Good morning, good afternoon, good evening friends! How are you? I hope your week’s going well so far. Today I’m back with another bookish tag, well…actually, it’s more of a personal tag, since the questions I answered are a bit different…Here’ s to hoping you’ll enjoy this!
I was tagged by the amazing Shanti to do this, thank you so much! If you don’t know her or her blog, what are you waiting for? Her blog is one of the best, her reviews and discussions are always so insightful.
The Rules
1. Each answer you give to a question has to be more than two sentences long. Or at the very least, you have to make those two sentences meaningful.
2. There will be two bonus questions at the end, that the blogger gets to change to whatever they want to ask when they nominate someone else. The first six questions, however, are set in stone.
3. At the end you must nominate three to five other bloggers. Okay, so you don’t have to, but that would be nice if you could. (I want my blog name to spread on for all of eternity.)
1. What is one of your pet peeves?
Are you ready for the list?! I’ll make this rather short, I promise. But I’m really annoyed when people don’t bother to answer your texts, especially when you know they saw it. I’m really bothered when so-called friends don’t bother to take time to send a text once in a while, just to ask how you’ve been. I don’t know if these are pet peeves, or just overall disappointment.
So let’s talk about a bookish pet peeve instead, and tell you how scared I am of book spines breaking. TERRIFIED.

2. What is one of your favourite songs at the moment?
I haven’t been listening to a ton of music lately, however I have a special love for the new song by The Veronicas, On Your Side. I am forever in awe of what these girls do in terms of music, but also in terms of engagement, with living a healthy life and also raising awareness on all sorts of things. I love these girls.
3. Who is your favourite blogger?
This question is so unfair because I have SO many bloggers that I am platonically in love with. I have met way too many incredible people out there, and it’s so hard to choose my favorite. So I’m going to cheat and go with three of my favorite bloggers and among the best friends I’ve made here: Kat, Fadwa and Reg.
4. What’s the nicest thing you’ve seen someone do recently?
This book tag honestly is the hardest thing ever haha. I have very little faith at times, so I think I’ll struggle for a moment before knowing what to write here…Can I say my sister ordering me books? It’s a nice thing, isn’t it?

5. What’s something you regret doing?
Oh boy, let’s not go down that road now, shall we…
6. If you could only take three items with you to a deserted island, what would they be?
The cliché question, and if I’m being very practical here I’d go with the same answer as Shanti, with a way to reach people and tell them I’m here, like a phone that actually works on a remoted island…And probably a good book while I wait.
7. What makes you trust someone?
When people give me a reason to trust them, I will ?
8. If you could teach anything, what would it be?
I actually never considered being a teacher, because I couldn’t be able to stand my students, I think. But if I had to choose, I’d probably pick English. Favorite subject of all times, and probably why I’m writing this right now, in English. Thinking in English. Reading, loving English.
I want to tag for these questions…
Yarravy @ Hiraeth for the pages
And YOU as well, if you feel like answering these questions!
I agree about book spines breaking, I hate creasing them, try my best not to but with 800 page fantasy paperbacks it gets really hard after about half way! 🙁
Yes, perfect answer to the trust question!!!!! 🙂
Oh yes, it’s so hard not to break them when they are just too big. It always makes me sad but well…better that than not reading the book at all, I guess?
Thank you so much Drew! 🙂
I like when tags get all personal. It might make you happy to know that I have been listening to On Your Side while I read this post. I didn’t know The Veronicas at all, but I really like this song. Actually, to be totally honest, I put it on, got totally distracted by the music video, then played it a second time and read your post. That video is intense! Also at the end I was like, Girl, call an ambulance? Anyway.
I think you would make a great English teacher, cause you have all the best book recs. You would turn the terrible tweens into socially acceptable bookworms.
I totally get your pet peeve while being horrible at responding to messages myself – although more so Facebook and Twitter PMs. I sometimes feel like I just have nothing to contribute (hey I waitressed for 13 hours today and now I’m really tired and all I can do is lie in my bed and listen to podcasts doesn’t make for the most interesting catch up, haha). Maybe sometimes your friends are feeling that way too, rather than just being crappy. But, on the other hand, it might just be them being crappy.
Ohhh wow that’s SO great! I’m glad you liked the song, and it is quite intense haha I had the same thought at the end of that video.
Thank you! I considered being a teacher at a time, but I never would have handled the students, I think, haha.
Oh well that I can understand, obviously I tend to forget things as well at times, or I am too tired to respond, but when it happens a lot with the same people…well I try to question this a bit.
Thank you <3
I’m sorry people are doing that to you. It feels horrible. I have had that experience in the past where when I finally see a friend like that they are all ‘we haven’t talked in forever!’ and I want to be like yeah cause you never text back *evil glare*.
Hahahaha, well…I want to say that a lot as well, but I’m too polite to haha.
This seems like such a fun tag, and I loved reading your answers Marie. 😀 <3
I completely get what you mean about breaking book spines. And I have to admit I may be a little guilty about the text message thing. Not because I read them and never reply, just because I tend to put my phone down somewhere and then forget about it, so it's not until hours later that I see messages and get around to replying to them. I need to be better about that.
I loved your answer for the desert island question to, you'll definitely find a way off that island before too long! 😀
Thank you so muchh, Beth! <3 <3
Haha, oh I get it, it happens to me as well at times, but I hate it so much when I forget things like that haha.
That’s all right! <3 Oh yeah I always hate it when that happens, I can't seem to get it in my head to stop though! 🙂
Haha yes me neither! 🙂
Aww that is really sweet of your sister! Awesome post!
She’s the best sister 🙂 Thank you! <3
Aww that’s lovely- you’re welcome <3
One of my pet peeves is hair on clothing. A (literal) pet peeve is my cat lying on top of my blanket/me as I sleep so that I can’t move (but I love her anyway). Two of my favourite songs are Every Breaking Wave by U2 and It’s Quiet Uptown from Hamilton. 🙂
Haha, oh well I’d love her as well…If I had a cat haha. I love cats so, so much <3 <3
Thanks for doing this tag, Marie! Another one of my pet peeves is my dog getting in my way when I run (a literal pet peeve, haha), and one of my favourite songs is ‘it’s quiet uptown’ from Hamilton. I love your answers <3
Thank you for tagging me! 🙂 Oh I need to listen to that song, thanks for the suggestion 😀
This is gonna be hard Marie! I’m gonna suffer through this tag haha
Haha YES, I had a hard time answering all the questions and I thought you’d share some of the pain with me?! Haha, I can’t wait to read your answers 😀
Haha well I guess I’ll have to 🙂
Oh there’s no obligation if you don’t feel inspired 🙂
Don’t worry 🙂 I’m sure I’ll figure something out haha
YES I’m sure you will 😀
As the slightly obsessive person who dearly loves my books, I have spent days straining my fingers in an attempt to hold the books JUST RIGHT so as not to crack the spines. The struggle is real! And I love it when relatives buy me books! Just makes me all gooey and warm inside…
Favorite song at the moment is probably Tragedy and Magic by LEAH. (Love me some Celtic Fantasy Metal!)
Hahaha, wow well that must be hard work when it’s a 800 pages paperback?! 😮
Ohhh well thanks for the music suggestion, I need to listen to this 🙂
My friends and I are all kinda terrible at replying to texts, haha. If it’s on something timely (i.e. where to meet, what time, etc.) we’re really good but when we’re just catching up (which I do a lot of since many of my friends live overseas), we just have like year-long text messages that we reply to once a day or two days or something… so it’s not immediate, but it goes on for a veeeeery long time. I do get annoyed though when people just don’t reply ever and it’s obvious that you’re expecting an answer… or when you ask questions and they don’t ever ask you questions about you. :/
And thank you so much for the shoutout! You’re one of my favourite bloggers as well so it’s an honour. ?
Hahaha, oh well that happens with some friends of mine as well, but it’s a good feeling knowing you can “take your time” with friends like that. But whenever I ask a question and it just stays unanswered for months, it’s so annoying, and yes same goes for when people never ask questions about you. I’m not a big fan of talking about myself, but when friends don’t even take time to know what’s up with your life, I just…I don’t really like it.
Thank YOU, Reg! <3 <3
I so wanted to teach English. Then I started noticing all the teens around me. Scary, taller than me, and with apparently no respect. Then I gave up on the idea, hahahaha! I’d love to teach it at university, though!
Hahahaha, I get it. Oh that’d be great, I can totally picture you as a university teacher!! 😀
Well, this indeed did not look like an easy tag 🙂 I totally agree about both your pet peeves: I will do whatever it takes not to break my book spines and I hate when it inevitably happens anyway. And I’m okay if people don’t respond to texts right away, but if there is no reply in 24 hours I get a little peeved. I hadn’t heard the Veronicas song yet, but I’m listening now and it’s indeed great! As of today I also got addicted to Ed Sheeran’s new song that was just released: Castle On The Hill <3
OHHHH yes! I’m so, so happy you mentioned Ed Sheeran, I am obsessed with this new song, it’s so beautiful and the lyric video is just perfect <3 Thank you so much! <3
Loved your answers! Breaking the spine breaks my soul a little bit every time. I physically cringe when people mistreat books and then they look at me like I am crazy but … MY PRECIOUS PAPER CHILDREN!
And very practical and clever thinking on the desert island question. I would want a way to get off it too!
I always feel so honored when you mention me <3 I LOVE YOU!
Thank you so much Kat! Haha yes I do the same, I am overprotective of my books at times and people think I am crazy haha.
I LOVE YOU, of course I was going to mention you, you are the best <3 <3
<3 <3 <3 bless your overprotective heart!
Awesome answers! I totally understand the whole “don’t take time to check up on you”. I used to wonder what’s up when that happened, but I tell myself that sooner or later we’ll reach and once we meet, we’ll probably be pretty pumped to see each other anyways! True friends will always be your friend, whether it has been a month or a year! 😀 Having an older sibling that can ACTUALLY get you BOOKS as GIFTS is freeeaaaaking awesome! Definitely deserves an unending hug 😛 Oh, and I also wanted to wish you Happy New Year and hope 2017 brings you a lot of awesome books and plenty of happiness, Marie! 😀
– Lashaan
OH yes, I agree on that. There are people you don’t really keep in touch with too much, but when you finally get around to seeing each other again, it’s like nothing has changed. These are the long lasting friendships ?
Thank you!! Wishing you a happy new year as well, filled with love, great books and success <3 <3
I love this tag (and your answers!) <3 and I'm sorry I just saw this but thank you for tagging me ahaha I sooo agree with your pet peeve but my BIGGEST pet peeve would be people coming late. Indonesians are kinda famous for their tardiness so yeah that sucks </3 my favorite songs at the moment would be from our local singer named 'Tulus'. He just released a new album and I basically love all of them hahaha I'm listening to them as I typed this 😛
Oh no need to apologize! <3 I get it, I hate when people are late as well, it makes me SO mad at times hahaha. Ohh thank you, I need to give this song a listen, you made me curious now 😀
I’m one of those horrible people who forget to respond to texts… mostly because I read it then respond in my head and never actually send the text. I am awful! In my defense, being a mother to two small humans has sucked all the brain cells from my brain… is that a legit excuse?!
Hahaha you are not, though it tend to annoy me, I know I do the exact same thing at times haha. Of course it’s a legit excuse 😀
PS – Fadwa and Reg are two of my favorite bloggers to follow as well 🙂
Oh I’m glad to hear that! They are the best 😀
Thank you for the tag my forever crazy! I know what you mean about the friend thing – some of my friends who I’ve been so close to for years just drifted and it just feels like they never care anymore? Not a single text or ‘hey’ for months or a year and when we talk its always me who always seems to be the only one to care and it really hurts too. AHHH okay now I feel like I’ve kind of flattened the mood so BOOKS! I don’t mind so much second-hand books that are bent but when its my own new book, sometimes IT HURTS AND THERE IS SO MUCH FEAR EVERY TIME. AND YOUR SISTER IS JUST THE SWEETEST TOO! <3 Thank you again so so much for the tag! Its such a little fun thing to do to get back into the blogging groove! 😉
You’re welcome! <3 Oh I'm glad to hear you're feeling the same way. It's so sad when that happens, but I guess it's just life is this way and people drift apart, but the best ones stay, right? 🙂
The best ones really do! <3 <3
