Hello friends, happy Wednesday! I hope your week’s off to a great start. I kind of wish I were on weekend already again, haha, but well. I’m coming back today with another bookish tag, and for once I tried to plan it well – at least, before the season ends….
It’s the Bookish Mid-Autumn Festival Tag, and I am answering these little questions thanks to one of my closest blogging friends, Kat. Thank you so much! Though I’m not sure how much I should thank you, I had a bit of a hard time finding answers to that one haha, but it was a lot of fun, as always!
1. REUNION OF FAMILY: Name a Book with Family Goals
I kind of want to steal Kat’s answer here and go with The Garretts, from My Life Next Door, because they are such an incredible family, I love them so much. I could also think about Simon’s family -it’s been a while since I talked about that book, wow. I mean, they all watch reality shows together and it’s just … quite awesome.
2. FULL MOON: Name a Book with a Werewolf (this festival has nothing to do with werewolves; the only common things is the full moon).
How come the only book I can think about right now is Twilight ? I guess I haven’t read many books with werewolfs besides that one, and it was years ago.
3. MOONCAKES: Name a Kind of Food in a Book that you Wish was Real.
The only book with food that I can think about right now is The Wrath and The Dawn, and that’s because all of the descriptions of food there made me me SO hungry. Also, it was a fantastic book. And I still can’t believe I didn’t get the sequel. What am I waiting for? I’m asking myself this very same question. My bank account isn’t, though, it’s just giving me a dark “don’t-you-dare” look. Erm.
4. RABBIT: Name your Favorite Creature from a Book.
Only because I recently read it in one of my twinnie’s posts, I am thinking about Dobby right now. But it is breaking my heart in a million pieces to think about him. WHY.
5. CHANGE: A Character that Makes a Significant Change to the Plot Since he/she did Something too Many Times.
I thought about this for like a good twenty minutes before actually coming up with the idea of the book I JUST finished reading. Good job, Marie. I think one of the characters in this really is evil, and did some bad stuff WAY too many times, but without him it wouldn’t be the same. I’ll shut up because spoilers.
6. LANTERNS: Name a Toy or Game in a Book that you Liked to Read About.
There was this book I read a while ago, it was called, The Forbidden Game, and even if I don’t remember a lot about it, I still remember loving it. That game they play, the whole fantasy side to it, I loved it to bits. Also, for some reason I feel the need to talk about Jumanji?! WHO ELSE loves it? I’m getttig kind of out of the subject here. Sorry.
7. AUTUMN: Name a Book which you Feel is the Best to Read in Autumn.
Hm, how about ANY single cute contemporary book while you’re hiding behind a huge blanket on the couch with a warm cup of tea? I could go with Sarah Dessen’s book, or something by Jennifer E. Smith for that.
8. FESTIVAL: Name your Favorite Festival in a Book
I can’t actually remember reading about a festival in a book? Maybe I’m wrong, and my memory isn’t the best with all the books I read ahah.
If you haven’t done this tag yet… FEEL FREE TO, I’d love to read your answers!
Ha, I remember Jumanji from when I was alot younger!π But a great film.

It’s about a girl who basically sacrifices everything for her family until she meets a guy who helps her to stand up for herself. Something between romance and coming of age. Read only 50 pages so far but it’s really interesting so far π

Great picks for this tag Marie. Oh I love family dynamics, especially in YA contemporary books, and the Garretts were a favourite of mine just because they were so loud and chaotic but really loving as well. β€
I haven't read The Forbidden Game; it was on my to-read list when I was younger because I loved L.J. Smith's books but then she never released the last book in the Night World series and that really pissed me off because I've been waiting nearly seventeen years for it now! Sorry, now I'm getting a little off topic, but this is a great tag, and perfect for the fact that it's now autumn and we're getting some colder weather in Europe as well! π

Thank you so, so much Beth! β€ Ohh really? I can't believe this happened. I haven't read any other books by L.J Smith other than that one, and I had no idea this happened. Do you know why, at least? π¦

That’s all right! β€ And not a clue, that's part of what makes it so annoying. Every so often it seems like there's a rumor it will be published soon but I've given up hope now. There's only so long you can wait for a book and apparently seventeen years is my maximum! π

Oh really? It’s even more annoying when there are rumors, always there to give you hope π¦ Seventeen years is a LOT of time indeed ahah.

Honestly even now seeing rumours I know better to believe them. Yeah I think it was due to be released back in 1999, and I’m still waiting for it in 2016 going into 2017!

Wow, yeah, it’s insane. It’s way too long.

I think you did REALLY well! I know that it’s not easy to find answers, because I could barely manage it either. But a little off topic, did you know that they are making a Jumanji sequel?

A SEQUEL? Really? WHEN? I had NO idea this was happening!

Next year. It’s real, I just don’t know what it’s about really. It’s sort of a legacy to Robin Williams I’ve heard. I just don’t know how I feel about the cast.

Ohh, well… I guess we’ll have to see how it is. I’m a bit skeptical about it all, now, as well…

It might be fun, but I doubt it will be near the original movie. That one was just beyond amazing! It’s still one of my favourite movies as of today.

I agree. when they make a movie a while after the first was released, it often ends up disappointing π¦

I absolutely love fall, so I consequently love all fall-related tags π (I just did a similar one as well)
Yes, Simon’s family is so amazing! And I have My Life Next Door lying on my shelf so I hope to get to that one soon and discover a new amazing family π I also really liked the family in P.S. I Like You, they were big and chaotic but also really wonderful!
The food in Wrath and the Dawn sounded so good, I get hungry just thinking about it!
I usually tend to lean towards fantasy in the fall, but it also happens that my mood swings tell me read ALL the contemporary, so I guess it depends on that π

Yay for autumn themed, well, everything!! π Why did you have to remind me of Dobby again?! *cries and looks at his funko pop* Just like Drew, I watched Jumanji when I was a lot younger as well. Countless times actually because it’s awesome :D. About the warm blanket read: any book will do at the moment :3 *lights scented candle*

I do! I’d never buy one myself because they are way too expensive for what they are, but! I’m glad I’ve got Dobby <3. Haha, I'm just thinking it would make a great Halloween hors d'oeuvre for my husband because he's such a scaredy pants when it comes to grown up horror movies ;).

Isn’t there a werewolf in Harry Potter too? Well.. I haven’t read it (only watched it), but that would probably be a great alternative to Twilight! π AND YES TO JUMANJI! Classic! Deserves a re-watch for.. you know.. autumn? π π Also skeptical about the sequel to come! But.. who knows! π

What a cute tag. π
For the favorite creature category, I immediately thought about Harry Potter, too! lol. And yes, Dobby is my favorite. π
I’m also drawing a blank for other werewolf books. Though, one was recently recommended to me and I added it to my TBR. I like the idea of werewolves and I like horror/speculative fiction, so I need to read more of these kinds of books!

I love your answers, Marie! 100% with you on the food descriptions in The Wrath and the Dawn… every time Shazi eats down to eat a meal or a snack (which is surprisingly often), I’m just “omg please where can I get the same things???”. And the Garretts are just a wonderful bunch. π

You’re in luck because all of the food in The Wrath and the Dawn is real :D! Get yourself to a Middle Eastern restaurant. We have many authentic ones in Melbourne so I was luckily able to satisfy my craving. A festival I would love to attend is the Starfall in the Night Court/ACOMAF hehe.

I think I used to adore the Forbidden Game as well. Although I haven’t read any of her books in ages, she used to be one of my favourite authors! Now that I’ve said that, I really want to go back and read a few of her books . . . Great choices btw!
