Originally coming from the Breaking The Spine blog, Waiting on Wednesday allows me to talk about a book I just can’t wait to get my hands on. Let’s get started !
Don’t forget to tell me about the book you’re eager to read, this week, in comments!
Expected publication : June 9th 2015
Publisher : Simon Pulse
Before:
Kelsey and David became best friends the summer before freshman year and were inseparable ever after. Until the night a misunderstanding turned Kelsey into the school joke, and everything around her crumbled—including her friendship with David. So when Kelsey’s parents decided to move away, she couldn’t wait to start over and leave the past behind. Except, David wasn’t ready to let her go…
After:
Now it’s senior year and Kelsey has a new group of friends, genuine popularity, and a hot boyfriend. Her life is perfect. That is, until David’s family moves to town and he shakes up everything. Soon old feelings bubble to the surface and threaten to destroy Kelsey’s second chance at happiness. The more time she spends with David, the more she realizes she never truly let him go. And maybe she never wants to.
I found out about this book a while ago on Goodreads, and something really caught my eye right in the synopsis : the before, and the after. The fact that there’s a before, and an after, always intrigues me in a book. What’s the breaking point between the two, how does it change people, relationships? Moreover, Last Year’s Mistake deals with two best friends, inseparable…until everything crumbles. Why? What happens when they meet again? This read certainly seems full of old feelings coming back, towards forgotten friendships, and I absolutely LOVE that. This one looks like a great debut romance. Told in alternative sections, we’ll surely discover two sides of a story I can’t wait to read.
