I’ve had stories in my head since I can’t remember. I recall writing little snippets here and there, in notebooks on a bus on a school trip, on pieces of paper I’ve long forgotten, now, when I was younger.
I remember losing the notebooks for the keyboard, writing short stories and snippets of made-up characters’ lives online.
I remember participating in NaNoWriMo the first time, losing, winning, losing bits of my mind here and there in the meantime, but still. I always had that spark to write.
The past few years, writing has become more of a constant than ever in my life. I grew from writing here and there to writing almost every day, to working on books from beginning to end, from a messy draft 1 to a draft 4, from one single book idea to multiple book ideas.
It’s funny, I sometimes still can’t believe I, like, wrote books. Some of them might not be readable, some of them might be actually incredible (I mean, you never know?).
Being a writer has always been my dream and, somewhere down the road, in the past few years, I realized. I actually AM a writer.
That being said, I don’t feel like an author, just yet.
The chasm between writing books and leaving them to live their lives on your computer and actually putting the words out for the world to read is gigantic. It’s an incredible leap, a leap of faith, a step filled with anxious stress, nerves and excitement all at once.
I’m crossing that chasm today, friends.
Well, not today as you’re reading this post, obviously. This year, however, is the year I’m taking my books off my personal shelves and letting the world read them.
Well, book, singular, one thing at a time. It’s already A. L. O. T. to deal with, to be honest.
SO, to sum up my whole big rant here….
Here’s my biggest 2024 writing resolution
I’M GOING TO BE A PUBLISHED AUTHOR!!!!!!
I’m publishing my novel this year. This fall 2024, to be exact.
You might guess it from the way I’m phrasing this, I’m going to be self-publishing my book. I’m not going to dwell on the reasons why in this post – maybe in another one, if you’re interested?
You might have guessed, if you’re a regular reader of my blog… I’ll be publishing my sisters WIP!!
Wait, what’s happening?!!
Well…I have a lot to learn. I have a lot to prepare for this release which is, as I’m writing this now, nowhere ready. So I’m going to do just that, in the next few months, ✨prepare✨.
Since this is primarily a book blog, I wasn’t planning on sharing this self-publishing journey directly on here. If you’d be interested, please give me a shout out?
I’m definitely going to set up an author newsletter, as well as an official author website. This all feels too fancy?!

I’m also, slowly, in the process of revamping my instagram account for it to be an author account. For now, you can follow me here!
What does it mean, for my blogging?
I still love reading and talking about books. I still want to talk about books.
I’m still going to talk about books.
As you noticed, I haven’t been that active on my book blog as I used to be. I don’t think that will change, much. I still hope to publish reviews and monthly updates and bookish related things on here and, hopefully, to keep in touch with you all. I might talk about writing here, though I’m not sure how much. Still on the fence about that, if I’m being honest.
I just am going to give that new journey the best try that I can, because well. Shoot for the stars, am I right?
