Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Brokeandbookish. This week’s theme is a freebie theme about music. I don’t know why, but, while I searched songs for that topic, I ended up with an awful lot of EMOTIONAL songs, so I guess that’ll be my topic. Listen to all of these, if you don’t know them, and please, cry with me. I’ll provide you tissues, and we can write emotional books to go with these together, after, if those inspire you !
1 • James Bay, Let it Go
THAT song. I first heard it on The Royals (this show is CRAZY, btw), and I fell in love with it. I can pretty much imagine a sob story or something contemporary and sweet about, well, letting go.
2 • Taylor Swift, All too Well
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMK434P_lGA
THIS is my favorite song of all times, I think. Because it tells a story. And I’m always feeling a bit unsatisfied when I listen to it, because I would love to read that story. Maybe I should WRITE it?
3 • You Me At Six, Fireworks
Okay, confession time: that song has been, for years, my to-go song to get inspired to write. I just feel like it’s so powerful, and expresses so many feelings…I don’t know, but I’m pretty sure if it were a book, I would cry over it for days.
4 • Ellie Goulding, I know you care
I feel like this post is going to be full of sad songs, and let me apologize. BUT this song is so beautiful, and I mean, sorry about the video, but, Ross and Rachel…I cried. I would read the book for that song, and it would break my heart.
5 • Ed Sheeran, Photograph
For that beautiful song, I think I would see a story about childhood, maybe about childhood love -my favorite trope, sorry-, about memories, past and present colliding…That would be a good contemporary story!
6 • The Veronicas, Revenge is sweeter than you ever were
I don’t know if any of you guys know those amazing Australian twins. They’re my favorite singers, I think, and I just love all of her songs. Somehow, with this topic, I picked out this one, because, who doesn’t love a sweet revenge story? .
7 • Sia, Alive
I really like Sia’s songs, I think they are very powerful, and I’m pretty amazed by all the dance moves in her video clips. I have no idea why, but with that song, I would perfectly imagine a kind of dystopian story….
8 • Jimmy Eat World, Hear You Me
Okay, I found out about that song on A Cinderella Story movie, with Hillary Duff. I’m not even sorry. I just love that song so, so much, and I would imagine a story about going away, or about finding who you are, a coming of age story.
9 • All Time Low, Remembering Sunday
I just found out that song, again, and I just remembered how much I LOVED it. Raw emotions, crazy lyrics, I don’t know, but I feel like if this song were a book, it would be one I LOVE.
10 • Ron Pope, In my bones
This song is absolutely beautiful, and if you don’t know about it, well you should listen to it. It’s filled with emotions, and…well, I guess I’m loving when there are EMOTIONS, okay?.

I love Ed Sheeran so much. I’d make any of his songs into a book. Great list!!
My TTT
Thank you so much! <3 Oh, I love ALL of his songs, too, they would make heartbreaking novels I'm sure! 🙂
I’ll listen to pretty much anything! Love The Veronicas. 🙂
Aww, so glad to find someone else loving the Veronicas! They are perfect <3 Thank you so much for stopping by! 😀
Fantastic post! 🙂 I adore so many of the songs you’ve mentioned. I’m a sucker for emotional, powerful songs too.
Aww thank you so much! <3 Those kind of songs are the best 🙂
I too love All Too Well. It may be my favourite Swifty track. You’re right: it’s basically a full story already.
It’s her best song, I think. Yes it is! I heard that there is a 10-minutes-long version of that song, and I’m so sad we can’t hear it. It really is a full story, I would love for it to come alive 🙂
I love deep and emotional songs! I just can connect so much better with them, I love going deep into the lyrics and pulling apart the emotions as I listen to the rhythm and the music! These are some lovely song choices.
Great post Marie!
Me too! I’m so glad to hear you feel the same way about this as I do. I guess I just love all of the feelings a simple song, words and music, can bring to us! <3
Thank you so much Josie! <3
That scene from The Royals was so emotional. I already loved that song before but after that I started loving it even more.
I haven’t heard of The Veronicas for so long. I used to love their songs 🙂
I found out about that song thanks to the royals -one of the many reasons why that show is AWESOME, I miss it already 🙁 -, and I love it so much! <3
you're right, they're kind of under the radar these past years, despite their new album…it's too bad, I think!
Thank you so much Catia! <3 (I'm sorry, I can't do the accent on my keyboard 🙁 )
True. The Royals always has the most amazing songs. I also miss it. Can’t wait for season 3
I can’t wait either! Do you know when it starts again?
I don’t no. I think they haven’t started production yet so it will take a few months
Oh no, the wait is going to be loooong 🙁
Ooooh I’d love to see any of James Bay’s songs made into novels, or be a part of any romatic movie’s soundtrack. Just like Ed Sheeran’s lyrics, both write such wonderful lines that beg to be read and heard 😀 great list Marie! this week was probably the hardest TTT for me but I love how I’m discovering so many new artists to listen to 😀
Yes exactly! I love their lyrics so, so much, they are so powerful and filled with emotions, it breaks my heart all the time. Thank you so much Joan! <3 I agree, I had such a hard time doing this post, at first, finding out which songs to pick, ahah. But yes, for once we'll find new songs to add to our playlists, instead of adding to our TBR :p
I’m not a huge Taylor Swift fan but I agree that song would make a good book.
I listen to a little bit of everything, I love songs with powerful messages the ones that make you cry and the ones that make you feel good.
I love your blog name by the way!
Tina The Bookworm
I love those kinds of songs, too, they are the best. It’s so great to see how people can give such powerful messages through songs and lyrics! <3
Ohh thank you so much, you're so sweet! <3
So many great choices this week! Photograph is really, really sweet, and I actually didn’t realise it’s about parent-child relationships until I saw the video. <3
Thank you so much! <3 That video is one of the sweetest thing on earth, I think. Little Ed looks so cute!
I love all of your choices — especially Ed Sheeran!
Aww thank you so much! <3
Great list! I love the song All to Well! 😀
Krystianna @ Downright Dystopian
Thank you so much! Ohh yay, that song is incredible 😀
Have you seen the trailer for Me Before You?? It has Ed Sheeran’s Photograph in it… and although the movie is based on the book which isn’t based on the song (ITS A BIT CONFUSING, SORRY), the book is FANTASTIC, and I think it reflects the song really well, albeit in a different way to what you wrote in your post 🙂
It’s not confusing at all! I saw the trailer, and I want to read the book SO BADLY, it seems like such a heartbreaking story…so I’m all in! Did you read it? 😀
Thank you for stopping by! <3
YES I READ IT – I read it because the trailer looked so GOOD – and the book was actually EVEN better (probably because it was longer haha)
Haha, well I really need to read it too, then, I can’t wait! 😀
I absolutely love this list! I’ve discovered so many new songs today thanks to you <3
Awww, this makes me so happy! Thank you so much! <3
I love the songs! Whenever I hear Hear You Me I have to think of Cinderella Story and when I hear Let It Go, I think of Jaspenor angst hahaha
Hahaha, me too! it’s crazy how we always end up associating some songs with tv shows and movies. I feel like watching A Cinderella story again, now… :p
I can always watch that movie. It just never gets old!
You’re so right, it’s one of those movies I can Watch over and over again!
Yes! To so many of your choices! I am a Switie at heart, so if I had to choose one, All Too Well would be amazing! <3
*Swiftie* lol
All Too Well is my favorite song of hers, it’s just incredible and filled with so many emotions <3 Thank you so much!! <3
Omg yess fabulous list, Marie!! I love this. <3 You're right, I feel like All Too Well would make a great book too! It already tells a story all on its own. Almost all of Ed Sheeran's songs are book-worthy material, haha. Love Photograph! 😀
Aww thank you so much Analee, you’re the sweetest! <3 All Too Well really is a story already, I would love to read more of it, though! And yes, Ed Sheeran is the master of emotions, haha, I love that song too much! <3
OH MY GOSH, I love that you mentioned All Time Low! They’re one of my all time favorite bands and just listening to their music gives me so many great memories from when I was in school before college. I love this week’s T10T topic. I wish I participated! I would have totally made it K-pop inspired or something. XD
REALLY? Oh I’m so happy you like them, I love their music! Oh yes, it makes me so nostalgic, listening to their songs, too, haha. Ohh well you can always do it later, I’m really unfamiliar with those kinds of songs, but I would love to discover some of those! 😀
All Too Well would make a great book! It’s one of my favourite Taylor Swift songs too.

Yaay, so happy to hear that! This song is so beautiful <3 Thank you for stopping by!
I agree 🙂
