Originally coming from the Breaking The Spine blog, Waiting on Wednesday allows me to talk about a book I just can’t wait to get my hands on !
Don’t forget to tell me about the book you’re eager to read, this week, in comments!
Expected publication : May 3rd 2016
Publisher : Bloomsbury Children’s
A remarkable story of strange beauty and self-discovery from Printz Award winner Nick Lake
Cassie is writing a letter to the boy whose heart she broke. She’s trying to explain why. Why she pushed him away. Why her father got so angry when he saw them together. Why she disappears some nights. Why she won’t let herself remember what happened that long-ago night on the boardwalk. Why she fell apart so completely.
Desperate for his forgiveness, she’s telling the whole story of the summer she nearly lost herself. She’s hoping he’ll understand as well as she now does how love—love for your family, love for that person who makes your heart beat faster, and love for yourself—can save you after all.
A billion thanks to Ashley @ Socially Awkward Bookworm for this wonderful discovery! I know, another contemporary, again?! I know, I promise, I will try and be impatient about some great fantasy novels, too. ANY ADVICE, guys?! In the meantime, Whisper to Me sounds beautiful and kind of heartbreaking, I’m sure. I’m so excited to read it!!
There’s nothing wrong with Contemporaries! They are the perfect quick and emotional rides we need inbetween complex Fantasy novels. I think it definitely looks interesting and the cover is beautiful!
You’re right about this! I actually try to balance between fantasy/dystopia/other complex world books and contemporary. But I have to say lately I’ve been eyeing SO many contemporaries, I think I’m having a contemporary-obsession, ahah :p
Thank you so much for commenting Kat! <3 <3
I am currently very much in the Fantasy area of books, but not exactly intentional hahaha It often depends on the books and how quickly I can get them.
You’re right! I definitely want to read more fantasy this year, though. I feel like I’m missing out on some great series! 🙂
I know the feeling! It always seems like I am super late with those kind of series and everyone has already read it years ahead of me hahaha
The real question here is : WHERE can we get the same kind of super-reading-powers so we can READ all the books and know all about it, like everyone else does, ahah :p
You are absolutely right! How do all the people have the money and the time to read like a book a day? IT’S MAGIC!
It really is magic, there’s no other explanation. I NEED that kind of magic, too. I hope we can find it soon :p
We will definitely continue to work on it!
Yes, definitely! 😀
This is the first that I’ve heard of this one but it sounds pretty good! I adore the cover. I’m hoping to start There Will Be Lies by this author really soon. 🙂
Krystianna @ Downright Dystopian
Well I’m so happy if I made you discover a new book! Ohh, I don’t know about this one, I’ll have to check it out! Thank you so much Krystianna! 😀
Ah, this sounds absolutely lovely. I don’t usually reach out for contemporaries, but this sounds emotional, which is my favorite type of book. Also, the cover is GORGEOUS. T_T
I LOVE emotional books. Even if they make me cry. I hope you’ll read this one! Thank you for your comment!! <3
Tag you’re it! You don’t have to write a post if you don’t want to though XD https://bookishfreaks.wordpress.com/2016/01/15/secret-life-of-a-book-blogger-tag/
Aww thank you for tagging me! <3 I already did this tag not so long ago, though (you can read it right here : http://wp.me/p5pugy-BF) ! Thank you! <3
I didn’t know of it before your article, but it seems like a really great book.
It really does, the story sounds so sweet and heartbreaking at the same time. Thank you so much for your comments! <3
Ahh, I love books that explore love. And I’m really warming up to reading more contemporaries this year. So don’t stop with all the contemporary recommendations. Hehe. 😉
We’ll perfectly complete each other this year, then, since I want to read more fantasy, we should give each other recommendations 😉 I hope you added this one to your TBR ! 😀
I WANT TO READ IT. I liked Nick Lake’s book There Will Be Lies, so naturally I must devour everything he ever types *nods* Although I didn’t know this existed till now??? So yay!!
Thanks for stopping by @ Paper Fury!
