Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Brokeandbookish. This week’s theme is Top Ten Books I’d love to see as movies/tv shows. Honestly, I don’t really like when books are turning into movies, because I’m always scared to be disappointed… but well, some do turn out great, so here’s some I think could be amazing! As always, click on the title of the books for a link to their Goodreads page 🙂

1 • Panic, Lauren Oliver
I’m not sure if I see this one as a movie, or a tv show…maybe a tv show could be amazing, filled with drama and actions, and lots of consequences…
2 • The Selection, Kiera Cass
Something is happening with the Selection, right?!! I mean, how awesome would a movie be? I think that a tv show would be a better fit for this series, but I’d love both!
3 • The Program, Suzanne Young
This book is kind of shaped in my mind, and I’m really thinking this could make an amazing dystopia movie. Kind of chilling, but really great!
4 • Uglies, Scott Westerfeld
I read this book when it came out, so like, years ago. And I’ve always hoped for a movie about this. ?Never been done, but, with the world Scott shaped in those pages, if done right, it would be a masterpiece.
5 • We were liars, E. Lockhart
Wait, a MOVIE is happening NO?! I was blown away by this story, well, I was shocked and it took me a while to get over it. This story would be great on screen, or even as a tv show, with this little island setting…I can see it, I can write it, haha!

6 • The Dolls, Kiki Sullivan
This book would make an amazing tv show, more than a movie. With the world, the setting of this southern town, great scenarios and characters…I would love it!
7 • Anna and the French Kiss, Stephanie Perkins
Well, I need a movie about Anna and The French Kiss. A cheesy romantic comedy. This book is totally made for this, and I would be first in line to buy a ticket.

8 • Unremembered, Jessica Brody
Okay maybe it doesn’t count because it’s gonna be a movie and I can’t WAIT! I loved this story from the start, its originality and intriguing characters. I hope the movie will be perfect!

9 • The disreputable history of Frankie Landau-Banks, E. Lockhart
Okay, for this one, I’m seeing more of a tv show, with Frankie as the main character, and lots of stories happening in this school. With great, inventive scenarios, just like Frankie’s mind, it would be amazing!

10 • Famous in love, Rebecca Serle
A tv show, about a tv show?! Yes, please! I would love to see on screen, full episodes about those characters and their lives on set, and off set.
Did you read any of these books? Would you see them as tv shows? Cast ideas, settings, share everything!
Which books would you add to this list? Let me know in comments!
This is mainly a list of books I haven’t read but want to. Still a great list though 🙂
Aw, thank you Alicia! I hope you read those books soon, they’re all great! 😀
I agree that The Selection would make a great TV show. I could see it being like Gossip Girl but with awesome ballgowns!
But it looks like a movie might be what we are going to get instead. Kiera Cass made an announcement on her site in April that the movie rights have just been bought by Warner Bros! Time will tell if it actually comes to fruition.
That’s exactly how I see it, too! How great would this TV show be!
Yes, I saw that earlier, I hope it will, mostly because I’m curious about how it will turn out, hopefully, very good! Let’s keep our fingers crossed! 😀
I would love to see We Were Liars as a movie! And Anna would be an awesome tv series!
Missie @ A Flurry of Ponderings
I heard it’s maybe going to be a movie, still has to be confirmed, though, I think. It would be so amazing! 🙂
Thank you for stopping by, Missie! 😀
Panic and The Selection would be great as a movie or TV show!! <3 I haven't read all the books on this list, but it's a great list all the same! 🙂
I perfectly see Panic as a movie, or a tv show, but I feel like The Selection would turn out so much better as a TV show! 🙂
Thank you Analee ! 😀
Yeah, Panic would be great! The Selection, I feel, would be okay as both a movie or TV show, as long as the casting is good. And the acting. 🙂 I really like the cover model for America though, and I don’t think producers and people will be able to compete with that, to be honest. Audrey Hollister is just so perfect for America. <3 I would love to see The Selection come to life!
Aw you’re absolutely right, Audrey Hollister looks great! I can’t wait to see The Selection coming to life, <3
I know right? She’s perfect. It would be amazing to see The Selection become a movie or TV show! At least one of the two! 😀
Yes it really really would !! 😀
I had Uglies on my list this week too. If done right, it could be incredible. I feel like Panic might actually be better on screen than I found the book to be, but that might just be me.
My TTT: https://jjbookblog.wordpress.com/2015/06/02/top-ten-tuesday-7/
I feel the same way! I’m so scared that if they ever make a Uglies movie, they will completely wreck it, haha. But I think, if done right, this would be such an amazing, one of a kind movie, as the book is! 🙂
Thank you so much for stopping by, I’ll check out your TTT too! 😀
I suppose it’s like that with any book you like though, you want to see it as a movie but you’re scared they’ll ruin it! Uglies would definitely be a great and very unique movie if it was done well.
Yes you’re right! 🙂
I second your motion for Uglies to be in motion picture! I read it years ago when it was first published as well and wasn’t much of a fan or hater, but I did have thoughts of how it would be a fantastic film! And I haven’t read The Selection yet but that seems to be a popular choice this week.
Aw I’m so happy you think the same way! The world is so unique, I think, it has to be done right, but could be really good. If I can ask, and, if you remember, are there things that particularily bothered you in Uglies? Since you don’t seem to have loved, or hated it 🙂
Oh no, prepare for a long answer! 😉 (I’m sorry in advance!)
I have to admit it has been so long since I’ve read Uglies, but I do remember and have to agree with you that this is such a unique world and concept.
I think Uglies will always have a special place for me just because it was one of my first ya series I ever read. And, for sure, it was the first dystopian book I picked up as a kid.
But I also think the reason why I didn’t love it was precisely the fact the world was so bizarre. And the fact it’s a dystopian-esque series. Even to this day, I’m still not really a fan of ya dystopian. I read THG trilogy (actually, I think I DNF Mockingjay because I hated it), Cinder (which I wasn’t a fan), and Life As We Knew It (absolute despised it). But it still doesn’t stop me from wanting to try the genre. I literally have an entire shelf dedicated to dystopian books, which has some Veronica Roth, Kathy Reichs, (more) Marisaa Meyer, Pittacus Lore, James Dashner, and Orson Scott Card. And there’s other authors that write dystopian books I want to try like Marie Lu.
Oh my, I feel like I may have just confused you more since this reply may make me sound like I do have a love/hate relationship with dystopian reads (and Uglies) but really I think that’s the reason why I can’t say I love or hate Uglies. So yeah, the dystopian elements limits me from loving it because I tend to hate the genre by default but the fact that it’s a nostalgic read keeps me from hating it.
Please don’t apologize, I love long answers!! 😀 I totally understand your point of view, and sometimes, even if you like the genre, there are some books that you don’t find that great, despite what others might think! You didn’t confuse me, at all, actually it’s great to read your opinion about it, Summer! 😀 And you quoted some dystopian authors I didn’t try (yet), but it gives me ideas, thank you! 😀
Aww, I feel so bad that that ended up so long! Sorry, Marie!! (By the way, I think you’ve inspired me to write a blog post in the future, maybe after I’ve read more dystopian books though so that I can make a stronger stance on the subject.)
Aw, please don’t feel bad, as I said, I love long answers! <3 Aw I'm so glad, I would love to read that blog post, let me know when you decide to write it!
Aww, I’m glad that you were able to discover some new authors. 🙂 And thanks for understanding! <3 I'll definitely keep you posted if I ever do decide to do that post. ^.^
I can’t wait! 🙂
I have to get around to reading ‘Panic’. I love Lauren Oliver’s other two stand alone books, I’m hoping Panic is just as good!
Aw you definitely should, I loved it! 🙂 Which one of her books is your favorite for now? 🙂
I’ve been meaning to read a lot of these for a while. I’ll definitely have to check them out now if they are this good!
The Uglies Series is on my list too.
Joana @ The Boundless Book List
They really are, I’m really happy you want to read them! I hope you’ll enjoy!
Thank you for stopping by Joana! 🙂
From your list, I’ve only read We Were Liars and I agree! Similar story that would make a mind blowing film is Vanishing Girls. Have you read that one? Also, the Percy Jackson books as TV series. I WANT THAT.
I did read it, actually I reviewed it a week ago, I think, and yes, it would really make a mind blowing film, even if I know the end, I would be captivated all thorough the story, I think! Aw, I didn’t read the Percy Jackson books (that’s a shame, I know), but from knowing a little bit what it’s about, yes, I think it would be pretty great to see that on screen!
Thank you so much for stopping by, always great to have your opinion! 😀
I’d like to see The Uglies as a movie. I didn’t enjoy the book as much as I had hoped, but I think I’d like it better as a movie for some reason.
Cayt @ Vicarious Caytastrophe
If I can ask, (because I’m very curious), Why didn’t you enjoy the book, what bothered you in the story? 🙂 I think it would make an amazing movie, yay, with this crazy world! 😀
Thanks so much for stopping by!
