Top Ten Tuesday (10) : Top Ten Inspiring Quotes from Books

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Brokeandbookish. This week’s theme is the Top Ten Inspiring Quotes From Books. This is a theme I love, and it was really hard to pick quotes, since I save a lot of them. I love quotes so, so much, books give me so many inspiration. As always, click on the title of the books for a link to their Goodreads page 🙂

1 • Before I Fall, Lauren Oliver

“ Maybe you can afford to wait. Maybe for you there’s a tomorrow. Maybe for you there’s one thousand tomorrows, or three thousand, or ten, so much time you can bathe in it, roll around it, let it slide like coins through you fingers. So much time you can waste it.
But for some of us there’s only today. And the truth is, you never really know.”

2 • The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Stephen Chbosky

“It’s just that I don’t want to be somebody’s crush. If somebody likes me, I want them to like the real me, not what they think I am. And I don’t want them to carry it around inside. I want them to show me, so I can feel it too.”

3 • Will Grayson, Will Grayson, John Green

“Maybe there’s something you’re afraid to say, or someone you’re afraid to love, or somewhere you’re afraid to go. It’s gonna hurt. It’s gonna hurt because it matters.”

4 • Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour, Morgan Matson

“Tomorrow will be better.”
“But what if it’s not?” I asked.
“Then you say it again tomorrow. Because it might be. You never know, right? At some point, tomorrow will be better.”

5 • Allegiant, Veronica Roth

“There are so many ways to be brave in this world. Sometimes bravery involves laying down your life for something bigger than yourself, or for someone else. Sometimes it involves giving up everything you have ever known, or everyone you have ever loved, for the sake of something greater.
But sometimes it doesn’t.

Sometimes it is nothing more than gritting your teeth through pain, and the work of every day, the slow walk toward a better life.

That is the sort of bravery I must have now.”

6 • The Selection, Kiera Cass

“I hope you find someone you can’t live without.I really do. And I hope you never have to know what it’s like to have to try and live without them.”

7 • The Golden Compass, Philip Pullman

“You cannot change what you are, only what you do.”

8 • Awaken, Katie Kacvinsky

“Some people try to tell you the things you want in life are out of your grasp, while others lift you up on their shoulders and help you reach them. I may not know a lot, but I prefer to fill my life with people who let me climb on top of their shoulders, not people who try to keep me planted on the ground.”

9 • Eleanor & Park, Rainbow Rowell

“Eleanor was right. She never looked nice. She looked like art, and art wasn’t supposed to look nice; it was supposed to make you feel something.”

10 • The Beginning of Everything, Robyn Schneider

“Oscar Wilde once said that to live is the rarest thing in the world, because most people just exist, and that’s all. I don’t know if he’s right, but I do know that I spend a long time existing, and now, I intend to live.”

Which of these quotes would make it on your list ? Did you read any of those books, or are you interested in checking them out ? Let me know in comments!
