The Joy of Christmas Book Tag

Hi everyone! How are you in this lovely Wednesday?! I hope you’re having a great beginning of the week so far. Obviously, kind of busy, since… Christmas is only TWO days away, yay!

I thought I’d get a head start on the Christmas celebrations, and come to you today with a little book tag! Thanks to one of the sweetest girl I’ve met thanks to the book blogging community, Kat @ย Life & Other Disasters, I will spread some Christmas joy! If you’re not into that, well, no worries…because I will be talking about what we ALL love… BOOKS, obviously.

1.ย ANTICIPATIONย ๐ŸŽ„ย The Christmas excitement is real, what book release(s) are you most anticipating?

If you don’t know that yet, I LOVE all of Lauren Oliver’s books. I found out only recently that she’s writing what sounds like another FANTASTIC book, ย Replica coming out next September. Do I really need to say how impatient I am for this?!

2. Christmas Songs & Carolsย ๐ŸŽถย What book or author can you not help but sing its praises?

shatter meHm, I think I will go with Tahereh Mafi for that accident seasonone, because what kind of INCREDIBLE writing is that. I will never get over how beautiful it is, and how it makes me FEEL things. I know it’s not the kind of writing everyone loves, but I really loved it. On great, and different writing, I could go with Moรฏra Fowley-Doyle, too. I read her debut a few weeks ago, and I’m still not over it. So poetic, so wonderfully weird.

3. Gingerbread Housesย ๐Ÿกย What book or series has wonderful world building?

ugliesI think that Scott Westerfeld did a pretty incredible job with theย Ugliesย series. But maybe it’s because it’s one of the first dystopian books I’ve read, that I’m saying that. Anyways, I just really love the world he imagined and created, with all the different layers of society and all the secrets. It was really, REALLY good.

4. A Christmas Carolย ๐ŸŽตย Favorite classic or one that you want to read?

lord of the fliesOkay, I will admit it, I’m not a classics reader, AT ALL. I haven’t read many classics, so I struggled a while to answer that question. I think I will go with Lord of The Flies by William Golding because I remember it kind of left a mark on me after reading it. That was so long ago, though!

5. Christmas Sweetsย ๐Ÿฌย What book would you love to receive for Christmas?

summer of chasing mermaidsOh, there are SO many books I want, and if you’d like to see a couple of them, included with some other gifts I would love to receive this Christmas, check out my yesterday post about gifts I’d love to have! However, to answer this question anyway, I think right now I would love to receive The Summer of Chasing Mermaids. Because it sounds so wonderful, and I want to think about summer, ahah!

6. Candles in the Window ๐Ÿ•ฏย What book gives you that warm fuzzy feeling?

the geography of you and meYes, I am a big reader of contemporary romances, because I LOVE that warm fuzzy feeling that usually goes with reading a book like Anna and The French Kiss. No, I won’t go with that one, and I will chooseย The Geography of You and Me. Jennifer E. Smith is a great writer of contemporary, and I love reading her books, they are just so SWEET.

7. Christmas Trees & Decorationsย โœจย What are some of your favorite book covers?

Oh, so many book covers I love to pat forever. Does that make me weird?! On the top of my head right now, I would show you these threeย GORGEOUS book covers, you can’t help but fall in love with.

8. Christmas Joyย ๐ŸŽˆย What are some of your favorite things about Christmas And/Or some of your favorite Christmas memories?

There are so many things I love about Christmas. Being with family. Cooking and, most of all, EATING. Giving out presents and receiving them a little bit, too. I LOVE that time of the year!

Since this post is about sharing the Christmas joy, let’s do that! What is YOURย favorite thing about Christmas/The Christmas season? Tell me everything you love, or everything you hate about it, in comments!ย ๐Ÿ’ฌ

  1. The Summer of Chasing Mermaids was one of my favorite reads in 2015. In fact, I think I only gave three books 5 stars this year and that was one of them. And Uglies! I can always count on you to mention that title; not a lot of readers like that one for some reason. I’m also so glad you decided to mention Lord of the Flies, that’s one of my favorite classics too. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Oh wow, really?! I NEED to read that book then, knowing you loved it so much makes me so impatient ๐Ÿ™‚
Yes, I don’t understand why they didn’t love Uglies, unlike me, haha, but well ๐Ÿ™‚
Oh really?! I don’t read a lot of classics -not at all, actually-, but that one’s an exception, I really liked it! ๐Ÿ™‚
      Thank you Summer! โค
