Top Ten Tuesday (9) : Ten Characters I Wish I Could Check In With

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Brokeandbookish. This week’s theme is the Top Ten Characters I Wish I Could Check In With. I tried to pick out some of the characters that left a mark in my reader’s life. Click on the title of the books for a link to their Goodreads page 🙂

1 • Eleanor and Park, Rainbow Rowell

This is one of my favorite books, so obviously I’d love to see if, when, how, the two characters meet again. I believe their paths would cross again in the future, and it would be even more heartbreaking than before. So. many. feelings.

2 • The Death Cure, James Dashner

As much as I loved The Maze Runner series, I felt like this last book left us with lots of unanswered questions, and a little hope in this messed-up world. I definitely would like how it turns out, and how Thomas deals with it.

3 • The Retribution Of Mara Dyer, Michelle Hodkin

I could write a whole novel about how much I love this series, and how Mara is a fantastic, strong, fierce, amazing character. I loved the ending of this book, but I would love to see what Mara becomes, a few years later.

4 • The Spectacular Now, Tim Tharp

This book certainly left me a little bit confused, and, after an ending  like this, I need to know what has become of Sutter Keely.

5 • Mockingjay, Suzanne Collins

Okay, let’s be honest: who doesn’t want to check in with Katniss Everdeen? After all that’s happened, and this conclusion that left me kind of, teary, I would love to see how, today, Katniss and Peeta are doing.

6 • Requiem, Lauren Oliver

The Delirium series is also one of my favorite series, and despite the fact that it left us on an open ending. I liked it. But I’m still curious to see what will become of Lena, and her relationships.

7 • Paper Towns, John Green

I would quote every John Green novel in this meme if I could, but let’s be reasonnable ;). I’d love to check in with Quentin, after his long Margo-quest, and way ahead of time, if he has his little life as he imagined it to be.

8 • More than this, Patrick Ness

I am still confused about this book, even though I’ve finished it a few weeks ago. I don’t think it’ll ever stop. I love Seth, and I would really love to see how it turns out, for him. Please, tell me, I need to know.

9 • The Geography of You and Me, Jennifer Smith

This was my first Jennifer Smith’ book, and I absolutely loved it : I feel for the characters, and obviously I would love to check in with them, and pray that their cute and swoony love story is still in their lives, or at least, in their hearts.

10 • If he had been with me, Laura Nowlin

One of my favorites, again, I know. I cared so deeply for the characters of this book, Autumn, and Finn. Despite the fact that this book broke my heart, I would love to see how life turns out now, for those characters.

Which of these books would make it on your list ? Did you read any of them, or are you interested in checking them out? Let me know in comments!

  1. So many good books on your list, there’s quite a few here that’s on my tbr shelf. I think a sequel to Eleanor & Park is one of those books I’m desperate to have. I still need to finish Mockingjay 😮

Aw, glad I’m not alone, I would LOVE to get a sequel to Eleanor &Park, I fell in love with this story! You should finish Mockingjay, to tell me what you think about this ending! 😀

  2. Haven’t read the book but seen the adaptation, and if it’s anywhere near its source material, then yeah Sutter’s story can go in a hundred directions (okay, I’m way over myself here). I’m also interested to check in with our victors, but more so with Peeta. I really, really, hope he recovers from his nightmare. As for Q and the gang, I’d love to check in on them just because. Hey I don’t need reason whatsoever with this one. And Seth! Did he find his way back to Gudmund? ANSWER ME!

I see Eleanor and Park‘s a popular pick and why not? Isn’t Rowell working on a sequel?

    1. You should read the book! I found it better than the movie (but it happens all the time for me, when I see book adaptations…). I’m really intrigued in knowing what becomes of Sutter! 🙂
I hope Peeta recovers, too, the ending of Mockingjay, especially his poor damaged soul, broke my heart.
I would have put all of John Green’s book on here if I could, and no reason needed, indeed 😀
Honestly, as good as More than This was, this ending is torture, I need to know!!
I don’t know if Eleanor & Park is going to have a sequel, I wish ! Absolutely loved this book! 🙂
Thank you so much for stopping by, Shelumiel 😀
