Hi everyone, how are you? Today’s another day in the Blogging Extravaganza, and I am going to PITCH A BOOK. I already put up a review for that one, but I feel like talking about it again, because it was such a thrilling read, I think EVERYONE should read it. So, since I usually don’t do lists, I will do one for this, because well, people like lists, don’t they? Come on, I KNOW you do.

- THIS STORY IS BASICALLY CRAZY. Right from the first page, it’s thrilling, it’s crazy, it’s weird and intriguing, and you’re wondering just what the hell you got yourself into. But aren’t those the best books?
- DIVERSE AND REALISTIC MAIN CHARACTER. We all praise diversity, and it’s important, so here we have a POC as a main character, FOR ONCE, it’s great. And it’s not just that: she acts and thinks in a realistic way. You’ll end up liking and loving her, sometimes being annoyed by her, but that’s just because she FEELS SO REAL. And she has some CRAZY things inside of her mind, too. Just thought you should know.
- REAL OR NOT REAL, ASKS PEETA? I DO NOT KNOW. If you love a good, slightly creepy thriller, then WHY HAVEN’T YOU READ THAT ONE ALREADY? If not, well, if you’re looking to be surprised, then this is it, too. There are just SO MANY twists and turns and things you won’t see coming.
- LIKE ROMANCE? GOT IT. DON’T LIKE ROMANCE? GOT IT, TOO. If there’s a little bit of romance for us cheesy marshmallows, it’s not at all the main focus, or in any case stealing the spotlight on the major intrigue, not, at all. There are interesting connections between characters, feelings, friendships and feelings, too. It’s good, it’s refreshing, but it’s all very still MAKING YOU SECOND GUESS EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE.
- A REAL PAGE-TURNER. Because the pages flip on their own in your hands, and you’re just eating this book away.
Now, the answer you’re ALL waiting for…THE BOOK you should all discover is *drumrolls*

Will Sarah Merson’s shiny new prep school change her life forever or bring it to a dark and sinister end?
When Sarah Merson receives the opportunity of a lifetime to attend the most elite prep school in the country-Sanctuary Bay Academy-it seems almost too good to be true. But, after years of bouncing from foster home to foster home, escaping to its tranquil setting, nestled deep in Swans Island, couldn’t sound more appealing. Swiftly thrown into a world of privilege and secrets, Sarah quickly realizes finding herself noticed by class charmer, Nate, as well as her roommate’s dangerously attentive boyfriend, Ethan, are the least of her worries. When her roommate suddenly goes missing, she finds herself in a race against time, not only to find her, but to save herself and discover the dark truth behind Sanctuary Bay’s glossy reputation.
Wow, Sanctuary Bay sounds amazing! This sounds like so much fun, maybe I should try pitching a book sometime in the future on my blog ;D The latest book that I’ve been pitching like crazy is The Kiss of Deception, IT’S AMAZING!!!! Seriously, you have to read it!
It really is, I hope you’ll read it! 🙂 And yay, that post was so much fun to write, you should do it,I’d love to read it! I haven’t read that one, but if you say so…I might have to check it out 😀 Thank you! <3
this DOES sound so intriguing! Can’t believe I haven’t seen it around before.
And yes, I’m one of those cheesy marshmallows ;D
Well I haven’t heard about it a lot, either, and it makes me a bit sad, it was such a good read! I hope you’ll pick it up and love it as much as I did 😀
OHHH yay, *high five!*. Let’s be cheesy marshmallows, ahah 😀 Thank you so much!
This book sounds so good! I’ve heard a little bit about it (mainly from you recommending it, I think!), but I’ve heard it can be quite scary? This really appeals to me, because I love horror! The cover makes it look a bit scary too. It’s amazing that it has a POC main character – representation always makes the book feel a lot more realistic 😀

It is really good! It’s a bit scary at times, yes, and if you’re not used to it or don’t really like horror books, I think this might not be for you. But since you LOVE IT, I feel like you should love this one! 😀 Thank you so much Denise! <3
Well you’ve definitely managed to pitch this book to me 😀
It sounds amazing, and I love what you said in the first point as well, about it being thrilling, crazy, weird and intriguing. I almost need to start reading it right now 🙂
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED, yes! 😛 I’m really happy, I think if you love a good thriller, you’ll fall in love with that one. I didn’t expect to love it that much, but I’m glad I did. Let me know if you ever pick it up! 😀
Well, something else to add to my TBR pile then 😀 and you’ll be the first to know when I do pick it up as well!
YAY ! 😀
So you already know my thoughts on Sanctuary Bay. I’m just not a big fan of thrillers so for it to get 3 stars from me is really good (seeing that the other thrillers I’ve read never have). And I love the bullet formatting, but do what you’re comfortable with or feel like doing! I like all the ways you review books! 😉 And haha, thanks to your (I think it was a) Waiting on Wednesday post I discovered this book. ^.^
And I’d say drop everything and read The Truth About Forever (Sarah Dessen), A Gathering of Shadows (V.E. Schwab), and possibly The Winner’s Curse (Marie Rutkoski)! 😉 As you see Dessen is still priority level for me; plus, I think you’d really like it, Marie, since you love contemporaries!
You know what, I’m just going to write down those books, and they’ll be the first ones I puchase the next time I have to buy books. -trying to stick to a budget is HARD. I want all the books… But I’m definitely taking your advice, especially on Sarah Dessen. I’m sure I will love it!
YAY! Well I can’t wait to see your thoughts on them in the future, Marie! 😀
You’ll be the first to know 😀
Aw thank you so much! I have to admit, sometimes I see other bloggers writing reviews in bullet points, and they just do it SO greatly, ahah. I guess everyone has their own style, though! 🙂
Ahaha, I love how you did the reveal at the end, because you did get me very interested in Sanctuary Bay!! 😀
Aww well I’m glad you liked it, and YES do read it, I’d love to know your thoughts! 😀
Ooh that’s such a cool way to do a book recommendation! I really wanna check this out now!
Aww thank you! Well I hope you will, it’s really worth it! 🙂
Awesome!! Thanks for the recommendation! 😀
You’re welcome! 🙂
I’m sold! I love your format here! And lists definitely work 😉 I’ll add it to my list and try to get to it soon!! Thanks for sharing, Marie 🙂
Aww thank you so, so much Annika, I’m happy you liked it! And I can’t wait for you to read it now, let me know when you do ! 😀
UM OKAY YOU JUST SOLD ME WITH YOUR EPIC PITCHING SKILLS. I hadn’t even looked twice at this book before (I can partially blame not having heard much about it and also the boring cover #ShallowBookworm) But omgggg it sounds AMAZING AND I NEED. *grabby hands*
*dashes to goodreads*
Aww this makes me SO HAPPY, you have no idea <3 I know, that book's so underhyped, and, well, no worries, I'm a HUGE cover-lover, too. IT is amazing, and it gets really weird and creepy at times, so I'm sure you should LOVE it. I hope you'll read it! 🙂
Thank you so much Cait ! 😀
