Good morning, good afternoon, good evening friends! How are you? I hope you had a great week. I couldn’t be happier than it’s now the weekend, if you ask me, ahah. Today is supposed to be a kind of discussion day, however, since time has been a bit running out lately (well if I’m being honest I want to enjoy my people and there’s nothing wrong with this so whatever), I have decided to turn this into a kind of Sunday Post, with my latest reading obsessions and a little shoutout about my #SFATW feature.
I’m taking part again in this lovely special feature created by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer with this. Let’s get started!
? On reading (or just me screaming READ THIS BOOK NOW)
I have been using most of my time commuting everyday to and back from work to read, as much as I can, since otherwise I wouldn’t be reading at all. There’s something about it that makes times go by faster, and make going to work a bit less like a dreaded part of the week, I guess. ANYWAY, I’m not here to rant about my personal life, BUT I’m here to talk BOOKS.
As I’m writing this, I’m reading the last installment in The Lunar Chronicles series, Winter. I’m hoping to have it finished by the time this post gets published, but given my obsession with it, I have NO doubt. And I have to say, if I have heard fantastic things about this series, and how the last installment is the BEST ONE, well… I never expected this. I am obsessed and devouring this book and I CAN’T STOP. If you’re into series that’ll take your breath away, DO READ THAT. Full review coming soon on the blog.
? On sending books, local gifts and love to other book bloggers
I also want to take a moment to do some #shameless promo. For those of you unaware of this, I’m hosting a special feature called Souvenirs From Across The World (#SFATW). In a couple words, this is all about sharing the love with local gifts and books between bloggers all around the world.

I want to apologize if I’m being bothering with this – I hope I am not, well at least not too much. This is a project I hold close to my heart, and want to see succeed, obviously, but before ANYTHING ELSE, I want to bring some joy, some positivity, and bring bloggers together with this. Okay, done with the little speech here, haha.
Subscriptions to participate to this feature are open until next week, November 6th (Midnight, C.E.T). Afterwards, I’ll pair you up with another blogger and you’ll be able to send him or her gifts, books and love and everything! To subscribe, just CLICK HERE.
➡️ If you’re curious about it, you can see what happened last time awesome bloggers decided to participate.
➡️ To know more about this whole feature, I suggest you head over here to read the master post.
➡️ To get some ideas of what kind of gifts you can send, you can read this post over here.
➡️ And, if you have any question, you can just ask me!
We’re always happy to discuss whatever with you, Marie. SFATW is a great thing, and I’m glad to be participating!
Aww thank you so, so much, I hope you’ll have a wonderful time participating <3
AAAAAAAAAAH I NEED WINTER NOOOOW !! And I’m happy reading is making commuting better and faster <3
YES YOU DO!!!! So we can fangirl about it afterwards, you will LOVE IT! <3 <3 Thank you so much my twinnie! <3
I’m so gutted, I still hope to participate in this second round of SFATW but my budget is so limited I don’t want to send a homemade card!! I’ll come back to you in a couple of days if I can make it work 🙂
I can’t wait to hear more about your obsession!!! I’m not a fan of retelling but I heard lots of great things about this series!
I get it, this is why I’m making this a twice-a-year event, and I understand people not being able to participate all the times, don’t worry <3 I'll just be happy if a couple people already participate and have a good time with it aha 🙂
Thank you!! I hope you'll want to give this series a shot, it is SO worth it <3
I’m thinking about doing souveniers this time round, but I probably won’t get organised. Sorry! However, I’m SO GLAD that you’re loving the Lunar Chronicles. Those books are just fabulous, and I’m delighted that you love them 🙂 I hope Winter meets all your expectations and more. I reread Terry Pratchett’s Tiffany Aching books recently and OH MY GOSH THEY ARE AMAZING. Magic, humour, lovely writing, and MG. So much love.
Oh no worries, I completely understand if you can’t, thank you for thinking about it! And maybe next time you’ll be able to, it’ll be next summer 🙂
I finished reading Winter and i am still obsessing about it, it is SO good. I want to read Stars Above now, did you read it? 🙂
Ohhh, that seems like an awesome recommendation, I need to check out these books! Thank you! <3
I still haven’t read TLC yet! I don’t know if I would like them or not, but everyone seems to. I’m actually not really a fan of retellings (I know, controversial!), and I’m starting to go off YA sf/f, so do you think I would like them? Everyone is raving about them, so I want to join in!
Denise | The Bibliolater
Ohh well I understand, retellings aren’t everyone’s strong suit. However, if I found some similarities with the original tales -Cinderella for Cinder, for instance-, the story takes SO many liberties, I wouldn’t even classify it as a retelling too much. It’s more of a very original story, with some hints here and there that reminds you of an original tale you’ve heard about before 🙂 I hope you’ll want to join in, I think that, because of this, even if you’re not such a fan of retellings, you could enjoy them 🙂 I hope this helps! And thank you! <3
I love the idea of SFATW! That is a cool thing for bloggers to participate in. I have to chew it over since my finances are in such flux right now. The last book that made me feel all the things was Fractured. I love books like that. I felt the same way about The Lunar Chronicles.
Thank you so, so much Karen, I am so happy you like this idea 🙂 I understand, and if you can’t make it this time, I hope you’ll be able to the next round 🙂
Ohhh, well I need to check out that book, thank you for the recommendation! 🙂
And this post totally reminded me that I need to sign up for SFATW. I really need a diary or notebook on hand so I don’t forget things like this. Either way I will definitely sign up tonight so I don’t forget again by tomorrow. 😀
Also YAY, you’ve started Winter! I am so so glad you’re enjoying it right now. It is definitely the best book of the series right? I can’t wait to see your full review for it Marie. I hope it will be full of fangirling for the series! 😀
Ohh thank you Beth, I’m thrilled you’re excited to participate again to this 🙂 Thank you for all of your support! <3
Winter IS THE BEST of everything and I am still not over this wonderfulness. I loved it so, so much, and I'm going to fangirl A LOT whenever I get around to writing that review, ahah 🙂
That’s all right, and yeah I had so much fun the first time around I couldn’t resist joining in again. <3
It was definitely one of my favourite books of last year when I read it, and even now it's a favourite of mine. Ahh, I can't wait to see your review now! 😀
I’m going to try and write it for this Friday, if I can manage to write a decent review without fangirling too much hahaha.
I’ll keep an eye out for it because even if it’s all fangirling I need to know in more detail what you thought of it! 😀
Haha well you’ll know for sure, I hope I’ll get around to writing it soon 🙂
I really need to continue on with The Lunar Chronicles series. I read the first installment, Cinder, and absolutely loved it! I am not sure why I haven’t picked up the next book – probably because I’m broke, hahah.
I’ve been very busy with school lately and didn’t get much reading done during those past weeks. I’ve already completed my Goodreads challenge, but I still want to read ten more books by the end of the year. I believe I can do it – if school allows me, of course!
I’m currently brainstorming about the next post on SFATW. I love this feature and I really appreciate the possibility of sharing more about my country. However, the next topic is a bit tricky. I hardly ever read books by Brazilian authors, but I’m sure it will be interesting to research more about it.
Hope you have a great week, Marie!
Oh I get the feeling, there are so many series I need to keep on reading, but…money, ahah, I guess it’s hard to get them all at the same time. I never do. I can’t wait for you to read all the books, they just get better and better! 🙂
Best of luck for school and the school work, I’m sure you can do this! <3 <3
Oh thank you so, so much! I am really glad you are enjoying this feature. It is sometimes a bit tricky, I agree, and I'm still brainstorming ideas as well for my own post. you could still just highlight one book you enjoy, if you can't find lots of different books, it's your feature, too 🙂 Thank you, so, much <3 Have a wonderful week! <3
I loved the Lunar Chronicles! And I devoured Winter as well. This is a stellar, magical series!!

IT IS, right?? I am SO happy you agree, I love this series so, so much <3 <3 Thank you for stopping by!
This month I discovered two favourites and it was SO AMAZING. I read Empire of Storms (have been meaning to ask you, have you read Throne of Glass?) and Falling into Place and I’ve loved them so much! I’m so so glad to see you enjoying Winter because LOVEEEE ANOTHER ONE OF MY FAVOURITES! I can’t participate in this SFATW but hopefully I can the next! Hope it all goes well! 🙂 <3
Ohhh, I’m glad to hear that! I think Falling into Place is on my TBR (if it’s not, then I need to add it, because I heard wonderful things about it, and you’re convincing me that I need to read it, NOW). I haven’t read TOG, and I don’t know if I ever will, all the hype kind of turns me off a bit :/
Thank you so, so much for all your support my forever crazy <3
AHHH YES you need to read it! Its so heartbreaking and beautiful and I love it so much! I would love to hear your thoughts on it all! Oh I see! Hype tends to do that for me as well – if you ever DO decide to read it, I’m ready to talk ANYTIME! Always my forever crazy! <3
Heartbreaking? Beautiful? Yes that’s definitely a book for me <3
OMG WINTER *screams* The feelsx1000!!! Did you finish it??? Good luck with SFATW!! I wish I had the time to read when commuting but I walk and usually I have to jog because I’m late 🙂
I DID, and … that book was SO GOOD I am still not over it DAYS later. Seriously, I loved this so, so, SO much! <3 Did you read Stars Above? 🙂
Thank you so much Shar! <3
Yes, and the last story=flailing!!!! <3 <3 <3
I don’t think I’ll ever be over how PERFECT it was <3
The Lunar Chronicles is getting such rave reviews all around me! I’m a little hesitant to read sci-fi, but we’ll see.
The last series to get me screaming??? Honestly, it was either WR Gingell’s Shards of a Broken Sword series or A Song of Ice and Fire. I can’t remember, LOL.
I hope you’ll want to read it sometimes, and you’ll enjoy it! It’s such a wonderful series, really, I can’t praise it enough -and I guess everyone else is already doing that so, so much haha 🙂 Thank you! <3
Ah, I wish I could read while travelling as well! Then my book progress wouldn’t be so darn slow like it is now! 😀 Yay for audiobooks, though. And YES!! Only 6 days before the new SFATW theme starts! I’m really looking forward to it! 😀 And to sending the actual souvenirs as well eventually! Can’t wait to read your review on Winter btw 😉
Ohh, well I guess with audiobooks you can get a lot of reading as well, no, 🙂
Thank you so, so much for your enthusiasm about it, this makes me so, so happy! <3 <3
I just love this feature so much! <3
Awwthis makes me so happy, thank you!! <3
You’re welcome!!
I want to read that series, but right now I’m doing the Anita Blake series, the Left Behind series, and the Mortal Doctrine series.
I hope you’ll get around to reading it soon, it’s such a good series! 🙂
Commuting is tough- but it’s great for reading 🙂 And you’re not bothering us- I so wish I could participate again- but don’t have the time this month- I am working on a post though!! (taking me ages to get to- like everything else!!)
I completely understand, and I hope you’ll be able to participate another time 🙂 I’m already so glad you did it once and enjoyed it, thanks again! <3 Haha I get it, I'm trying to work on my blog posts as well, it takes a long time but I hope it's worth it 🙂
Absolutely!! haha absolutely!! I’m sure it will be!! 🙂
I really really REALLLYYY want to read The Lunar Chronicles. I keep hearing such amazing things about it!! Recently, I finished the first book in the Out From Egypt a couple of days ago and O.M.G. was it amazing. It was beautiful. It was biblical fiction, so probably not everybody’s cup of tea, but I loved every second of it.
Ohh I hope you’ll get around to reading it soon, it’s SO GREAT. Oh, well I’m not sure how I feel about biblical fiction, but I’ll look it up for sure, to see if I might like it! Thank you for sharing this! <3
No problem!
I am lucky to have a work commute of 5 minutes, at least for now!
It’s good to see you’re making the best out of your long commute. Keep reading and being productive! You’ll finish the Luna Chronicles series in no time. Will you be doing a series review as well?
Oh wow 5 minutes, that’s so great, that’s my dream haha. I spend two hours per day commuting to go to work, if I’m lucky, it’s long, but I guess at least I can read a bit 🙂 Thank you so much! <3
I did a review for Winter, and I already had reviews for all of the other books on my blog, so I don't think I'll do one review of the whole series. Here is my latest review if you're interested : https://drizzleandhurricanebooks.com/2016/11/04/review-winter-marissa-meyer/ 🙂
