The logical course of action? Meet up at summer camp (obviously) and figure out why Abby’s parents gave Savvy up for adoption. But there are complications: Savvy is a rigid rule-follower and total narc. Leo is the camp’s co-chef, putting Abby's growing feelings for him on blast. And her parents have a secret that threatens to unravel everything.
But part of life is showing up, leaning in, and learning to fit all your awkward pieces together. Because sometimes, the hardest things can also be the best ones.

- After reading and loving Tweet Cute by Emma Lord earlier this year, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the author’s sophomore novel, You Have A Match. A secret sister, a summer camp and a best friends to lovers promising romance? This book seemed to have everything I could love. I’m thrilled to say: I wasn’t disappointed. At all.
- I think that Emma Lord manages to create believable, well-crafted characters every time. I had such a great time getting to know Abby, the main character. She’s far from perfect and makes mistakes, but you can’t help but root for her. I loved her passion for photography, her recklessness at times, her kindness and her wariness about feelings altogether. Most of it all, she is wonderfully relatable at times and I loved that. I loved seeing her grow as I read on, from dealing with the loss of her grandfather to her own relationship with her best friend, her new sister and her own passions and desires in life.
- Abby is surrounded by a lovely cast of characters, too: therer’s her secret sister, Savannah, Instagram influencer, authoritarian yet adorable, too. You also get her best friend of always, Leo, wanna-be-cook and overall adorable. Mickey and Finn, Savannah’s friends, were wonderful additions to the story as well.
- The sisters’ relationship was one of the highlights of this book: from strangers getting to know each other to real, sibling-like relationships, You Have a Match gave us a lovely sibling relationship I rooted for and here for it always.
- The romance! There is a little bit of romance in this book (on both sisters’ sides, by the way), even if it’s secondary to the family drama plot. I found myself rooting for them all, too, there.
I HAD A HARD TIME WITH…

- I feel like some moments in the story were a little bit… over the top. Without spoiling anything, of course. I feel like some things happening were a bit too coincidential or a little too exaggerated and I don’t feel like this was really needed?

Emma Lord always manages to make me smile with her books and for me, that’s a win. If you’re looking for an entertaining, adorable contemporary read with siblings, family drama and a bit of romance, you should certainly enjoy You Have a Match!

The moment is said secret sisters and someone being in love with their bff, I felt this book was for you. I am really glad you liked it. I honestly felt like moments in Tweet Cute were too much or very convenient coincidences already, so, I don’t think it would be a big turn off for me.

I read this one. You had a better experience than I did. I got lost somewhere in the middle. I loved the beginning and the end, but bored along the way. I’m going to blame my reading mood, though. YA’s have been harder for me the second half of 2020. Everyone else seems to love it, like you did. Great review!
Oh I’m sorry you didn’t love it all the way! I get that though, sometimes we’re just struggling to read some kind of books at some moments, it’s always a bit annoying.

I enjoyed this one too (4/5), not as much as Tweet Cute, but still very good. I am a huge fan of Lord’s dialogs. They are always so fun, and once again, she gave us such a great ending. I am trash for strong endings, and both her books delivered fantastic ones.

I feel like you mentioned this book in one of your recent posts, which is exactly why this book is on my TBR list, buttt I always look forward to your reviews! The last YA contemporary that I read that comes to mind is The Cuban Girl’s Guide to Tea and Tomorrow! I actually think you’d really enjoy it, since it features sisters, family, romance, and all good things!
