The Ben & Jerry’s Book Tag

Hi bookish friends! How are you? How was your week? Mine was kind of exhausting, I’m so glad it’s finally Friday! This is usually the day where I like to do book tags, awards and other features on the blog. I’m going to keep on going with that little habit of mine, and let’s talk about…ice cream, shall we?

Where I am right now it’s freezing, and it’s a little weird to want to eat some ice cream right now, isn’t it? But who doesn’t love a little Ben & Jerry’s? I certainly do! I have to thank the wonderful Kat @ Life & Other Disasters for tagging me for this great, making-me-want-to-eat-ice-cream tag. Let’s get started!

THE

1. VANILLA CARAMEL FUDGE: PICK A LIGHT, FLUFFY CONTEMPORARY

the statisticalOh, there are so many books I could go with on this one… I really like reading sweet contemporary books, in case you didn’t guess, ahah. I think I will go with the, oh so adorable, The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight, by Jennifer E. Smith. If you’re looking for a light read, with a little bit of romance and family issues, then this is the one for you!

2. MINT CHOCOLATE COOKIE: A NEW RELEASE THAT YOU WISH EVERYBODY WOULD READ

sanctuary bayI had the chance to read an ARC of Sanctuary Bay, by Laura J. Burns, and I absolutely loved it. With a POC main character, and a great cast of secondary characters, and a story that really is not at all as it seems to be, well… I was hooked right from the start. If you love mystery, boarding-school-like-books and thrillers, you should check it out!

3. KARAMEL SUTRA CORE: A LAST BOOK IN A SERIES THAT YOU WERE COMPLETELY SATISFIED WITH

mara dyer 3I know that some people weren’t completely satisfied by The Retribution of Mara Dyer, by Michelle Hodkin, but I was. This is one of my favorite series, and the ending is just a rollercoaster ride you want to get on. If you haven’t read these books yet, well, what are you waiting for?!

4. CHERRY GARCIA: AN ENDING THAT WAS BITTERSWEETeleanor and park

Okay, for that one I could only think about one book : Eleanor & Park, by Rainbow Rowell. I mean, that ending. If you haven’t read it yet, I won’t spoil it for you. It’s just, that ending. It was kind of bittersweet.

5. STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE: A BOOK CONTAINING YOUR OTP OF OTPS

ignite meI rooted for Mara and Noah a LOT in the Mara Dyer series, but since I already talked about it, I’m going to go with another book in which I LOVE the characters and really, really, REALLY wanted to see them together. It’s, drumrolls, Ignite Me, by Tahereh Mafi. I mean, Juliette & Warner. That couple, guys. They give me so many feelings it’s almost unbearable.

6. MILK AND COOKIES: TWO AUTHORS THAT IF THEY COLLABORATED, THEY WOULD GO PERFECTLY TOGETHER

I’ve been thinking about those two authors, and maybe they would go well together. They both write contemporary stories, and they have a way with words that I love. They make me LOVE the characters, too, because they feel oh, so real. I would love to see Morgan Matson & Robin Benway doing something together, I think they would do great!

7. BOSTON CREAM PIE: A BOOK THAT HAD YOU TURNING YOUR PAGES LATE INTO THE NIGHTawaken

I read it a while ago, but I still remember being completely hooked by this story. Awaken,  by Katie Kacwinsky, is such an underrated book that everyone should check out. I love how true it feels to me.

8. CHOCOLATE THERAPY: A BOOK THAT MAKES YOU FEEL BETTER AFTER A LONG DAY OF LIFE

to all the boys i've loved beforeTo make me feel better after a long, exhausting day, I love to get into a sweet, light book that makes me think about other things. Like food, maybe, and cute romance. I would go with something like To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, by Jenny Han. A great read to relax, and think about all the delicious food that Lara Jean can cook.

9. COFFEE, COFFEE, BUZZBUZZBUZZ!: A BOOK NOT YET RELEASED THAT YOU CAN’T WAIT TO GET YOUR HANDS ON

the way back to youI found out about The Way Back to You, by Michelle Andreani & Mindi Scott just a little while ago, and I loved the cover. The synopsis. The road-trip, the journey. I loved everything and I can’t wait to read that book.

What book would you like to read, while cuddling up with some Ben & Jerry’s ? And, important question : which Ben & Jerry’s flavor is your favorite ? Let’s chat in comments ! 💬

  1. I am reading PS I Still Love You right now and it’s having the same effect. I really like these books. I think Jenny Han does a really good job of making Lara Jean sound her age. I’m sometimes even slightly thrown by the immaturity of her voice. In some ways I resent it, because it makes me feel old, but from a writerly perspective I respect it.

Also: It’s totally not too cold for ice cream. You just have to combine it with warm chocolate pudding.

      1. I can totally relate! Now that Rainbow Rowell is working on the script for the Eleanor and Park movie, I think she’s also considering writing a sequel for it thouhg. That should be interesting, that is if it ever really happens.

  2. Ohmygod Marie, that ending! I don’t think I’ll ever get over it. Every time I feel like re-reading the book, I think about the ending and IS IT WORTH IT. DO I WANT TO RELIVE IT AGAIN.
It’s eleven at night here and I feel like having some peanut butter ice cream right now. Thanks Marie. 😛
