Hi everyone, how are you in this lovely wednesday? I hope your week was off to a great start! After yesterday’s post about Valentine’s Day reads, I’m not going to stop, and keep on spreading the love during this week…I hope you’re ready!
Since Wednesday is usually the day for book tags, I found that the lovely Anette @ Anette Reads tagged me for the perfect tag today: The book love tag! A great way to spread the love! And, since we’re talking about this, well, if you don’t know her or her blog yet, go check it out right now! Alright, now I’m off to answer some questions…
1. Your favorite book couple.
Okay, this is off to a great start…HOW am I supposed to choose? I absolutely love Mara & Noah from the Mara Dyer series… But Emmy & Oliver were the cutest, too. I really liked the romance in My life next door…I mean, isn’t Jase the greatest? I just, I don’t know how to choose.
2. Your top 3 book boy/girlfriends.
A top THREE? Hm, I really really love Warner, from the Shatter Me series. If you just started reading those books, well you might be hating him right now, but let me reassure you: this won’t last ’til the end. I already talked about him, but Noah Shaw from the Mara Dyer series. I’m a sucker for English accents, I can’t help it. Then I’d probably say Ron Weasley (do I really have to say from which book this ginger cutest guy comes from, and why I love him?
3. Imagine your favorite book couple. Who would propose, and how? (If there’s already been a proposal: who would be more into organizing the wedding?)
Wow, this question is really really hard. I’m going to take a random book couple for that, because, why not? So, hm, Kate and Matthew from The Next Together. I’m taking the 2016 timeline, because it’s much more fun, and I’m saying that, over a fancy dinner at a restaurant where Matthew indeed intended to propose… Well, in the middle of the main course, she just dropped her fork and blandly told him: are you really going to wait for dessert to take out the ring you’ve been carrying around in your pocket? So, yeah. That would be fun.
4. Unpopular opinions time! Name a popular pairing you can’t stand.
I don’t know if they’re really that popular, but I’m thinking about Juliette and Adam from Shatter Me. I just can’t stand Adam, sorry.
5. What’s your favorite and least favorite romance trope?
Okay, my favorite HAS to be where the two are childhood friends, or have been friends for a long time. I think those stories are the cutest, and they always get me.
For my least favorite, I’d say maybe, love triangles? Or a relationship where the other gives herself and who she/he is up for the other. This just annoys me, so much.
6. Do you ship non-canon couples often? Name some if you do.
I’m just going to change from my bookish answers, and ask you: do any of you guys watch Jane, The Virgin? First of all, I LOVE that show. And I kind of ship Michael and Rogelio together. I mean aren’t they SO CUTE?!
7. Your opinion on love triangles. Go!
Okay, I said that love triangles aren’t really my thing a little above. But I guess it’s because it’s become SO common, in books, and shows, and everything, that it just tends to annoy me. BUT there are some love triangles that are especially well-done, and they’re not just there…well, to put another love interest here.
8. Favorite and least favorite love triangle?
I’m going to start by my least favorite, and talk about the whole Katniss/Peeta/Gale mess. I really don’t like this one, because, okay, I love Peeta -I mean, just LOOK at him, he’s like a little puppy-…but mainly because I think, in THIS kind of story, this love triangle just isn’t meant to be here.
For my favorite love triangle, hm, I don’t actually think I HAVE a favorite…since they’re not my favorite trope in the world…
9. Sometimes romance just isn’t the way to go. Favorite friendship?
Ohh, there I could talk about a TON of friendships I loved in books. Juliette and Kenji from the Shatter Me series really are GOALS. Harry and Hermione, too. I really liked the friendships between the whole group of friends in Emmy & Oliver. I LOVED Aristotle and Dante’s friendship, too. Let me apologize for the gif below. I am crying, too.
10. What’s your favorite scene with your bookish OTP?
Ugh, WHY are you doing this to me?! I LOVED the first scene in Emmy & Oliver when Emmy stuck out her tongue to Oliver, haha. This was fun and childish but just, so cute. Is that weird of me to like a scene like that?
11. Imagine your favorite book couple again. Who’s most excited about Valentine’s Day (either ironically or genuinely)?
I’m going to change again, and take…hm, Blair and Nate, from the beginning of the Gossip Girl books -and the show, if you’re more familiar with it. Obviously, Blair is the most excited, and she plans on having the MOST romantic night ever. And obviously, Nate kinds of messes-up everything.

Great post! My favourite book couple at the moment is one from Carry On- but don’t want to say unless you haven’t read it. I love childhood friends too- or people that are in secret love with each other for years and don’t say anything- I’m a sucker for a happy ending! I’m not crazy about love triangles either- but agree they can be done well.
Thank you so much! Oh, I’m glaad you didn’t say anything, I haven’t read that book yet…I should get into the whole Fangirl hype, haha 🙂
Ohh yes, those two are my favorite kind of relationships, they’re just SO cute <3
good!! that’s a good thing I didn’t say then- I’ve not actually read Fangirl yet, but I *loved* Carry On, so it’s gonna happen at some point! Exactly- they make me so happy!!
Ohh, I thought they kind of were going together, those two books? I need to read both of those anyway, haha! 🙂
They do go together- I intend to read Fangirl soon- so I plan to read both too 🙂
Oh okay! Well, I can’t wait to read both of those, too!! 😀
Yay, thank you for doing this tag! Loved reading your answers and I’m always happy to find other people who love Ron <3
Blair and Nate? Oh man, I was all about Blair and Chuck XD Talk about dysfunctional people coming together. I'm always weak for storylines like that. I never read the books though.
I love Ron so much!! <3
Ahah, no worries, I shipped Blair and Chuck SO BADLY, too! I was mostly thinking about the books, and I had NO idea how Blair and Chuck would spend their Valentine's day…Maybe daring each other to do crazy things? :p
I loved Blair so much at the beginning of Gossip Girl. That series was one I found serious problematic as it went on…
Oh, yes…I have to agree with you. I loved the first season, and then it just kind of went downhill…That’s too bad.
I know! Ugh, I was so sick of her and Chuck by the end.
I think it dragged on too long, and I don’t know, they didn’t know what to do with the plot anymore, so it just went everywheere, haha.
I agree with so many of your answers, Marie! And I watched season 1 of Jane, The Virgin! It was hilarious. XD And oh gosh, me too! I wasn’t a fan of the whole Katniss/Peeta/Gale either. You’re right, it was an absolute mess. I wasn’t even shipping Katniss with either of the guys. By the way, have your head Me Before You? Well I can’t wait to see Sam Claflin in a lead role. I need to read that book soon just so I can see that film when it comes out. 😀
Aww, so happy you agree, seems like we think alike 😉 Jane The Virgin is hilarious, I just love that show so, so much! Please keep on watching, so we can talk about it 😀
No, I haven’t read that book yet, but I WANT TO! Everyone keeps talking about it, and Sam Claflin… I can’t wait to see him either, I really like him! I will defniitely read the book soon, too!! 😀
Awesome post! I really loved Ari and Dante’s friendship as well. I read that book last month and it became one of my favorites as well.
Thank you so much! This is what I loved so much about that book, the slow building of friendship, then relationship, and the FEELINGS and everything, it was just so strong! 🙂
Thank you for commenting! <3
Hahaha I did that tag too and it will go up today. I think I answered almost everything with Malec from TMI hahaha
I love your answers though! MICHAEL AND ROGELIO ARE SO HILARIOUS TOGETHER! I am totally Team Michael to be honest.
And I can so see the last one. Blair has everything scheduled and prepared and then Nate shows up late or with a black eye or gets arrested or something stupid (probably instigated by Chuck).
Haha, I saw that :p YES ME TOO!! I love Michael so much! Did you see the last episode? 🙂
Haha, it would totally be like that. It wouldn’t be fun for Nate, haha
Yep, I am all up to date with Jane. Was it really necessary to give her a 3rd love interest though?
OH YES, I’m so happy to hear that! (And I’ll definitely bother you on Twitter with my comments on that show, now :p) I don’t think so, either. It was fun, her dream and all, but definitely not necessary. I want Michael 🙁
Go ahead! Twitter is there for fangirling 😉
You are so on the dot with love triangles!
They just don’t work for me, like 99% of the time…
The only one that I can think of that worked imo was Tessa/Jem/Will in The Infernal Devices 🙂
They don’t work for me, either … :/Ohh, I haven’t even read that series, but it’s very popular, I need to check it out sometime! 😀
You definitely should!! The love triangle is honestly so well written, and I just can’t choose a “team” for Tessa 🙂
Ohh, well then I’m going to like it 😀 Thank you! 🙂
That gif from Jane the Virgin looks adorable. I will most likely only watch the show for them now XD I’m with you on The Hunger Games love triangle. It’s a dystopian world, I don’t want to read about whether a girl has boy problems!!
YES YES YES, do watch Jane, it’s one of my favorite shows!! <3 Exactly, me neither, it's so annoying at times!
Thank you for stopping by! <3
I’m totally with you on the Hunger Games love triangle. It was a bit too much and honestly, I don’t think it added much to the story, Katniss could have been angsty about Peeta even without Gale bringing his feelings into the mix. I always shipped Blair with Chuck more, but in any case, she’s definitely the one to make a big deal about Valentine’s Day. I can perfectly imagine it !
You’re so right! Gale was too much maybe, or I don’t know, it just didn’t really fitted in the story, it was kind of, to add something, a relationship for us to root for.
Ohhh, no worries, I LOVE chuck and blair so much, too!! I don’t know why, when I thought about this, I wanted blair to get mad at nate, hahaha :p
Thank you so much for stopping by !! 😀
I love books about childhood friends turned lovers as well. I hate cliches but this is one I can stand the most! I especially love those parts when they start getting awkward with each other as they realize their friendship is turning into something more! Insta-love is getting so old and I think this kind of trope is more realistic and easier to relate to! 😀
Happy Valentine’s Day, Marie! 😀
Oh yes that awkward moment in between friendships and love, with all the feelings, it just makes me melt ALL the time, haha. Thank you so, so much, Trisha!! Happy Valentine’s Day to you too 😀
EEEP to Ari & Dante!! <3 I COULD SHIP THEM FOREVER, SILLY LITTLE DARLINGS. Ahem. And also Noah Shaw is intensely all kinds of awesome. NOAH. And I have quite a severe love for Katniss/Peeta too…and pfft, why did Gale even exist? Merp.
(Also I hated Adam in the Shatter Me series too…he like had a whole personality swing though, which was weird?!? Like he seriously didn't feel like the same person from book 1 to book 2. o.O)
Thanks for stopping by @ Paper Fury!
THEY ARE THE CUTEST <3
Thank you for stopping by Cait!! 😀
A great big YES to everything in this post! My favourite book couple would probably be Juliette and Warner too and my favourite friendship would be Harry and Hermione. Sorry I can’t add anything new. Although maybe Daemon and Katy from the Lux series or Rowan and Aelin from ToG in a close second. They are all too cute!
Aww, thank you! <3 Ohh, I haven't read either of those series, (yet!), but that's good to know…I'll look out for them once I start reading those books 😀
Thank you for stopping by! <3
Haha my book boyfriend from Harry Potter has got to be Charlie, that man can charm dragons *dreamy sigh* haha.
I hated the love triangle in Hunger Games as well, it had no bearings on the story – tbh Gale was a bit of an extra in the first two books, he could have not been there and there would have been little difference to the story. But… at least Liam Hemsworth is hot? XD
Ahhh yes, charming dragons should be required before anything, in a potential book boyfriend ! :p
Hahhahaha, you know what, that’s exactly what I was thinking the other day. At least Liam Hemsworth is definitely hot, so at least we got a little something out of this love triangle! :p
Thank you for stopping by, Aentee! <3
