Happy last day of August, friends ☀️ Might be in a bit of a denial here. I mean, September? Really?! Already? Ugh. Let’s get to what I’ve been up to lately!

August’s gone and the end of summer is near, I hate this so much I feel like crying. I’m a summer plant, as you all know by now ☀️
August started off with work, as always. Then, I got to travel again for a week or so with my sister, back to England and some of our favorite places in the world. If you’re curious, there’s a little highlight reel on my instagram account:
The weather wasn’t too warm, but it’s England, what did you really expect, anyway. It was wonderful to get away for a bit and it inspired me even more to get back to my current story (see below!), for, reasons ✨
What else, what else. Oh, I fought before the holidays and apparently we’re now going to TWO concerts, for my TWO favorite artists of all times in 2024, so… something to look forward to! 🥺

Monthly Reading Wrap-Up
I don’t know what’s happened, but I apparently managed to read 5 books again this past month, which is such a wonderful record for me. I’m so happy about it! I discovered some wonderful books and one of these just ruined me okay.

UNNECESSARY DRAMA ☂️ I don’t even know how to explain this book, I just loved it so much?! Adored the anxiety rep, way too relatable, adorable and real. A new favorite I’ll be screaming about, forever and ever. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

HELLFINDER ☂️ I enjoyed Paula Stokes’ YA contemporary books, but wasn’t as convinced with this one. It felt a bit slow and I just, wanted more from it. Still an enjoyable adventure read, though! ⭐️⭐️⭐️
TILLY IN TECHNICOLOR ☂️ What an adorable romcom, my heart’s melting. I loved loved loved these characters, the romance, the family vibes. A fun read I definitely recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

THE REUNION ☂️ Give me wealthy families and a mystery and I am all in! I had a really fun time reading this book, overall and recommend it if you’re a mystery fan. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
THOSE SUMMER NIGHTS ☂️ Laura Silverman can do no wrong. Her characters win my heart, her books make me smile and ache at the same time. Loved this YA contemporary, another favorite by her, for sure. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Book Discoveries of The Month
As always, you can follow me on Goodreads to see my TBR! Here are two books I added to it in the last month, one thanks to social media and the other by browsing at Waterstones’.

I HOPE THIS DOESN’T FIND YOU ☂️ I am a huge, huge fan of Ann Liang’s work and obviously had to add her latest YA contemporary to my TBR. It’s a bit of a Lara Jean situation, except with hate emails and tbh I’m ALL here for it. Excited to read this!! Add to Goodreads
THE DOUBLE LIFE OF DAISY HEMMINGS ☂️ Split between 1988 and 2018, this book’s about Jason, befriending two wealthy tourists in 1988 and how his life’s turned upside down by this. It sounds intriguing and exciting and, yay! Add to Goodreads.

Goodreads challenge: 34/50 books
I’m two books ahead of my schedule and overall, have been making good progress, so I’m glad!

August hasn’t been the best writing month, to be honest.
I know, I have excuses. Like I’ve been away and a bit busy. I guess I still expect myself to write faster than I am able to. I need to work on that, I know.
ANYWAY, after doubting and screaming for a little while, I started draft 4 of this story you all might know, by now, my sister story.
I have a lot of work, but I hope I can make it the best that it can be. Fingers crossed!

Well, August was… abysmal, in terms of blogging.
I didn’t plan posts and took a bit of a break, with my holidays. Therefore, August can be summed up in a couple of reviews and a wonderful recommendations post my sister & co-blogger put together. So, yay her! ❤️
I honestly don’t know what September will bring. More inspiration, hopefully, but I also know things continue changing on the blogosphere. My favorite Kat announced her upcoming blogging retirement and, to be completely transparent, that has hit me, hard. I’ve known things have changed, for a lot of people. I’m not blaming anyone and I know it’s totally normal for people to grow, move on, change. Hell, I’ve grown. My priorities, just like my friend Kat, sometimes lie elsewhere and I’m still trying to be alright with that.
I also know I deeply love this little corner of the internet. So. Let’s just see what happens this September, shall we?
A little footnote: forever thankful for those of you visiting, commenting and supporting the blog. I love you all SO much.

Maybe it is just me, but I swear England has been rather warm and humid lately even when it looks cloudy, and I’m in the north where it is always colder and wetter. I think it is cold so I take my coat and always end up taking it off as it is warmer than I expected. I’m ready for autumn now though as summer feels as if it has lasted for far too long and I want to start wearing my cosy knit wear.
Aha you’re an autumn fan! I hope it’ll be there soon on your side of the world! <3 I'm personally a summer fan forever and always ahah, so I'll miss it when it's gone, so badly!
I hope September will be kind to you! <3
I love the colour scheme of the cover of Unnecessary Drama! I have anxiety too so I’ll keep that book on my radar if you say the rep is good.
Ahh yay! I hope you will enjoy it! I personally found it way too relatable ahah 🙂
Sounds like you had a good month! 💞 Yay to traveling, that sounds lovely! Even if you didn’t get as much writing done, at least you got some done, baby steps!
I read Kat’s retirement post too and I will miss her too. I get that she has to do what’s best for her, but yes definitely will be missed.
I hope you have a lovely September! ✨
Thank you so much <3 I'm trying to think, one step at a time ahah <3
It feels so strange, little by little, everyone I started with on the blogosphere has gone elsewhere or simply quit. The end of an era, really, ahah.
Thank you! I hope September will be kind to you <3
You’re welcome! 💞 That’s the best way to approach it, one step at a time!
I completely get it, there are quite a few people who I used to follow who aren’t around anymore. Some days it makes me sadder than others, but I try to stay optimistic.
Thank you, Marie! The same to you. 💜
I love that you’re staying optimistic, that’s wonderful <3 As long as we enjoy it here, that's what matters, I guess! <3
Thank you, it’s the best way for me to look at it! 😊
two five star reads!? While I had one on my TBR list, the other one I hadn’t heard of at all. We tend to feel similarly towards books, so I’m excited to add these to my list. I don’t know why, but I’ve been having problems commenting on some of your posts, so I hope this one goes through. Hope you’re well, and have a wonderful September! xx

Ahh yay! I hope you’ll LOVE these books, can’t wait to hear what you think of them 🙂
Oh damn, I’ll check in case you landed in my spam! thank you for letting me know. and I hope September will be kind to you! xx
Hate emails you say? I need this book!! I love when the story is told via emails specifically
Hey, a break can be a good thing 🥰 happy to hear you took some vacation and had good times travelling!
YES! these kind of stories are so fun, I’m such a fan of mixed media in books.
Thank you so much, Kristina! I hope September will be kind to you <3
Thank you Marie! ❤️ We are off to a not so great start ..
Oh no 🙁 I’m so sorry to hear that, I’m always a message away if you need to talk. Sending you so, so much love <3
Nope, I’m not at all jealous of your vacation 😂 That reel is making me want to drop everything and just visit England!
But anyway, I’m glad that you seem to have had such a good reading month! I haven’t read any of these, but Unnecessary Drama sounds really intriguing…
Also, hang in there! Even if they’re moving on to amazing things, it’s always hard to see fellow bloggers leave, particularly when you’ve grown close over the years 😥 I’m sure you and Kat are going to stay great friends regardless, though!
AH I hope you can visit England someday, I love it there SO much! <3
Unnecessary Drama was excellent, honestly one of the most relatable books I ever read. I hope you'll love it <3
And thank you! Even if the blogging community has been changing gradually, seeing everyone leaving always hurts. But that's life, I guess! <3
I’ve actually been to England before, but I definitely agree with you that it’s the best and that I need to go back! Oxford in particular is a city I’m beyond obsessed with 🥰 And I also really want to go to Wales eventually, so maybe I should just combine everything into a big UK roadtrip?
AHH yay! Wales sounds FANTASTIC, I’d love to go there someday. A roadtrip sounds incredible, I hope you can make it!! 🥰
Love your Instagram. Looks like you had a good month. Wish you amazing September!
Oh thank you so much!! <3
sounds like we had similarly busy months! I haven’t had much time to read or write (haven’t touched any of my projects or even opened my draft all month haha) but my August was filled with some fun adventures.
September will be a catch up month for me, now that I’m back home and can hopefully build some new routines before classes start again soon! I’ve decided to participate in a 26-week art challenge (called the Alphabet Superset, very fun!) because clearly I don’t have enough hobbies or things on my plate…maybe I should invest time into blogging regularly instead but I am firmly convinced that I can somehow do it all 😂
Somehow, I feel like it has been a strange blogging year for so many of us? maybe that’s just me, though! But I feel like a lot of my friends struggle with posting regularly or have lost the spark to continue in the face of so many other platforms and the way the blogosphere has changed. Seeing friends leave is always so sad, especially when it’s an icon of the community like Kat!
I hope you have a wonderful September! ✨🍂
Oh this is so exciting, an art challenge, woah! Wishing you all the best for it, excited to hear about your progress! <3
Completely agree with you. It's been the strangest year so far, and I've been there for almost 9 years now 😂 I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling this way. It just feels like the spark has lost a bit of its light. It's making me sad and... well, I don't really know what to do about it, either.
Thank you so, so much, I hope that September has been kind to you <3
I like autumn, but I cannot believe it’s September already 😱 Love that you got to travel back to England!
I really want to rad Unnecessary Drama, as I loved Nina Kenwood’s debut so much 🥰 Those Summer Nights also sounds great!
I can’t believe how time flies, either, I mean… WHY, how, ahah.
Oh you will LOVE Unnecessary Drama, I can feel it. I hope you’ll be able to read it soon! 🥰
