Hello friends, how are you? I’m back with another bookish tag today, because…why not? And let’s face it, I have waaaay too many to get through…
The lovely Kat @ Life & Other Disasters tagged me, because…well, she knows me well. I LOVE food, but then again, who doesn’t?! So, obviously, doing a food related tag will end up making me hungry… but well. Let’s do this!
Chocolate covered Pretzels – a book couple you never thought would work/get together
Well, I’m going to steal Kat’s answer here, because she is right. I NEVER expected Juliet and Warner to get together in the first book. NEVER.
Prunegales (see what I did there? the names trademarked so I couldn’t use it) – an addictive book you can’t get enough of
Hm,The Wrath and The Dawn was kind of addictive, so I’m going to go with that. All of the glorious food in that book was kind of addicting just as well.
Trail mix – A book with a variety of characters
I can’t think of anything, I’m really going to cheat and talk about Because You’ll Never Meet Me…just BECAUSE. There aren’t that many characters in it, but it’s a wonderful, diverse, heartbreaking story about friendship and finding out who you really are. I loved it.
Fruit bowls – An unpredictable character
Once again I’ll just find an excuse to quote a book, Never, Never, by Colleen Hoover. Because to be honest, since the two main characters can’t remember a thing, they are kind of unpredictable. Or maybe it’s the whole situation, because you have absolutely NO idea what will happen next. And I NEED TO KNOW.
Nut bar – Your go-to book
I don’t really know which book I could quote on that one, so I’m going to say that, whenever I need a great book, my to-go genre is contemporary, because I’m kind of a huge marshmallow.
Popcorn – A character you can’t help but like
Isla, from Isla and the happily ever after? I’ve heard some mixed things about her, some people didn’t really like her, but me, I loved her. Because I can completely relate to all of her struggles, and I feel like she’s a bit like me.
Hmmm…I agree, it’s not so much a go-to book as a go-to genre. Fantasy is always my first choice for new reading or re-reading.
It’s so great to have a genre we love so much to read. It feels like coming home everytime we start a new / old book 🙂 Thank you for stopping by! 🙂
Yay for snack food! I really like muffins and also chips. I would say that my goto book is maybe daughter of smoke and bone–I love reading little sections when I need a pick-me-up. I’m reading The School of Good and Evil right now, and I would say that it matches gummy bears: a perfect blend of flavour, if a bit chewy. love this tag!
Ohh muffins are THE BEST. Which flavour is your favorite? I haven’t read Daughter of Smoke and Bone, but heard a lot about it, maybe now that I know it’s your to-go book, I will finally add it to my TBR. I know I can trust your recommendations! 😀 Thank you so much Shanti! <3
I haven’t read any of those yet! Yikes! I need to get going!
Oh well if you have any time to add them to your endless TBR…please do! They’re all VERY good! 🙂 Thank you for stopping by! 🙂
I just need to break a leg or something so I’m couch bound for a few weeks and can catch up on my tbr ?
I get the feeling. Someday we’ll read ALL the books ??
FOOD. Now I have to move my lazy ass and fetch some :p That was a scrumptious tag!
Haha, well who doesn’t LOVE food? If you want to do this tag, FEEL FREE to, I’d love to read your answers! 😀
Favorite snack food?!?? Hmmm… probably anything sweet 😀
Ahh we are twins! I LOVE everything sweet, I could eat that ALL the time. Probably wouldn’t be healthy though haha. ??
For me, anything covered in chocolate is a win! ? And a go-to book, maybe Anna and the French Kiss? It’s so adorable and I can never get sick of it! That or Just One Day ?
This was super fun to read. Books & food, what else do we need?! 😛
Ohhh yes, Anna is such a good choice, it always makes me smile, I love that stoy 🙂 Thank you so, so much, and we need NOTHING MORE. Food, and books yay! 😀 😀
I love Never Never for your fruit bowl choice! It fits perfectly. 🙂
Aww thank you, I couldn’t think of any other book fit for that category! 🙂
I loved Shatter Me. I don’t really have a to-go book, but my go-to genre is mysteries. I love snacks, don’t have a favorite.
So glad you loved it!! The whole series is great 🙂 Thank you for stopping by! 🙂
I love food tags as well! I haven’t seen this one before but I really enjoyed your answers!
I completely agree with you on Shatter Me. I knew before going into the series there was a love triangle between Warner, Adam and Juliette but reading the first book I couldn’t imagine what everyone saw between Juliette and Warner that made some people want her to end up with him. My opinion changed after I read his novella though!
I also loved Isla. The last book was my favourite of the Anna and the French Kiss series and I loved Isla the best as well! 🙂
Oh well if you want to do it, feel free to, it’s a lot of fun! 🙂
I couldn’t have imagined Juliette with Warner before reading it all. In the first book, it just seems like an impossible equation!
Isla is the best, I could relate to her way too much ahah 🙂 Thank you Beth! <3
I should probably get through my queue of tags waiting for me first but I’ll definitely keep this one in mind. 🙂
I wondered if maybe I was missing something, and then I thought there was nothing Warner could do to redeem himself in my eyes. Granted I knew I was wrong about that by the time I got started on the second book!
Yeah relatable characters are the ones you love the most aren’t they? 😀
That’s all right. ❤️
There are SO many tags to get done, I get it, ahah. 🙂
I really like apples, and also most sweet things. As for my go-to book, I don’t know, but I do like contemporary, because it’s easy to read when I’m stressed 🙂
Ohhh yes, apples <3 I agree with you about contemporaries, they are just perfect books to relax, and bring a smile on your face 🙂 Thank you so much Shar! <3
My favourite snacks are apples but after that it’s chocolate chip cookies all the way! For a go-to book, I’m always moving on to the next thing with my reading, but if I did have one it would definitely be the Harry Potter series – I could read them all a hundred times and never get bored! x
Ahh chocolate chips cookies are an excellent choice, I love these so much <3 Harry Potter is so, so good, and it's always great to get back into that universe 🙂 Thank you so much for stopping by! 🙂
Great post and such a fun tag! 🙂
Thank you so, so much Ashley, glad you liked it! 🙂
I agree with you with Because You’ll Never Meet Me, Marie. I am so in love with how it is written. <3
I’m so glad you agree! I really loved that story, the originality of it all! 🙂 Thank you Yani <3 <3
The Wrath and the Dawn is SO ADDICTIVE! I think I could read it over and over again and still feel the same way I did when I first read it!
Wonderful post Marie! I missed reading your posts. xo
It is! I couldn’t stop reading, and I am SO impatient to read the next book. Did you read the whole series? 🙂 Thank you so, so much Josie <3 <3 <3
I haven’t! How many books are out so far?
Two, it’s a duology 🙂
This tag made me so hungry, what the heck, lol. But yes, yes, YES to contemporary!! Contemporary is definitely my go-to genre as well 😀 I promise I will read TWATD soon — just for you!! 🙂
-Jess @jbelkbooks
AHHH yes you need to read TWATD soon, VERY soon, it’s just so, so good! 😀 Thank you Jess! <3
Always welcome, Marie! <3
-Jess @jbelkbooks
Love this tag! But then again, I love food almost as much as I love books, if not even more… 😉 And food in books is always great – The Wrath and the Dawn did have some magnificent food descriptions!
I don’t think I have a go-to book either, more like a genre. But even then, I’m torn between fantasy and contemporary. It would depend on my mood 🙂
I also really liked Isla, she felt very relatable!
Aw so glad you like it! I didn’t tag anyone, but if you want to do it, feel free to, I’d love to read your answers 🙂
Agreed, FOOD and books are the best combo, I love both, and The Wrath and The Dawn was just perfect, that book made me so hungry 🙂
Isla was one of the most relatable characters ever, I could really see myself in her 🙂
Thank you so, so much for stopping by 🙂
Thanks, would definitely love to do this tag someday! <3
Oh you’re so welcome, I’ll be looking forward to your answers! 😀
So sorry that I didn’t see this earlier. I was really out of the whole blogosphere. I hope next week it gets easier and I will be back to “normal” 🙂 loved your answers!
Oh no need to apologize, Kat! I hope next week will be less hectic for you as well <3
Thank you :’) I could need a break .. again hahaha
Oh really? I hope you can get one soon, sending you hugs and chocolate <3
Thanks 😀 <3
I basically DIED of hunger while reading The Wrath and the Dawn.?? It was so deliciously glorious yuuuum. And I really loved the Shatter Me series and SO shipped Juliet and Warner. Although the change of ship did totally surprise me too!
Aaand, my go-to genre is probably magical realism or fantasy. Anything fantasy = MY LIFE BASICALLY. I LOVE IT SO MUCH. Eeeep!
You too? I couldn’t stop thinking about all the glorious food in that book, I loved it so much ??
Ohh I love magical realism as well, though I’m far from being an expert on it, I really love this genre 🙂 Thank you so, so much Cait!
My go-to snacks are definitely savoury. I love chips! But at my desk at work, I have a massive tub of Jelly Belly jellybeans that really should not be at my desk 😀
OMG I totally agree with you on Juliette and Warner. After that first book, I thought Warner was a massive creep and that they’d never happen. I also agree with you on Isla. She’s my favourite of the three girls and I can’t really put into words why I love her so much! Eeeep! I have yet to read Because You’ll Never Meet Me and I have no idea why! Jeann gave me that book almost a year ago and it’s sitting on my desk at work (okay that’s probably why. I should just bring it home). It sounds right up my alley though so I’m hoping that I’ll remember to read it soon.
Hahaha, ohhh well…why shouldn’t they be, if you ask me, these Jelly Belly jellybeans are right where they belong ? Because You’ll Never Meet Me really is worth a read! It’s so under the radar I kind of forget about it, at times, but I’m glad I gave it a shot. The story was so different than anything I have read. I hope you’ll enjoy it! And thank you, Jenna <3
