Hi everyone, how are you? I hope your week is going well, so far. Because you know I’m very curious, tell me… What are you reading today?
Today, as every wednesday, I’m going to answer some questions, with a book tag…and maybe sing a little bit, too? I mean, this is the soundtrack to my life book tag, so I guess a little song is in order to go with that? You’re in luck, I’m quite a bad singer, so you’ll just get some answers in writing, haha 😉 Before, though, I will thank the wonderful Càtia for tagging me to do this. If you don’t know her, or her blog…well, what are you waiting for?
Opening Credits : Favorite Childhood book
With no hesitation, I’ll have to say The Golden Compass. Okay, I’m cheating a little bit, because this is not my favorite childhood book, but my favorite early-teenagers’ years book. That still counts, right? Plus, I’m sure my favorite childhood book must be something French, so you wouldn’t know about it, haha.
Waking up : A book that got you out of a reading slump
This question is kind of hard, because as far as I can remember, I don’t have a lot of reading slumps… I would talk about the Shatter Me series for that one, and say that it’s one of those books that reminds me why I love reading so, so much (and words, too).
School : A book you had to read for school that you ended up loving
I think I’ve already answered that question before, but I’m not sure…Anyway, I’ll go with the same answer, Lord of the Flies, by William Golding. For some reason, I think the story of all those boys in their own little dystopia, made me curious about the genre.
Falling In Love : An author you love so much you want to read all of their books
Can I be very, very obvious with that one, and go with John Green? If it’s your first time here, you probably guessed thanks to my blog’s name, that I love him as a writer, and as a person, too. I’d read all of his books, obviously. To be a little less obvious, I would read all of Tahereh Mafi’s books, too, and I’m definitely planning on reading ALL the Patrick Ness’ books, ALL the Jandy Nelson’s books, ALL the Moïra Fowley-Doyle’s books…
Fight : Book with the best action sequences
Okay, I’m not so big on the books with action sequences, reading all those contemporaries and stuff, haha. So if I had to choose, on the top of my mind, I’d say Sanctuary Bay, because DAMN, that book was CRAZY. I don’t know if those action sequences are the best, but they did make my heart speed up. I loved it.
Break up : A book or series you didn’t finish
and do not intend to finish
I’m sorry, I had to strike that last bit, because I didn’t finish reading the Pretty Little Liars series, yet. THERE ARE SO MANY books so please forgive me. But I still want to know how this all ends. I can’t help it. I’m definitely intending on finishing this. I don’t know when, ahah, but I WILL.
Hanging With Friends : Book you think everyone else should read
There are so many books I loved lately, but I feel like I’m talking about those on a daily basis now, so, to spare you a little bit, I think I will ask everyone to read immediately the GREAT Awaken series. I don’t hear enough about this series, and I think that it’s really, really good. Go check it out!
Breakdown : Book that seriously affected you/had you crying your eyes out
I was completely moved when I read Vanishing Girls. This book was so beautiful, and heartbreaking, and just, Lauren Oliver once again convinced me of her awesomeness.
Roadtrip : You favorite series (more than 3 books)
Without a doubt, I can answer that question and say, the Mara Dyer series. It’s so weird, kind of creepy at times, terrifyingly wonderful, and Michelle Hodkin writes like a dream. Plus, there’s a certain Noah in those books that I can’t help but love. And Jamie is the best. And EVERYTHING is just so good about those books.
Flashback : Your favorite book from 5 years ago
WHAT kind of question is that, my memory is SO weak I can’t remember hahaha. I LOVED that series, it’s called The Princess Diaries, and I’ve read all the books…a while ago, now.
Getting Back Together : What book can you not stop rereading
Wedding : A book that is really special to you
Ohhh, that one is very, very hard. I think I would go with Uglies, because I’ve read this so many years ago, yet it made me fall in love with the dystopia genre. I loved the world-building, the wonderful yet scary idea behind that world full of beauty. I think that book will always be special to me. I’d love to re-read it, soon.
Moment of Triumph : Longest book you’ve ever read
Nothing new here, I’ve already answered this question, and it’s always Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix who wins that one. Harry Potter, this was such a big book full of love and magic.
Death Scene : Book or series you wish had ended differently
I loved Eleanor & Park so, so much, it’s actually one of my favorites. I liked how it ended, but…it kind of broke my heart, too?! I don’t know if I’m okay with it, or not. If I could have changed that ending, maybe I would have.
Funeral : Book with the best or worst epilogue
THERE. With no hesitation, I can say Ashes to Ashes has the WORST epilogue. I really enjoyed that series…up to this epilogue. WHY did you have to do that. I’m still disappointed, and just, WHY.
End Credits : Who do you tag?
I’ve seen this book tag around, A LOT, so I’m not going to tag anyone to do this. If you haven’t done it yet, though, consider yourself tagged!
