Hello friends, happy Sunday! I hope you’re having a wonderful time, that school, work or holidays are treating you well. It’s funny, when I started drafting this blog post, I was thinking about a totally different idea, and then, it came and gave birth to this endless rambling. I hope you’re not sick of it – and of me, yet, ahah. I started book blogging about a year and a half ago. There was a life before, and a life, after. FOR REAL. But, let’s be honest, I’ve always been a bookworm, otherwise I wouldn’t be here. But…what does that REALLY mean?
Does it mean we like books, read those occasionally, or does this mean we DEVOUR book for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and once as a midnight snack as well? I have to admit, before I started book blogging, I thought of myself as a lover of books, obviously – I was the one reading in class when I was done with everything, and I’ve always been qualified as the girl with a book in her bag, in my early teens. But since I really got into book blogging, all the wonderful recommendations, the books EVERYWHERE, well they have been taking much, much more of my time and THOUGHTS, really. Because now, I’m not just the bookworm with a book in her bag. I’m the bookworm her mom screams at (with a smile, HELLO MOM it’s because you read A LOT that I do, too) when there’s yet ANOTHER bookish package coming at home. I’m the bookworm that just CAN’T shut her brains and CAN’T stop bribing her sister to buy new books. I mean, just ONE. It’s nothing really, right? I’m the bookworm that went from reading 30 books a year to … well, right now I’ve read more than 30 books and just half of the year went by. I’m the bookworm with more tears, more screams, more laughs on my face because there are just SO MANY MORE BOOKS in my life.
It’s also true that, while I’ve learned how much I could care and get into and talk endlessly about books, I have learned that being a bookworm is HARD. It comes with a lot of struggles normal people wouldn’t imagine, and you can just see about a billion of them if you ever went through the #bookwormproblems on twitter. I mean, the endless pile of books you WANT, and have the NEED to go through, while there only are so many hours in the day. The endless pining over fictional characters, the day-dreaming about stories, the glassy-eye and do-not-talk-to-me face while you’re reading on your lunch break at work, just while you’re reading, period. The pressure you can feel about writing a review, sharing your thoughts to the online community and, to the world, because that sometimes comes with stupid people not being able to respect each other’s’ opinions. The urge to go through another book just to end your Goodreads challenge, to end this story to start another one, to feel better because some others can get through 100 books in six months and you’re still only on your 21st book because well, life happened.
Being a bookworm is hard, guys. Being a bookworm AND discovering the book blogging world is the END of everything. Or most likely, of your social life, being consumed by books, book recommendations and friends from ALL around the world there to talk about books while you can’t sleep at 2 in the morning. Well, I mean, if this is the end, then I’m perfectly okay living like that for the rest of my life.

AWW THE BIG HERO SIX GIF KILLED ME <3 Baymax is just so cute omg :O
But haha, I totally agree – bookworms just have a lot of problems okay?? 😛 But it's definitely worth it a lot of the time, especially when you have such a supportive community such as this one! 🙂
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
HE IS RIGHT?! I love him WAY too much ahah I want to hug him <3
Definitely agree with you. If there are struggles, it's all worth it and it's always SO great to share with incredible bookworms just like you <3

Awesome Article!!!
Lately, I was having the same thoughts, passing through my mind, which you have questioned about. It has been just over a month of my book blogging and the response is so mindblowing. On one side, I feel so great and motivated by the likes and positive comments. On the other side, I am now having lots of books to review, more than I ever thought of… which makes me feel pressurized sometimes.
Before blogging, I used to read books for my own pleasure and at my own sweet time. After beginning the blog, my reading pleasure is still intact but I am struggling with time (eeks!) Hope to get it managed soon 😉
So, Yes.. I am a bookworm who feels a change within after starting the blog… but along with it, this is also true that I would totally choose this way of living my life over any other!
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
Aw thank you so, so much, and thank you for your thoughtful comment! <3 I used to have, and still do at times, the same feeling. It's half overwhelming in a great, awesome way, and half in a very bad way, because I want to read all the books, and worse, I feel like I HAVE to, at times. But we should all remember we love books, that's why we are bookworms after all, and what should remain of us 😀

Truly said 🙂

Happy Sunday, Marie! I love this idea for a post. I’m a proud bookworm! ?
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
Happy Sunday Jillian! Thank you so, so much, I am so happy you liked it! <3 And YES let's be PROUD bookworms!
daleydowning says
Oh, yes – to all the pining and daydreams and “don’t you dare disturb me, I’m just about to find out who the villian is!”
This is part of why I’m actually not officially turning my blog into a “proper book blog” – I want reading to stay fun!
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
Thank you so, so much! Oh really? Well I can understand, reading can become a bit overwhelming when you’re a book blogger, however the experience, discoveries and everything is just fantastic and unique as well! 🙂
daleydowning says
Yeah, when I first started reading book blogs – one, I didn’t realize there was such a thing – and two, I could just see how it would become draining and zap all the energy out of me reading for pleasure. The giveaways, the ARCs, the on-deadline reviews… I don’t like to be under pressure (and I have a pretty low threshold for pressure).
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
Oh well I understand. Pressure comes from every way, when you’re a book blogger, and I guess sometimes days are harder than others, for sure. I can see why you wouldn’t want to get into this ahah 🙂
hiraethforthepages says
I’m LOVING this post! Because YES, bookworms have it hard XD And I agree, especially since I’ve started book-blogging! I’ve really overused the line: ‘added to my TBR’ but I can’t help it! Too many great books and too many WONDERFUL reviews that convince me just one more book won’t be too bad 🙂
I think I’ve definitely changed since book blogging. Much to the dismay of my social life, blogging has caused me to READ SO MUCH MORE! I mean, I started at the very end of last year and I’ve read almost double of last year! I used to think 50 was a pretty big TBR and that one day my TBR would be conquered XD
I used to always enjoy reading and the recent years have just made it accumulate to so much love! Every year I think I’ve reached the most love to read and then the love boosts itself. Blogging has DEFINITELY boosted that love (and made it wholly uncontrollable!)
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
Ahhh thank you so, SO MUCH my forever crazy, I am SO happy you liked this post, and can relate <3
Ugh yes, my poor social life, and MY BRAIN HAS BEEN TAKEN OVER by blogging, for real, hahha. I'm going crazy at times, but I love it so, so much. I think I've never been so passionate about something before, and I just, I hope people can feel it ahah how crazy I am? haha.
Blogging really boosted my love for books as well, and I LOVE IT MORE THAN WORDS now. <3 <3 <3
hiraethforthepages says
I LOVE all your posts, HOW IS EVERYTHING PERFECTION? Haha blogging has both saved us and killed us XD I think it has definitely driven me crazy but in a good why because FOREVER CRAZY! I agree! Blogging has made me feel so much deeper and passionate toward it all and I LOVE it! I definitely feel your crazy and I’m EMBRACING it because you are just so fantastic! I AGREE! <3 <3
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
THIS, exactly it. Blogging has driven me crazy, but in a good way. If that makes sense. I’m crazy with you then so that’s all okay haha <3 <3 <3
Jamie Wu says
Bookworm is a way of life 😀
I do feel pressure to read a lot of books. Most of it is self inflicted though. There’s just too many books I want to read and too little to read them. Authors, please, slowdown a little? Haha.
I find myself reading a whole lot more than I used to since I started blogging about books. (Still not as many as a lot of book bloggers. I need to learn their secrets.) And my TBR has swollen tenfold since I started. I’m also buying a lot more books than before. I’ll be needing a new shelf soon. RIP wallet.
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
It really is, and it’s a way of life I LOVE 😀
Oh you’re so right, I think 80% of the pressure actually comes from myself, I want to read ALL the books and also, have 10 more hours each day to do so, haha. I had to get a new shelf already, and I’m going to need a second one soon…it’s getting out of control ahah.
Jamie Wu says
I could definitely use 10 more hours each day. Or 100 more would be even better 😀
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
Haha yes, or 1000 more would be perfect. 😛
Nerdybirdy @ Daydreaming Books says
This is so true! I freaking love this post! But normal people do not understand… you know! But I really don’t care about that because being a bookworm rocks! 😀
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
awww thank you so, so much!! I am so happy you liked this and could relate. I feel like people think I’m crazy when I’m obsessing about books, but… I love books too much ahah 😛
Temecka @ Library of Tomes says
I understand so much!!
Since I became a book blogger, I have pushed myself so much more than I had in the past! I want to read all the books and be able to talk to people about their favorite books with having to worry about spoilers. I want to devour books and I have actually planned vacations around what bookstores I can visit because there are none where I live.
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
I’m glad you feel the same way I do! 🙂 I feel so pressured to read books at times, but I do not want to be taken away the pleasure of reading just because everyone is reading some book, and I am not. And bookstores, oh I want to visit them allllll so badly! <3 Thank you so much for stopping by <3
masonlou says
I definitely read more books since blogging and my TBR is astronomical it’s unreal. But I have read some really amazing books thanks to blogging. Usually I would pick something from the library and it would be rubbish
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
Oh yes, me too, I discovered so many great books, and I love it 🙂 Thank you so, so much! <3
Lilyn G. (Sci-Fi & Scary) says
I do read a bit more since I started book blogging, but not much, honestly. I’ve always been an insane reader. I’m definitely getting more recommendations, but I’m actually whittling my TBR list down as time goes on, so that’s not much of a problem. (I’m super picky about what goes on my list.)
Unless I hated the book, I like writing the reviews. I don’t care much about what other people think when they read them (ie: not concerned with upsetting people because I didn’t like a book that they did.) because I’ve made it clear from the birth of the site that it’s my opinions. And opinions are like pie-holes. Everyone has one. So to me it’s fun to just get my opinion on ‘paper’ and hopefully work in a few puns, because puns make me happy.
To me I’m a bookworm because books are my escape. Hard day? Read a book. Need my mind challenged? Read a book. Need something to entertain the kid with at night? Read a book with the kid. Need something to do when I’m on the treadmill and don’t want to listen to music? Read a book.
Another big part of being a bookworm for me is the bookish discussions – just like this one – I love talking about books in any way shape or form.
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
Well that’s awesome! I have to say, I love writing reviews, but discussions are my favorite posts to write, because sometimes I struggle to find the words to describe a book, or my feelings, and I’m a bit scared of having an unpopular opinion, but you’re right, everyone has their own opinion anyway, so might as well express it 🙂 Books are my escape just as well, it feels so good to be able to immerse ourselves in a whole other universe for a while. Thank you! <3
Summer @ Xingsings says
I fell in love with reading when I was 10 years old (because of the release of the last HP book at the time), and I read a lot since then. However, in high school I did take a hiatus from pleasure reading. I didn’t read much aside from assigned reading. However, when I began my blog, I started to read again (albeit at a slower pace than when I was younger). Anyway, I think I’ll always been a reader and bookworm, but I never feel bad when I don’t read. Anyway, brilliant post, Marie! 🙂
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
Oh yes, assigned reading, those could be great surprises, or just the worst… I had a hard time reading some books in high school as well, and it took away a bit of the pleasure as well :/ It’s so good that you don’t feel bad, I still do at times, and I have to remind myself that I read because I want to, not because I am forced to 🙂
Thank you so, so much Summer! <3
Summer @ Xingsings says
Ah yes, don’t let the feeling that you must read burden you, Marie! 🙂
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
You’re so right <3
amortalreader1 says
Love this Marie, this is exactly what I feel about being a book worm and book blogging. I have definitely changed since starting my blog but I think for the better, it does take time out from going out with friends but for me it’s taken the time away from things I was being peer pressured into doing. I feel like I can say no now, this community is making me stronger in myself by allowing to share my honest thoughts. It’s also really refreshing to be surrounding by people who share a passion for reading and also those who share similar experiences with you, for example with my anxiety. I have met so many people who share my feelings that now I feel less alone when i’m having my worst day.
The constant want o buy books though is so hard, their is not enough time in the day. I want to buy so many but also I have loads on my bookshelf already waiting to be read but even if your drowning in books you need to read, their will always be another one you feel a need to buy.
Ah the struggles!
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
Thank you so, so much for leaving such a thoughtful comment <3 And I agree with you on everything. If bloggîng takes a lot of my time now I'm glad I have found something I love so much and a community that understands me and everything. Bookworms struggles are SO real, but..Well, they are worth it 🙂
Beth (Reading Every Night) says
Great post Marie! 😀 I’ve always loved books, even before I started blogging my parents have complained about me reading too much (and of all the flaws I could have is reading too much really one) but since I started book blogging I think it’s gotten a lot worse; I’m always buying books now, my to-read list has grown massively, and there is always something I’m desperately waiting to read. 🙂
I definitely get what you mean about bookworm problems as well, if I had unlimited money I would probably spend it all on books, and my social life has definitely been taken over by blogging now I’ve started, but I’m not stopping anytime soon. <3
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
I’m so glad you feel the same way, Beth! <3 I've always been a bookworm, but now I am to a whole other level, that's insane ahah. And even if it's taken over a lot of my life, I LOVE it too much to stop <3
Beth (Reading Every Night) says
Oh of course 🙂
I feel like I’ve taken bookworm-ing to a new level since I’ve started blogging. And it’s taken over my life as well but honestly I don’t even care, I don’t regret it! 🙂
I don’t think my life would be the same without reading/blogging! <3
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
Oh yes, my life would be so, so different as well without book blogging. Wouldn’t change it for the world <3
Beth (Reading Every Night) says
I do sometimes wonder what I’d be doing right now if I wasn’t book blogging, can’t say it would be anything as interesting or productive though! 😀
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
Hm I would probably watch more tv shows and…well, read more. I take a lot of the time I could use reading, blogging… but I like blogging just as much, so… 😀
Beth (Reading Every Night) says
Same here actually, and probably spend a lot more time doing nothing on Pinterest of Tumblr. Blogging is definitely more productive! 😀
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
It is 😀
Kat Impossible says
As always, this was a really great post, Marie <3
I definitely started reading more ever since I started the book blog. Now it has become an obligation to review everything and I feel really bad when I don't do it, even though I don't always have something real to say. My mum is actually against me buying more books. She thinks I am crazy. (well, she is not against reading … but I am all out of shelf space). Heck, I even started ordering way too expensive book subscription boxes hahaha
But you know what? I wouldn't want to miss it from my life. It gives everything more purpose and THE STORIES <3 they are everything. They are life itself.
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
Thank you so, so much Kat <3 Oh yes, the stories are LIFE. There are no other words. I love them too much. I feel a bit obligated to review everything though, and it makes me a bit mad at times when I can't find the words, or just don't feel like it. I guess it comes with the job ahah
Kat Impossible says
I definitely hear you! I can get mad frustrated when reviews won’t just magically appear on my page. Sometimes words fail me.
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
Yeah, it’s the same for me. I just don’t know what to say at times, and I end up staring at the blank screen for hours haha.
Kat Impossible says
Totally … it sometimes takes forever to get that initiating idea.
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
I’m especially nervous since I don’t write down my reviews right after finishing the book haha, I’m scared to forget everything but with my half hiatus I don’t have time to get everything down 🙁
Kat Impossible says
I don’t write anything down either, I don’t even make notes. So, that’s why I mostly do reviews on the same day or the next. Since my brain is like Swiss cheese, it would all go down the drain if I waited longer.
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
Haha well I get it. I tend to forget things as well, and well…let’s say here I have read maybe two or three books and haven’t written anything about those. Reviewing those will be…fun. haha
Kat Impossible says
Hahaha maybe you’ll have to find a new style of reviewing for those books hahaha maybe just a bullet point list of likes and dislikes you remember to make it easier?
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
Yes maybe…. I will see when I finally get to it hahaha.
Fadwa (Word Wonders) says
YES TO EVERYTHING TWINNIE !!!! <3 <3 I just couldn't imagine before bookblogging how my life was going to change FOR THE BETTER and I became way waaay more invested in the characters and all haha but I wouldn't change anything about it.
And struggles, God yes ! haha This is SO relatable !!
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
AHH thank you so much twinnie you are too sweet <3 <3 <3 I'm getting so much more invested in characters and book, compared to before I started blogging, as well. And it is SO GOOD. Making me crazy at times, but it's awesome ahah.
Fadwa (Word Wonders) says

Ooh it is hard being a bookworm- I mean there are just all those books that need to be read- what is a girl to do?!?! But I do agree that it’s gotten worse since I started blogging- before I was addicted, now I think I have an actual problem! My mum has to keep telling me to stop buying books already too!
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
I know, right? I don’t know what to do either haha there are just so many books, and I don’t KNOW how to stop either haha.

Amazing post! It really is wonderful even though there are so many bookworm problems as well! But overall I’m super happy and wouldn’t have it any other way.
I’ve always been a bookworm, but just like you say, it did change a bit since I started blogging and reviewing. The good thing is I read A LOT MORE, the bad thing is I still don’t feel like I read enough 🙂 But I don’t pressure myself, I’d rather read less books but enjoy them fully than read more books but be stressed about it. It’s a hobby and a lifestyle, and I intend to be a bookworm for the rest of my life 🙂
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
Aww thank you so, so much Lindsey, so glad you liked it 🙂 I feel the same way. I love reading even more now, but the pressure is more intense as well, and there are SO many books I want to get to quickly, it’s so hard haha. Thank you so much for your comment! <3
mudandstars says
Love this!! I definitely feel the pressures of being a bookworm, even more since I started blogging. I am drowning in a sea of books, and I have no time to read all of them. And I keep adding to the problem by buying more haha. It’s an addiction. Also I am always astounded by the amount of books that some people are able to read – I probably read one book a week, but some people read a book a day… how are they doing this?! Do they have some kind of device which allows them to pause time so they can read books while everyone else is frozen? :O I wish I had these magical reading powers.
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
Aww thank you! <3 Ohh yes I am almost stunned at how many books some people can read, I can barely read one a week and some just read five, HOW, do they have superpowers of some kind?!! Yes, I wish so, too haha.
mudandstars says
Hahaha exactly! I usually read one book a week too, but sometimes it takes me longer than that if I’m reading something huge! But then at least reading slowly we can have more time to take in every line and appreciate it 🙂
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
Yes you’re right! We are taking time to eat every word 😛
Melanie Noell Bernard says
How many books I read per year never used to bother me and it showed because I was lucky if I read 10 books a year. I also had a serious love/hate relationship with reading growing up and it wasn’t until after college that I realized how much I actually enjoyed it. That being said, it has become an obligation to read a certain number of books because of blogging. I want to offer book reviews every week for my readers. However, that requires me to read at least one book every week and that’s rather time-consuming. What’s worse is when I pick up a book that’s 1000 pages long and have a week to read and review it. That’s just too much stress. I think the important to thing to remember is that we read and review for fun. Once it becomes a chore, we no longer enjoy it and no longer get as much out of the books we’re reading. So, just take it lightly. It’s not a job after all. :p
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
You’re so, so right about all of this. It’s so easy to feel pressured to read TONS of books, while we have no reason to, we just need to read and review because we enjoy it and it makes us feel happy, that’s all. 🙂 Thank you so much!! <3
Melanie Noell Bernard says
You’re welcome! Thank you for posing the question! ^.^

Just started blogging and wow, I feel I need to learn a lot. I always have loved reading books and can relate with almost anyone who does so be it fangirling or sharing reviews or sharing opinions. And you’re so right! It seems like every year you need to start reading more books otherwise you’ll lag behind!! Nice to read your blog 🙂
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
First of all, yay and WELCOME! I hope you will have an INCREDIBLE time. Really, it’s so much fun and talking about books with everyone is the best. Thank you so, so much for commenting! 🙂
Michelle says
Haha this sums it up PERFECTLY. That last sentence is gold. I definitely started buying and reading more books since I started blogging. It made it so much more easier to find out which books exist and find which ones I want to read (let’s not even talk about new releases lol)
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
Haha thank you!! <3 Yes let's not even get into the new releases, it makes me insane just seeing all the pretty books hahahah.

I love this post! It’s so true that there’s suddenly so many more things on your plate when you start book blogging. I remember when I wasn’t reading as much a new books would come out, and I’d be like “oh cool, I’ll read that someday” and then I would forget about it. And say that about a new book. My TBR was always precisely 1 book. Now it’s like a million books that just keeps increasing every time a book comes out!
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
Aw thank you so much!! I can barely remember before, actually, because now I have so many books I want to read, I think before I just picked up books on a whim. Now there are SO many good recommendations, I just don’t even know where to start 😀

Oh my god, you’ve completely captured what it means to be a bookworm. Since I started blogging I feel like I read more books that deal with important social issues and have grown as a reader. I’ve also discovered that I really enjoy writing reviews! Thanks for this post, it’s one of my favorite discussion posts that I’ve read so far this year!
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
I feel like I have grown so, so much as a reader as well! I’m so glad you feel the same way! Thank you so, so much, this is the sweetest compliment I could get. You are the best <3

I spot Baymax! Other than the cute gif though, I can totally relate to you. Being a bookworm really consumes your life. From spending money on books, to dedicating your time to post reviews on a blog, it’s a lot to handle. However, I wouldn’t want it any other way! Great post!
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
I’m so glad you could relate to this post, this is everything I was looking for while I was writing it. It’s life-consuming, but I love it! 🙂 Thank you so much Kathy! 🙂
Karen B (@KissinBlueKaren) says
I definitely read more now that I am book blogger. I read a lot, I have always been a big reader. When I was in college I couldn’t read except on school breaks, but I would plan out what to read way in advance.
Last year I read 166 books. So far this year, I had read 94. I am reading way more than the 5 books I read a year while I was in college. I see reading more as a job now, I work for my blog. I feel this need to stay current. Even my kids joke that reading is my second job.
I don’t know what being a book blogger means. For me, it means I read, review, and talk about books (oh, and bitch about blogging). For others it means they read and take beautiful pictures, for others it means to just blog about books a whole lot. I think what people think about what it means to be a book blogger is very subjective.
Great post! I just discovered your blog and really like the way it is set up.
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
WOW. That’s a lot of books, it’s incredible you can read so much! I take blogging as a job as well, but it’s something I love, so it doesn’t feel too much of a burden -well, it depends, really. You’re so right, being a book blogger is different for everyone, and it’s great, this way every blog, and every blogger is different 🙂
Thank you so, so much, that’s so sweet of you! I am so glad you like it! <3
Michelle @ FaerieFits says
BEYOND TRUE! I was that girl who practically had a library set up from making so many recommendations to friends. I ALWAYS had at least one book on me. (And then college happened and the reading stopped and well let’s just pretend those dark times didn’t exist). Then I started blogging and WHAM! All of a sudden not only do I feel like an awful bookworm because let’s be honest I just don’t get to read all that much. But I’m also reading WAY more than I used to.
And HOW I find books is so much different! I used to go to a bookstore or library and just scan until I saw an interesting-looking title. Now I go to the store and scan until I see things that were recommended on blogs. And then I have to down-select because, let’s be honest, I only wish I had that much money. And time.
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
I am so, so happy you could relate to this post. THANK YOU so much for your sweet comment!< 3 I do the same now, just today I went to a bookshop and all I could think about were all the books I've been recommended. And I end up with a pile of 1000 books and I can't choose, haha.
Iridescence says
A really good post! I’ve noticed that I’m actually reading lesser once I started blogging but I also read critically, have so many recs and am able to share my thoughts and creativity. I might read a hundred books less—but book blogging is amazing!
Marie @ drizzleandhurricanebooks says
Thank you so, so much, so glad you liked it! 🙂 I agree, I definitely read books with a critical eye now 🙂 Thank you 🙂
Louise / geniereads says
I agree with what you said about being a bookworm and discovering the blogging world is the end of everything, I swear there are days when I just want to drop out of school and lock myself in my room and read. ? But of course I can’t do that, even if I really really want to. I’m actually in a bit of a reading slump (even though I don’t want to admit it) and I have so little time to read and blog so I’m currently experiencing some struggles with being a bookworm. But reading posts like this makes me realize how wonderful the of a bookworm life is, and it just makes me love reading and blogging a hundred times more. ??

OH I would LOVE to be able to do that as well, just take a day off everything to read haha. Oh no, that’s too bad, I hope you will get back to it eventually. If this can help, I find that reading others’ blogs kind of helps me find inspiration again, or even going through my old blog posts and looking back at old ideas I left in my drafts. As for reading, Goodreads is always a great inspiration to make me want to find new stories again. I hope you’ll get out of your slump soon, I miss you! <3

Great post! I’ve always been THAT GIRL with a book in her bag and only recently discovered the book blogging world! It’s such a lovely universe but is certainly time consuming. It’s nice to know someone else has the same thoughts!

OH yay!! Well, welcome, and you should feel just right at home here, I hope 😀

I always thought of myself as a bookworm. I had the book in my bag and always carrying a book. Once I got into the book community, it just amplified for me. I started having a bigger TBR, more things to do to surround myself with books, and now I want to base a career just on books. The book community really changed me for the better and I’m so glad I’m here now.
