! 🙂
This is the first I’ve seen of this book! It sounds like a contemporary mixed with sci-fi! Time travel? Deals with love and loss? Two very interesting things to bring together, and now this is definitely going on my TBR because I’m totally interested in it now!
Great post. ?

The cover is stunning! I actually haven’t seen this book around so thanks for sharing it with us, Marie. It’s been such a long time since I’ve read any time travel and the fact that it has “summer” in the title makes me love it already. 😉 Just added it to by GR’s TBR.
Aww you’re welcome!! I’m so happy I made you discover a new book. Hope it’s as good as it seems to be! 😀
